The #Avalanche Bridge just added native support for #Bitcoin 🔥

2. The #Avalanche Bridge is going to expand support for the #Bitcoin network. This is going to enable #Bitcoin holders to easily and securely transfer $BTC onto the #Avax network. This is huge as it would allow for $BTC to be used for DeFi on Avalanche.

3. Support for $BTC is expected to launch in Q2. Bitcoin will join #Ethereum as supported networks on the #Avax Bridge. Ethereum support on the bridge has been extremely successful. It was launched in July 2021.

4. The #Avalanche Bridge is the most popular Ethereum-connected bridge now. The TVL is over $6B, and the bridge has been used for over 243,000 transactions, allowing over $43B in ERC-20 assets to be used on Avalanche.

5. Looking at the success of the Ethereum bridge, the #Avax / #BTC Bridge has so much potential. The Avalanche Bridge will unlock a trillion dollar asset that has yet to fully join DeFi

6. The #Avalanche Bridge is one of the most important pieces of infrastructure for the Avalanche community. Avalanche’s architecture also makes it an ideal home for institutions that need high-performance.

7. Adding #Bitcoin support on the #Avalanche bridge opens so many possibilities, and I’m excited to see how this shapes the DeFi space.
