#SriAurobindo, the most important original thinker of 20th Century, was obliterated from our National Consciousness & relegated to a corner in Pondicherry for 70 years.

Of course, it is now the responsibility of all of us to ensure that his personality, contribution, thought seeps into the society. Youngsters need to know him at an early age.

It is in this regard I kindly request you to setup a “National Monument” of Cultural personalities of Bharatavarsha. It could consist of chosen National Heroes of last 3000 Years who made a big impact.
We may begin with the heroes of last 200 years.

A tastefully architected National Monument will create an interest in the society and next generation. With scholars hosted in this Institution, they could be an engagement with the youth around these personalities and ensure that their persona makes an impact.

Today, everybody knows, Swami Vivekananda. But very few know Sri Aurobindo. Hardly anybody knows Lala Lajpat Rai. Thanks to the Bharata Ratna honour your govt presented to Sri Madan Mohan Malaviya, he is back in the National Consciousness, otherwise most had forgotten.

We need a permanent place of honour for all of them, especially ones who sacrificed their lives in the last 300 years.
Once we have a National Monument, the States will follow and build similar ones. This has the tendency to flow down the national veins of culture.

This may also kill the tyranny of the Text Book. What a million text books may not be able to achieve, such a monument may achieve with less effort.
Hence, it is my humble request to you to consider a National Monument of Cultural Personalities of Bharatavarsha.
