Pecuniary Interests Update

Josh Frydenberg went to the tennis - paid for by Channel 9

Very hard for the 4th Estate to hold power to account when they're sharing the same box at the tennis.

This is why we can't have nice things....other countries call it corruption.

MP for Higgins, Katie Allen gave the keynote address/accepted flights/accommodation from The Australia Club in Sydney

The Australia Club is an all-male club that doesn't allow female membership

Any self-respecting woman wouldn't set foot in that place

Not Katie tho

MP for Nicholls, Damian Drum earns about $220K+ but he had a Catholic school pay for him & his family to go to the tennis.

Begs the question: if this school can afford to sponsor politicians to go to the tennis then why do they need taxpayer funding?🤔

And lastly, Senator James Paterson finally could be arsed updating his interests from November.

Obviously, the time limits set by Parliament for politicians to declare their interests are of no consequence to Senator Paterson

Better late than never I s'pose

PM Morrison Address to #NPC on @abcnews

President Laura Tingle opens proceedings.

(She should ask @ScottMorrisonMP why he's afraid to be interviewed by her)

Morrison begins by recognizing the Ngunnawal ppl & elders

Points out Barnaby & Marise are in the audience
🐝
#auspol
Starts speech by calling the last 3yrs 'extraordinary', fire/flood/pestilence/recession

"It's been tough"

Thanks aged care workers.

"Heartbreaking" to lose loved ones, our way of life turned upside down

Morrison trying hard to be 'suburban Scotty' - says he worries about things late at night like everyone else

Says he knows that everyone has put up with a lot.

Says he accepts the responsibility, criticism & blame of the shit show he has presided over.

I think Australia is on a precipice.

This election is the most important of my lifetime.

We have scraped the bottom of the barrel with Scott Morrison, quite literally.

Never before has any man been so wholly unsuitable or ill-equipped to be Prime Minister. His legacy is testament to that fact.

He doesn't hold a hose.
He doesn't give a RATs.
It's not his job.

Jenny has to explain the most fundamental things to him. He's clueless.

Anthony Albanese is the change Australia needs. He is a good man. He is an honest man. He's humble, intelligent, authentic. He will make a great PM & we will be lucky to have him

I know, as an Australian, I deserve better than Scott Morrison & his rabble of a Govt.

I've just returned from a tip up to north QLD, traveled via coal mine country - Rolleston/Injune/Clermont/etc.

I have to say these communities don't seem to be benefiting from coal mining much (as Libs & Nats insist). Most workers must be FIFO/DIDO.
🐝
#auspol
These towns are dilapidated, vacant shops, lucky to have an IGA. The houses are old & dilapidated. The cars in town are basic, well-used, nothing flash.

No evidence these locals are on $150-$250K+ coal mining incomes. So, I'm guessing they're not mostly.

Buildings (like council chambers/churches/schools/hospitals/etc are small & old), roads aren't the best.

Basically, there's very little evidence in these communities that they sit atop a multi-billion dollar industry.

The money isn't staying in these towns.

Hey @ScottMorrisonMP

Are you the PM for all Australians or just some?

Aside from your obvious misuse of Commonwealth money in marginal/targeted seats, your presence or lack thereof also tells a story.

In the last month you've visited at least 10 Coalition seats

Melissa McIntosh & Fiona Martin have managed to secure multiple visits from PM

McIntosh even went to Bathurst & Forbes (nowhere near her electorate of Lindsay) - even though local MP Gee didn't even get an invite!

Your perennial favourite Lucy Wicks also got a visit

The lower wages get, the more Australians are going to look to politicians & other leaders in society on massive salaries & demand more bang for our buck.

There's a trade-off here.

The masses are OK paying the big bucks & won't riot if we get a fair go.
🐝
#auspol #insiders
Currently, we're not getting a fair go & don't fucking tell me that we are.

Wage stagnation is rising. Job insecurity is rising. Homelessness is rising. Housing costs are rising. Cost of living is rising. Inequality is rising. Corruption is rising.

I've had a gutful

Morrison Govt are NOT good economic mangers, they're fucking atrocious

Morrison has no moral compass, NFI how to the job.

There are no consequences for wrong-doing, so his Ministers are out-of-control.

Afraid of scrutiny, accused a bully

I have several dear family members who are vax-hesitant & try as I might, I can't get them to change their mind.

When I talk to them the conversation quickly descends into a debate about freedoms & rights, words like Constitution are thrown in for good measure.

🧵
🐝
#auspol
I asked several what 'rights' they think they had?

Predictably, they sprouted rights defined in the US Constitution & Bill of Rights.

Neither of these documents apply to Australia.
🐝
#auspol
Australia does NOT have a Bill of Rights which enshrines the rights of the individual.

The Australian Constitution defines individual rights of religion, discrimination, acquisition of property, free trade between states & the right to trial by jury.

That's it.
