#CRONOS 101: @cryptocom's very own chain

2. Cronos is crypto.com’s chain that interoperates with both ETH and Cosmos.

It aims to act as the bridge these two worlds and enable better allocation of resources. It’s Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible and is connected to the #Cosmos ecosystem.

3. #CRONOS aims to massively scale the Web3 user community by providing builders with the ability to instantly port apps and crypto assets from other chains with low cost, high throughput, and fast finality.

4. It’s powered by Ethermint, which allows for the rapid porting of apps and smart contracts from Ethereum and EVM-compatible chains.

8. To solve this problem, Crypto.com came up with the Crypto.org chain, which was designed to enable direct crypto to fiat payments to be made instantly, and with negligible transaction fees.

9. This is achieved by using the network’s native token, $CRO, as a settlement asset, allowing users to quickly and easily make regular purchases using crypto.

10. Cronos is essentially an EVM compatible sidechain running parallel to the Crypto.org chain.

It’s built to be IBC (inter blockchain communication) compatible and bridges the Crypto.org chain to the Cosmos hub.

11. It is fast, cheap, scalable and EVM compatible. It also allows devs to easily deploy dapps.

$CRO is the main token that can be used for staking. It is also crucial for fast transaction times as it is the settlement asset to enable the incredibly fast transactions.
