#SOTU 🧵-- Tonight @POTUS will deliver his first State of the Union address. In addition to confronting the crisis in #Ukraine, @WhiteHouse says the President will speak in depth about his economic vision.

He will lay out a 4-point plan to lower costs including:
* Making more things in #America, strengthening #supplychains
* Reducing the costs of everyday expenses for working families
* Promoting fair competition, protecting consumers
* Eliminating barriers to good-paying jobs

While you will hear @POTUS tout practical measures like reducing prescription drug, health care and childcare costs, you may NOT hear the words "BUILD BACK BETTER." A senior administration official told me "It's not about the name of the bill. It's about the ideas..."

Asked if the President should use the words #BuildBackBetter, West Virginia @Sen_JoeManchin, who pulled his support for the #BBB package last December, told me he should focus on #inflation.

The White House would not say if the President will use the word #inflation tonight but will talk about "price increases that become entrenched." @GOPChairwoman says @POTUS can't ignore inflation or other issues like the #border, #crime, #foreignpolicy and the #pandemic.

@GOPChairwoman @POTUS .@GOPChairwoman told me @IAGovernor Kim Reynolds will draw a clear contrast with the President in tonight's Republican response and show that "Republican governors got it right and Joe Biden and Democrats got it wrong" particularly when it comes to #COVID and the #economy.

Similar sentiments have also been echoed by many Republicans on Capitol Hill who are also calling on the Biden administration to stop importing oil from Russia and to expand the US' energy independence.
