Vaccines work in the same way like any other vaccines, which is to break the chain of infection. Here both the reservoir & host are impacted by vaccination.. leading to a reduced population carrying the virus.

This reduces risk of infection across the board as overall persons able to carry the virus, or hosts able to infect others reduce correspondingly.
A bit like concept of "herd immunity" .. except that Covid-19 Vaccines don't offer same expected results..

Very honest look at breakthrough infections amongst HCWs who are already fully vaccinated.. 1/n

Out of 1497 fully vaccinated HCWs tested, 39 had breakthrough infection.. yet most of these cases were mild or asymptomatic.

Though 19% had persistent symptoms.. 2/n

Breakdown of the 39 HCWs infected:
18 nurses
10 admin or maintenance
6 allied health
5 physicians
This might not differ much from even Hospital settings in Malaysia, in terms of case proportion by profession.. 3/n
