2. Sort of taking a bit of a break. Things look slowish right now (though I haven't actually done a deep dig) so I figured that this would be an appropriate time.
3. That said, I missed this when it first came out.
4. Also, a heads up that there will be a documentary on the events of the past few weeks on @cbcfifth tomorrow night. Yours truly was interviewed. I hope they edit it in such a way that doesn't show how much of a rambling mess I think I was. :)
5. Far-right pseudo-journalist Leigh Stewart posted a message regarding a presser by the Prime Minister.
8. Now I'm not going to comment on whether it was correct or not to invoke the Emergencies Act, but I do have to note that right-wing extremists and others had been suggesting that this would now be permanent and that it was all a pretext for Trudeau to assume dictatorial powers.
9. However, whether one agrees with it or not, it appears to have functioned as intended.
Once the emergency is over, the Emergencies Act was ended.
In some ways that has to be a bit of a disappointment to the far-right.
10. However if you are Diagolon's de facto leader Jeremy MacKenzie, he still thinks that occupiers being treated far, FAR, more gently by the police than any Indigenous protest that disrupted capital investment constitutes something unpardonable.
11. In a video in which he seems to gloat (for, I don't know, reasons?), he states he won't rest until everyone in the "regime" pays for their crimes.
And for someone who doesn't want to appear violent, I have to say he ends the clip on a rather implicitly violent note.
14. Now before the lifting of the Emergencies Act, Jeremy sent an email to Canadian senators which he labeled as a "list of demands".
15. And here it is. It seems that @antihateca plays a prominent role in his screed.
Also, I'm not an employee of CAHN. I'm an unpaid board member which I suppose technically makes me one of the bosses.
16. A few more points.
First, CAHN has thus far received a single grant in 2021 from the government so we haven't been funded by them since our inception.
Second, we have been critical of government decisions when warranted. We aren't owned my anyone.
17. Third, MacKenzie is referring to a good faith error by our Chairperson who was sent an image which in the confusion resulted in a misattribution that was fixed as soon as it was discovered. Bad faith actors have continued to use this quickly corrected error to attack us.
18. Fourth, Yep! I thanked @gmbutts for his very generous PERSONAL donation. I would do so again.
I could go on but I think this is sufficient.
19. Well as the world becomes even more chaotic and uncertain, at least I have a decent Wordle score.
Wordle 249 5/6

20. In many ways, with what is currently going on in the world, this seems so unimportant.
2. While I haven't been focusing on the QAnon self-proclaimed Queen, Romana Didulo and her entourage continue to hold court in Ottawa in their world that continues to be divorced from reality.
3. But even she seems to recognize that it is time to go home.
2. First a few things I caught before but didn't post.
First, Tyler Russell of the hate group Canada First believes because he was on a far-right video stream which attracts far-right listeners that they are "inevitable."
Folks, classic example of the echo chamber at work.
2. So I left off talking about Pat King's stream last night and though it was a bit later in the clip, Pat actually used they "I have a Jewish" lawyer argument to "prove" he isn't a racist.
2. I was sent this yesterday. It is a clip of another occupier that catches Pat King in a conversation.
Pat said he was sick but got better. He then adds that this is "survival of the fittest" which is an odious suggestion that those who die are not fit to live.
3. Now I don't want to focus a lot on Pat King, but he did post a "patrol" video last night.
