The #Sahel region has some of the worst health indicators in the world.
On average, people in the region - live 20 years shorter than in Switzerland.
Maternal mortality is 100 times higher.

Only half of the funding needed for life-saving assistance in Sahel region was received in 2021.
To respond to the region's acute health needs & strengthen its presence in the region, WHO released US$8.3m from its Contingency Funding for Emergencies bit.ly/31vWqUc
In coming six months, WHO will:
- send psychologists across π²π±
- help train four rapid response teams to help fight outbreaks in π³πͺ
- reestablish health services for 300,000+ people in Borno state in π³π¬
Contributions are needed so WHO can save lives and protect health in the #Sahel region.
