…of the pandemic. It’s far easier to ignore the pandemic, then it is to exercise the necessary precautions to end it.
In other words, personal sacrifice for community gain is no longer achievable.

“Politicians” around the country are looking to exploit this sentiment…

…and Doug Ford’s handlers are no different. The immediate discussion and subsequent lifting of protocols including masking shortly after the #OttawaOccupation ,sent the message that the Ford govt was listening to the plight…

…of these so called “freedom” fighters. More importantly the Ont PC Party wanted to prevent these people from aligning themselves with the far right New Blue Party after witnessing the impact The PPC had on the Federal Conservatives.

The lifting of…

…all pandemic restrictions was necessary and time sensitive in order to placate a group that could be the difference b/w a Ford majority, minority, or even a defeat in the election.

In essence, it didn’t matter what #Covid19 was doing to Ontario at the conclusion…

…of the #OttawaOccupation .The Ford govt simply could not risk a similar event at Queens Park, nor could they risk the New Blue Party acquiring the vote of this vocal bunch. Further, a return to any sort of restriction, including masking, no matter…

The Ford govt once again attempts to take advantage of this misplaced anger in an attempt to break a group focussed on worker rights, fair compensation, equity/access in education + health care. Why? Because they stand in the way…

…of privatization. Because they are the voice of what goes on in our hospitals and schools, and because it was this group that thwarted the attempt at privatization by Mike Harris decades prior. Cue the rhetoric about summers off & vacations, or doctors/nurses on Twitter…

…screaming the sky is falling, w/out these people the pandemic would have been FAR worse on our most vulnerable.

In the end we all want the pandemic to end, and it will. Just be aware that the consequences of 4 more years of Doug Ford will impact lives more than masking
