Singh's mother had lodged a complaint against 4 BSP leaders and others that during an anti-BJP demonstration in Lucknow in 2016 which was allgedly called on behest of #BSP Supremo, Singh was abused and was asked to present his family's women before the rally.

All 4 named accused are facing charges u/s 506, 509, 153A, 34, 149 of the IPC.
Section 11(1) of the POCSO Act was also invoked in the case, however, the high court has ordered it to be dropped.
