1/9 Recently I got pulled out of class for a “little chat”. I was told I had been reported for making “offensive comments”. Without ascertaining my version of events or even asking if the “reports” were true, it was clear my teacher had already decided I was guilty. #SexMatters

2/9 The only thing I’m guilty of is expressing perfectly sensible and legitimate views! Plus, since when is offending someone a big deal? People take offence at all kinds of things. Such is life and we all just have to deal with it. #BiologyIsNotBigotry #SexNotGender #SexMatters

3/9 I suspect, although I still don’t know for certain, that these “offensive comments” were actually facts that I discussed with a few classmates when they asked for my opinion. #WomenWontWheesht #WomensRightsAreHumanRights #IStandWithJKRowling #WeWillBeHeard #IStandWithMaya

4/9 I argued with my teacher that I had discussed factual info & that if people find fact offensive then THEY are the ones who need a “little chat” not me. I also said that I had a right to express my beliefs. I was told to only talk about my beliefs with “like-minded” people.

5/9 I countered that if we only spoke about issues with people who agreed with us then society would never progress e.g. women wouldn’t have the vote! (Remember the Suffragettes? If they'd only spoken among themselves then where would we be?) #WomenWontWheest #BiologyIsNotBigotry

6/9 Also, how am I supposed to find anyone who DOES think like me if we can’t talk? No. That teacher just wants to silence me because I am raising a lot of uncomfortable truths. #WarOnWomen #NoThankYou #FairPlayForWomen #SexMatters #IStandWithJKRowling #SaveWomensSports

7/9 Then I was told that because this school is such an inclusive school I shouldn’t voice my opinions here. I’m sorry, INCLUSIVE??! Your beliefs (never mind facts) are not welcome BECAUSE we’re so inclusive??! I think a definition of “inclusive” is needed here! #InclusiveMyArse

8/9 When I said (again) that I had a right to voice & hold my beliefs & opinions, I was told that if I continued to voice them, now that I know I’m upsetting people, more drastic action would have to be taken! (Don’t worry. My parents are on the case.) #WomensRightsAreHumanRights

9/9 NOTE: The below thread is the conversation that I suspect got me “reported”. Imagine. A teenager runs to tell tales because someone happens to hold a different opinion. Meanwhile, I haven’t reported anyone despite the constant abuse I’m receiving.🙄
