A big day yesterday for @saintjavelin. A quick 🧵 with nice 🖼️s 1/6

#ukrainecounteroffensive #RussianUkrainianWar
@DefenceU claims to have taken out FORTY FOUR Russian tanks in just one day. This is a huge number, and really shows the balance of power shifting in Ukraine's favor. 2/6
This means that #Russia has lost the equivalent of 83% of their peacetime #tank stocks to #Ukraine's weapons and captures. It's hard to really drive home how big a loss this is. It is unprecedented. 3/6

Imagery has surfaced of hundreds of Russian vehicles captured by #Ukraine AF during the chaotic #Russia|n withdrawal from #Kharkiv Oblast. We estimate the Ukrainians captured $265m worth of vehicles, not even including the $100's of millions destroyed.

Thanks @UAWeapons for 📷s
Losses include 36 tanks, 85 Armored Fighting Vehicles, 24 artillery and missile systems, 7 specialist equipment, two anti-air systems, 42 trucks and a complete Orlan-10 UAV system.
Caveat: Valuing old Soviet equipment is very challenging. This is a best estimate with the information I am able to gather.
