The past 24 hours continue to show that Russian offensives are slowing down and mostly stalled. Still, around Kyiv, Russian forces are making slow/incremental (and costly) progress, in a bid to try and surround the city

From the most recent movements and previous attacks (and this is an assessment) it seems the two tactical objectives of the Russian forces around Kyiv may still be the Vasylkiv and Boryspil airport with offensives in the east and west of Kyiv (map is from @LeBeckInt's coverage)

I will repeat that this is an assessment - including the map - meant to represent our understanding of the situation. I also know the debate around representing "areas of control"/territory - this is a very sound debate, our choice is meant to make the map readable for better use

I think it's getting more and more evident that Russian forces are aiming for a siege of Kyiv rather than a direct attack - it could include more direct attacks, but that's what I am getting from troop movements. There are no probing attack toward Kyiv/saboteurs anymore

Surrounding Kyiv is still a very costly military endeavor and I am not sure that it is a realistic one at the rate of losses suffered by Russia. This is still extremely concerning, because this implies significant civilian casualties whether Russia is successful or not

According to the Mariupol City Council, three people have now died after being injured in the bombing of the maternity hospital in the city.

One of them is a child.

Chernihiv, in northeastern #Ukraine is now without gas and heating according to the head of the regional state administration in the city.

The targeting of local and national infrastucture is not a "coincidence", it is a deliberate tactic meant to force cities to surrender.

The city of Okhtyrka in eastern #Ukraine is being destroyed by Russia's constant bombardment. It has been resisting since day 1.
