#Inflation - 🧵The world's political and economical elites are meeting in Davos, Switzerland, for the @WEF, for the first time since the start of the pandemic. One of the major topics is sure to be the concerning inflation surges around the globe.
After the invasion of Ukraine by Russia in February, the #IMF revised their inflation projections upwards – by 1.8 percent for developed countries and 2.8 percent for developing nations.
Strong economic recovery following the end of the lockdown era of the coronavirus pandemic caused the price of goods and services to rise in 2021 in many developed nations, according to the @OECD.
With inflation standing at 8.3% year-over-year in April, everyday items are becoming pricier for U.S. consumers. Food prices in particular took some significant steps up, as seen in the example of shopping for hamburger ingredients.
With the cost of living rising dramatically around the world in 2022, many households are starting to look nervously at their bank balance.
As a survey by @IpsosNewsPolls reveals though, despite the massive political damage done to Johnson and key members of his party, the lockdown rule-breaking is taking a back seat in the minds of voters, at least for this round of local elections.

More than 40 percent of experts surveyed by Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty think that cybercrime and business interruption will be the biggest business risks in 2022.
Data from security firm Blackfog shows that from January to November of this year, 244 ransomware hacks were publicized, an increase of 25 percent compared to the same period in 2020.
