Yesterday some interesting footage from #Kherson region appeared on telegram showing 🇷🇺 BM-27 #Urugan launchers on the road with the comment that fields were burning around #Chaplynka due to the launches. I decided to investigate here is my little 🧵

On the photo's there are powerlines visible which i was able to locate to being on the road out of #Chaplynka toward #NovaKakhovka. Also a blue sign can be sign which suggests that it just outside of town. When we look at the #FIRMS data however we do not see fires in this area.
When we look at #Sentinel images for 18-7 however we can see a burnt piece of land just NW of this road near the town of #Preobrazhenka. When we go back one day however this piece of land hasn't burned yet. This makes it a likely launching site according to satellite date.
Another interesting fact is that on 13-7 there are reports that an 🇷🇺 ammo depot was hit in #Chaplynka. on footage we can see ones again powerlines and what seems to a very tall thin structure & the smoke of the explosion to the left.
Location being hit seems to be a warehouse area on the north side of town, close to where the MLRS systems on the road have been spotted. Another interesting location in #Chaplynka is the airport.
The #Chaplynka airport is located just to the south. Different sources pointed me at this place in june, it is supposed to be a forward helicopter base and staging point for re-enforcements coming from #Crimea due to OPSEC i didnt tweet about it. No sign of it being hit yet.
However since #HIMARS arrived it seems #Chaplynka is also a MLRS staging area for attacking advancing 🇺🇦 forces in #Kherson region.🇷🇺 artillery moved away from the front significantly to avoid being hit by 🇺🇦 artillery & HIMARS, this has pushed them to the limit of their MLRS.
BM-27 #Urugan effective range is 35 km. However max. range is 70 km but this effects accuracy significantly and when aimed at urban area's would constitute a warcrime for indiscriminant use of artillery. Attached is a map with the plotted ranges of fire centered on #Chaplynka
This also would mean that 🇺🇦 forces might be closer to #NovaKakhovka then we assumed till now. So interesting times are ahead coming weeks when the 🇺🇦 offensive for #Kherson will take shape

🇷🇺 forces occupied #Snuhurivka after heavy shelling on 19-3-2022.
Directly they started building heavy defensive lines N & W of town . 🇺🇦 forces held the surrounding towns to the North & West. Defensive works consisted mainly of trenches and dug in armour positions.
According to local sources early morning of the 3th of juli 🇺🇦 forces started to move from W, N & NW toward #Blahodatne.🇺🇦 forces been prepping the BF by targetting defenses around this town from the 1st of juli forcing 🇷🇺 to fall back to defenses @ #Novopetrivka & #Lyubine

🧵 on the warehouse/ammo depot attack @ #NovaKakhovka #Kherson from tonight. 🇺🇦 forces presumable using HIMARS have destroyed a large ammo storage warehouse. According to soc. media sources this was a MLRS rocket storage facility

Using FIRMS data i will try to find more details about the attack. According to the data the first strike took place before 22.21 near location [46.7659233.39619] which seems to be a large recreation center. Fires seems to be concentrated on the NW corner of the complex.
This site seems perfect for AA systems overviewing the river and the dam. On FIRMS there is a 2nd fire detected at the same time in an area to the south. This is located in a residental area. Probably this is the result of shells/rockets overshooting it's objective @ rec. center.

Had a conversation with a dutch guy @delangeleo who was stuck in #Kherson for 4 months during the 🇷🇺 occupation. He told me in the city there was/is constant partisan activity. During the first couple of weeks this mainly consisted of assisting 🇷🇺 deserters to cross the lines,
These numbered in the 100's during the first months. This changed later on when at first there started to appear spray painted 🇺🇦 flags & flyers everywhere which the occupiers tried to paint over & remove asap. Also there started to be daily attacks on 🇷🇺 vehicles & troops.
🇷🇺 Trucks are getting bombed on a daily basis and 🇷🇺 soldiers just dissapear and are found dead later on. Strangly the partisans are asking the people not to post these actions on social media.The only reason i can think of not to spread this is to protect the people themselves

News keeps coming in from different sources that 🇷🇺 defensive positions around #Chornobivka and airport are under constant artillery fire since juli 2nd. FIRMS data seem to indicate that on 2nd area's just west of the airport where struck.

FIRMS data showing a large field burned can be seen on Sentinel images from 3rd juli. On the 3rd of juli FIRMS indicates targets at the edge of the airport on highway M14 seem to be struck. 🇷🇺 forces presumably fell back here from prev. defensive positions 3 km out.
These previous defenses where taken up after defenses @ #Klapaya were severly struck on 15 till 19th of june. After these strikes they fell back 4 km to positions just 3 km from the airport these were subsequently hit on 29th june leading to their withdrawel to the airports edge

#Kherson western front update. After my last update friday there has been significant action by 🇺🇦 forces. Where i said #Pravdyne was contested today it's confirmed. liberated by 126th TDF subsequently #Myrne was also liberated. This is the situation IMO.

🇷🇺 forces where forced to retreat toward #sofiivka & #Tomynabalka to avoid being encircled. A large number of vehicles and personel where destroyed during heavy artillery fire on retreating forces. FIRMS shows alot of fires along this route. 🇷🇺 positions @ #Doslidne got hit hard.
According to sources on the ground #Stanislav has been liberated since friday after 🇷🇺 forces fell back to defensive positions W of #Shyrokabalka. 28th Mech & 136th Marines are containing 🇷🇺 forces & trying to encircle them by moving toward #Tomynabalka cutting of escape routes.

#Oleksandrivka area, according to my source in the area 🇺🇦 forces mainly 137th MC and SOF conducted operations and liberated #Stanislav. Mopping op. ongoing in area to the east. 🇷🇺 forces (DPR & VDV) fell back to #Shyrokabalka and will setup defenses near #Tomynabalka.
Toward #Pravdyne 🇷🇺 counter attacked and took up defensive position on the W/SW side. 🇺🇦 forces are attacking daily with drone assisted M777's and MLRS.
Active in this area is the 126TH TDF & SOF recon (See 🧵 ⬇️) north #StepovaDolyna is liberated.
