**A 🧡 ON EARNING EXTRA USD $ FOR ANYONE IN #SRILANKA**. Hi everyone, so following up on my previous thread a few months ago, I thought I would write a new one on much simpler ways to earn some extra foreign income on the side.
As always, a small disclaimer. None of the methods I have mentioned here will probably make you enough money to survive on it as a lone source of income, however, it should act as a supplement to what you are earning + added bonus of it being in USD.
Most of the methods I have mentioned on this thread, I have learnt through people I met in #Bali who are digital nomads. Some use it as a supplementary source of income, but some actually SURVIVE completely on some of these means that I've mentioned.
So do it right, and results could be amazing.
Method 1: Dropshipping on Amazon/eBay: Before you roll your eyes, hear me out! I am not talking about the typical dropshipping of fidget spinners, what I mean is taking a local Sri Lankan product to the global market. The demand for Ceylon/Sri Lankan-based products is immense.
For eg: there is a seller on Amazon selling packets of Samahan! They have over 315 ratings, so they have made nearly $5,500 in revenue selling Samahan on Amazon!! Research, and think about a product that could appeal to a global market.
I know for a fact that there is a huge demand for local Ayurvedic and traditional medicinal products. Further, the demand for Sri Lankan spices is through the roof! Did you know, that global searches for "Ceylon Cinnamon" were HIGHER than searches for "Ceylon Tea"?
So, look around your own home. There could be things that people in other countries would pay top dollar to have.
Method 2: Make money by testing websites and apps. This is another simple, but effective way of making USD. You will be required to test different websites & apps and give your feedback. You have to pass a short test to get in. You can earn between $10-$20 per feedback given.
Alternatively, you could make even more, if your feedback is excellent, by participating in video conversations with the website/app owner where you give more detailed feedback. You could earn up to $120 for these sessions. Check out: usertesting.com/get-paid-to-te…
Method 3: Do simple, but repetitive tasks on Amazon's Mechanical Turk. So, there are certain super repetitive tasks such as classifying receipts or tagging pictures that companies want freelancers to do. Amazon's Mechanical Turk is an awesome place to pick up small tasks.
You will not be making huge sums of money on each task, but they are small, very simple tasks. So, you can easily be doing quite a few jobs in a month without taking up too much of your time to make a decent sum. Note: it may take a few days for your application to be approved.
Method 4: Online tutoring. Not as straightforward, but definitely has a higher income potential than all the other methods mentioned so far. There are numerous online platforms, but you must have the required qualifications.
You can tutor on a wide variety of different subjects, depending on your skills. Check out preply.com/en/teach or cambly.com/english?lang=en if you are an English/English Literature teacher.
Method 5: Sell an online course: I have mentioned this on my previous thread, but adding it again to showcase the potential. I have met more than 10 digital nomads who make over $25,000 a month through their online courses. I am not saying you can be an overnight success.
But, if you do have years of experience or you are extremely qualified on a certain subject, please try to create an online course. The more niche your course is, the better. Try to do some research on areas people want to learn, and see if you can develop something.
I hope I was able to add some value and give you some insights into how to make some USD as a side income. This is a tough time for us all as #SriLankans and we need to be supporting one another if we are to beat the #SriLankaCrisis.

A #THREAD ON HOW TO START A #SOLOPRENUERSHIP FOR #SRILANKANS. I thought of celebrating this May Day with a thread on how you can empower yourself! Please note, in no way am I insinuating that I am successful, these are just some tips that worked for me, and might work for you! πŸ™πŸ½
Tip #1: Do you think you need capital to start a business? FALSE 🚫. There are tonnes of businesses that can be started with very very little to no capital, by simply using your own skills, dedication and contacts. Two of my most successful ventures started with ZERO capital.
Tip #2: Do not overthink. A lot of people have fantastic ideas, but either keep overthinking and never launch, or simply procrastinate. So, one of the most crucial tips I have for you is that if you have a business idea just go for it. Don't worry about failure. DO IT!

FINDING SOURCES OF FOREIGN INCOME FOR #SRILANKANS! Alright guys, so here is a 🧡 on how you can potentially find new clients from foreign countries or find a remote job and build a stream of foreign revenue.
Note: This thread will include tips that may help you either find a remote job from a foreign country, or that will help you find clients for your business from a foreign country. Either way, the end goal is to help you find a stream of FOREX.
As I have mentioned before, you do not have to be in tech to find a remote job or to find foreign clients. I personally know people in marketing, finance, sales, HR, legal, and education who have found remote jobs/remote clients βœ….

REGISTERING YOUR BUSINESS IN THE #USA FOR #SRILANKANS! As promised, here is a 🧡 on how you can register your business in the USA and open yourself to a global market of potential customers, accept foreign payments and open a US Corporate bank account!
Please note that since this is a thread, I have simplified the entire process here. There may be a few extra steps, which ARE NOT substantial. Once you go through this, I will host a Twitter Space to answer your questions. And before we start, total cost for this is under $400.
First things first. The actual legislation can get a bit confusing, and there are different types of business entities you can set up. For the sake of simplicity, I will assume most of you are single-owner businesses and SMEs. Therefore, a Single-Owner LLC is the way forward.

MOVING TO BALI FOR A #SRILANKAN 🏝! So here is a 🧡 on how you can potentially move to Bali, live here, and earn a source of foreign revenue while in #Bali. Keep in mind Indonesia is not a straightforward option for long-term migration, but an option for short/medium term stays.
So, I would like to reiterate that Indonesia is NOT a long-term migration option. As far as I know, there is no direct route for a PR, unless an employer sponsors you for a job. But, it is a great way to get away from the #EconomicCrisisLK at least in the short /medium term.
Right, so diving into it, Indonesia offers a visa called a B211A visa that allows you to stay in the country for up to 180 days. The visa is initially given for 60 days, with 4x extensions of 30 days each. You can legally stay here, rent apartments/villas, and open a bank AC.

Hello everyone. Since this seemed to be one of the most urgent requests from most people that DM'd me, here is a small 🧡 on how to find #remotework job opportunities while you are based in #SriLanka.
Firstly, when it comes to looking for remote working #jobs it isn't as straightforward as finding a traditional job. Your usual sources such as LinkedIn may not be the best fit for finding remote jobs. What I have seen is that the remote working community is very tight-knit πŸ‘Š
Remote jobs and opportunities seem to be available via word of mouth and recommendations. You need to understand that hiring remote for a company is very risky. The company does not have the safety nets of having a physical employee they can see. So credibility is EVERYTHING.
