There is NEVER a justification for violence towards medical professionals.

Perpetuating Fear & #Stigma is NOT beneficial

It's rare for individuals in #Pain to strike out in violence at medical professionals.

Does it happen? Yes.

Should it? NO!
The ONLY way to prevent future occurrences is to understand WHY it is happening & avoid Fear Mongering & casting aspersions on a population of patients who are experiencing Systemic #Discrimination.

Under & Untreated patients experiencing unremitting pain are more likely to Image
Three cases of people committing such an extreme act of violence is NOT a trend & is NOT reflective of the #PainPatient population as a whole.

There are an estimated 50 million people living with #ChronicPain.

These cases are anomalies, the Root Cause needs to be addressed

Doctors can’t help people in pain because of restrictive opioid policy. ~ @dr4liberty @RMengerMD

There is no clear definition of overprescribing. Yet policy makers keep doubling down on a misguided mission to reduce or eliminate opioid prescribing, putting patients back in miserable pain and mental anguish, driving some to suicide and others to the black market.

Now, it may have driven one person to homicide.

All the while, overdoses soar among the population of nonmedical users who long ago moved on to heroin and fentanyl.

Personally, I find the entire outline of their Orthopedic program concerning from a patient's perspective.

In addition to the "72 hr Pain Free" follow up. It minimizes the potential for patients to experience post-op pain.

Unrealistic expectations shouldn't be advertised🤦‍♀️ Image
Make no mistake, I'm in suggesting this act was justified.

There is no, and can be no justification for striking out at medical professionals when a patient's expectations for treatment are not met.
There has been a lot of discussion regarding the Pain Patient's having unrealistic expectations for Pain Management.

For patients to have reasonable expectations, there must be clear honest discussion of the potential risks / benefits or any procedure including

@ademillo Please STOP #Stigmatizing patients who are being experiencing systemic Disability Discrimination to *cough* save them from a 1% risk of #Addiction

Since the 2016 Guidelines were issued there have been 3 of these cases from the millions of suffering CPP

@ademillo What we "Don't" read about in the News...

"For more than a decade, millions of Americans were misled into believing that—as a White House report once characterized it —‘‘opiate overdoses, once almost always due to heroin use, are now increasingly due to abuse of prescription
@ademillo painkillers’’. Little did they know or suspect that the CDC’s coding of prescription painkillers included non- prescribed illicitly manufactured fentanyl and fentanyl analogs and non-prescribed methadone administered or dispensed to patients being treated for opioid use disorder.

🧵 The @DEAHQ @CDCInjury @HHSGov @CMSGov interference in the practice of medicine is having devastating consequences for people who have #RareDisease Complex #chronicillness or a #Disability that requires a controlled substance to maintain their health
Fear, not Patient well being is determining prescribing practices.

Patients like my daughter are caught in the riptide of Medical Professionals attempting to avoid unwarranted persecution by Law Enforcement.

Unable to discontinue the only Seizure RX
that has stabilized her condition & not caused severe life threatening adverse reactions.

Since the @CDCgov Guidelines were issued by @CDCInjury in 2016, my daughter's life has been put in jeopardy repeatedly. She is a rare disease patient with multiple overlapping chronic
