⚡What #Ukraine needs asap to win the war: Air-Defense Systems. @KpsZSU
You might have seen that the US is already helping a lot. This is true. #Ukrainians are thankful a lot. But it’s not enough for 🇺🇦 to protect the whole world from a massive threat to humanity.
(1/9)
🇷🇺air force is enormous, over 10 times as large as @KpsZSU. Without sufficient anti-aircraft systems, 🇷🇺will have free reign to destroy everything – artillery, command posts, tanks and entire 🇺🇦 cities.
(2/9)
That is precisely why at the beginning of the invasion 🇷🇺 was trying hard to achieve air dominance. If they succeed, it will just be a matter of time until 🇷🇺wins the war.
(3/9)
The #Buk is a family of self-propelled, medium-range surface-to-air missile systems developed by the #SovietUnion and its successor state, 🇷🇺, and designed to counter cruise missiles, smart bombs, fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
(4/9)
NASAMS (National/#Norwegian Advanced Surface to Air Missile System) is a distributed and networked medium to long range surface-to-air missile defense system. #NASAMS was the first surface-based application for the AIM-120 AMRAAM (Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile).
(5/9)
It integrates 🇺🇲MPQ-64 Sentinel air defense radar and AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles with an indigenously developed Battle management C4I system called FDC (Fire Distribution Center). The FDC connected to a MPQ-64 radar forms an “Acquisition Radar and Control System” (ARCS).
(6/9)
The missile has a horizontal range of up to 15-25 km.
The anti-aircraft systems are responsible for protecting 🇺🇦 from cruise missiles, which 🇷🇺 has in huge quantities and has been using with complete disregard for civilians.
(7/9)
This military support will enable Ukraine to reclaim territory lost since February 24th and bring #Russia to the negotiating table — not as a superpower throwing ultimatums, but as a neighbor willing to make real concessions.
(8/9)
However, without additional weaponry, this #RussianUkrainianWar will become an endless bloodbath, spreading misery, suffering, and destruction.

🇩🇪🇺🇦From German Engineering to Battlefield Reality: Lessons from Wisent in Ukraine
When Germany delivered the Wisent engineering vehicle to Ukraine, it was more than equipment transfer. It was the beginning of a real-time learning cycle under combat conditions.🧵👇
2 / Wisent — based on the Leopard 1A platform — is designed to restore mobility under fire. In Ukraine, that capability is tested daily.
“As soon as we hit a minefield, Wisent goes first,” says Oleksii, a Ukrainian instructor who trained in Germany.
“It clears a path by pushing mines aside with its teeth. Then it reverses on its own tracks — and armored vehicles follow.”
3 / Lesson learned #1: Mobility is survival.
In modern warfare, breaching minefields quickly determines whether an assault succeeds or stalls under artillery and drone fire.
Wisent often works in tandem with the German Biber bridge-layer.
“If there’s a mined area and a trench or river ahead, Wisent clears the way. Then Biber deploys the bridge. It’s teamwork,” Oleksii explains.
The russians have already lost 15 #T90M tanks in 🇺🇦 -

The 🇩🇪 system is really modern, powerful and effective. Already during the first baptism of fire in October last year, the system shot down 100 percent ✅ of the targets, these are mostly cruise missiles, - says the anti-aircraft gunner.
2/
Our "#BukM1" destroyed 10 🇷🇺 targets - #Mi24 helicopters, #Su30, #Su35 aircraft. At first we were stationed in the #Chornobyl area, then we moved to another one. When they offered to go to study in 🇩🇪 and learn new technology, Vadym agreed without thinking.
