@dienekeita (@UNFPA) provides a strong message: we must do for older people now what we want for ourselves when we are older.

#MIPAA, #MIPAA20Rome, and the @UNDecadeAgeing all show there is political will to improve the lives of older people. That will must be backed by action.

@UNECE @pu_unece #ICYMI: @WHO recently published a framework to support countries to achieve an integrated continuum of #LongTermCare.

Such a framework is essential to improving the lives of older people, their families & communities during the @UNDecadeAgeing.

#Collaboration: We’re moving into a high-level panel & dialogue between Ministers + civil society representatives on building forward from #COVID19.

@policydeb (@AARP) opens the session with a strong statement & call to do better, clearly differentiating between goals & actions.

@natasha_azzmus (@WHO_Europe) outlines 3 asks drawing on lessons learned from #COVID19:

👉 Guarantee access to care & medicine

👉 Ensure financing of health services & systems

👉 Build back fairer & #LeaveNoOneBehind

… with the @UNDecadeAgeing a 🔑 collaboration opportunity.

@natasha_azzmus also highlighted the crucial importance of #MentalHealth in fostering #HealthyAgeing.

Today, @WHO launched the #WorldMentalHealthReport which highlights that 1️⃣3️⃣% of people aged 70 and above live with depression and anxiety.
