“Umm, P-Prince Izuku?” a maid watches silently as Izuku just casually sits, a book in hand. “A-Aren’t you going to see his majesty on his walk?”

“Hmm?” Izuku looks up, a gentle smile on his face. “Nah, I don’t want to bother him.”
The maid is flabbergasted, looking at Izuku like he’s a foreign entity. Well, Izuku doesn’t really blame her.

Regarding how his personality was before, it would seem like his personality made a 180 in just one day.

But, Izuku wants to right some wrongs in his old life that he
didn’t think he could amend. The books he’s reading is the political and martial affairs of the Bakugou Kingdom.

He’s trying to find a way to peacefully divorce Katsuki that won’t lead to a war breaking out. At least, from his kingdom and his doting father.
Just then, he catches a little head peeking into his room. Red eyes looking at him in curiosity. Izuku gently closes his book, smiling at the newcomer.

“Hello, you must be Princess Eri.”

The maid looks behind her just as the Princess comes out of her hiding spot.
She’s a small thing, her little hands fiddling with her dress. “H-Hello Prince C-Consort.” She does a curtsy.

Izuku smiles more, but the maid gently reprimands her. “Princess Eri, it’s not lady like to stutter. You need more tutelage in ways of speech, my lady.”
Eri flinches, fiddling with her hands again. Izuku glances up at the maid, starting to remember what a bitch she actually is underneath her “niceness”. “Leave us.”

The maid looks at him. “B-But your-“

“I said leave us. And have another maid come in with tea and snacks.” He then
smirks. “It’s not lady like to stutter.”

The maid’s face flushes a bright red, but she does as she’s told. Once she’s gone, he gently beckons for Eri to come to him. The little princess does so. Setting his books aside, he gets out of his chair and bends down to her level.
“You know, I used to stutter a lot when I was your age,” he says, Eri looking at him with wide eyes.

“R-Really?”

Izuku nods. “Yes. I couldn’t pronounce peoples’ names right either. Some words were harder for me to say back then.”

He scoops the princess up by her armpits,
settling her down on the sofa. Izuku sits beside her. “If you need any help or anything else, then you are more than welcome to come join me for tea.”

Eri looks down at her dress, once again fiddling with it. “W-Will that be okay…? If I-I come see you… when I’m lonely…?”
Izuku pats her head. “Of course.”

Eri gives him a wobbly smile just as two maids comes in with a tea set and some snacks. If they are surprised to see the young princess and prince consort together, they don’t say anything.
Izuku glances at poor Eri. She is sadly a bastard child between Katsuki’s mother and one of her unofficial male concubines. He just couldn’t remember which one since he never really interacted with the previous queen and her concubines.

But the few times he did, he could
honestly say it now that he knows better.

She was a two faced bitch.

She mostly ignored Eri and would belittle Izuku under false complements. He also doesn’t remember Katsuki interacting much with his half sister either.

He watches Eri tentatively take a bite out of a cookie,
her eyes shining in delight.

Much like the children Izuku would sneak their favorite snacks to back in the hospital he worked at. He pats her head again.

“Enjoy all that you want, Princess Eri.”

He’ll make sure she’ll have a good life this time.
And not die from a disease like she did before…

“It seems like your stalker is busy these days, your Majesty,” pipes up Sero, dodging a blow from Katsuki’s sword. “Haven’t seen him following you around like a lost puppy in days.”
Katsuki grunts, hitting Sero in his unprotected side before the fucker could defend himself. Sero holds his most likely bruised side as Katsuki marches over to an attendant to take his practice sword.

“That bratty prince is nothing but a thorn in my side since this whole
bullshit started,” he grunts, taking a towel from another attendant to wipe the sweat off. “Caused so many damn problems. Glad the fucker isn’t around to bother us.”

Just then, Kaminari comes into the training grounds with his arm in a sling.

And a flower crown on his head.
Katsuki glares. “What the fuck is on your head? And why the hell is your arm in a sling?!”

Kaminari laughs, scratching the back of his head. “I had a bit of an accident two hours ago and sprained my wrist badly. The Prince Consort and Princess Eri helped me.”
“Ha?” Katsuki looks at Kaminari like he has lost his mind. “Why the fuck are my sister and that brat doing together?”

Kaminari looks puzzled. “Brat?”

Sero snickers. “I keep forgetting you were away for a while with Shinsou. Midoriya Izuku is known as the Brat Prince.”
“He didn’t seem like a brat to me,” remarks Kaminari, a blush and smile coming across his face. “In fact, if he wasn’t married to our “mighty king” here, I would have taken the kind green haired beauty for myself!”

“I don’t think kind is the word I would use to describe him.”
Kaminari glances at Sero who shrugs his shoulders. “I’ve been stuck with him for a week when his convoy was being escorted here. My Gods, he could complain and wore such expensive clothes too.”

Kaminari blinks. “The clothes I saw him wearing today were what stable boys wear.”
Sero and Katsuki look at him in shock. Then the raven haired knight begins to laugh. “Hahaha! Very funny! The Brat Prince wearing stable boy clothes? You almost got me there!”

“But I’m not-“

Suddenly, some nearby knights scramble to the other side of the training hall where the
windows lie. Many have awestruck faces, some pointing in astonishment out the windows.

Katsuki, now irritated, marches over to them. “Alright, what the hell has all of you so fascinated for?!”

A knight strutters out, “T-There’s someone out there riding your horse.”
Katsuki is deathly silent that everyone slowly turns to look at him, waiting for the king’s reaction.

“Someone… is /what/?!” He hollers out, making the knights jump. “Who the fuck is riding /my/ horse?!” Better yet, /who/ is, besides Katsuki, able ride Inferno?
Inferno, like her name, is a wild one. Katsuki has been the only one in the kingdom to be able to ride her. So who the fuck is-

“I-It’s the… Prince Consort, your Majesty.”

…. What….? How…?!
With the thought of murder on his mind, Katsuki storms out of the training hall and marches his way towards the horse training field. Some squires heading to the hall quickly get out of his way just by seeing the look on his face.

The sounds of other knights and horses reaches
Katsuki's ears and he steps onto the field to find himself staring instead of yelling like he had planned on doing.

There he is, the Brat Prince, riding the /HIS/ horse without any difficulty at all. In fact, Inferno looks rather pleased, the prince petting her mane.

"Such a
wonderful horse, aren't you?" the prince coos, Inferno eating up all his compliments and Katsuki swears he can see that demonic horse smirking in pride. "She's a pretty horse, isn't she, Eri?"

Eri?

His little half sister is sitting in front of the prince, a smile on her face.
In fact, Katsuki doesn't remember the last time his half sister even smiled. She always stood towards the shadows, as to not be seen or heard. Eri glances up at Izuku. "She definitely i-is a pretty horse!"

The prince smiles, one that Katsuki has never seen on his face. Usually
the prince's smiles are deceitful and untrustworthy. This smile looks may appear nice, but the king will not let his guard down. Loudly clearing his throat, he gains Eri and the prince's attention.

Eri's smile quickly fades, a nervous look replacing it.
Katsuki doesn't know why, but he feels something bad churn in his gut at her expression. That the moment she sees him, she no longer smiles. The prince, on the other hand, doesn't lose the smile, but it appears forced now.

Like being in Katsuki's prescence is a bother to him.
That the king is nothing more than an eyesore.

Katsuki feels irritated, growling out, "Why the Hell are you on /my/ horse?"

The prince raises a brow, appearing to be feigning ignorance. "Your horse? This sweet thing? Why, I had no idea, your Majesty."

... Your Majesty?

Not once since Katsuki has met Midoriya Izuku has he ever addressed him as “Your Majesty”. It’s always been that annoying nickname the prince came up with.

Kacchan.

But now the prince before him feels… different. There’s a look in his eyes that Katsuki can’t decipher.
He doesn’t like it one bit. Izuku turns away from him, making a clicking noise and Inferno starts walking without a problem. Katsuki balks at the display.

“Oi! I told you that’s my horse!”

Izuku turns to look at him. “Yes and? No one in the stable or the knights said she was
specifically yours. Only that you were the only one so far to be able to ride her. Now she’s letting me ride her. So, if you’ll excuse us.”

He turns away again and Inferno, the damned horse, smacks Katsuki in the face with her tail.
The knights on the field have their mouths wide open, many snickering that just now, their King just got told off by not only his new husband.

But by Inferno, a horse that Katsuki was the only one able to ride her, too.

Some did not keep their laughter in.
Sero and Kaminari, who followed Katsuki, burst out laughing. “Hahahahaa!! Oh my Gods did you see his face?!” Kaminari is about to roll on the ground laughing, Sero about to join him.

Katsuki, now severely pissed off as Izuku rides off, turns to his men.
He grabs a nearby knights sword, still in its sheath, before harshly whacking the two idiots upside their heads.

His ears are red from being embarrassed like he was and then a vicious smirk crosses his face. “If you have the energy to laugh, then you have the energy to start
running 100 laps around the entire grounds of the castle.”

They both blanche at this. Kaminari stutters out. “But that could take us two hours to even do one lap!”

“You better start running then,” Katsuki growls, turning to the others. “And you all will be joining them!”
Several knights groan in frustration, some even cursing their Gods for this kind of fate. But they all, albeit slowly, do as what their king instructs.

Katsuki watches his men trudge off, a smirk on his face.

After the horse incident, Izuku spends most of his time
preoccupied in the castle’s library. Eri occasionally joins him and today is no different.

“H-Hipopatamus?” Eri tries to sound out the word from a book she is reading, Izuku sitting beside her.

“Close, it’s pronounced Hip-po-pot-a-mus or Hippo for short.”

“Oh!”
Eri seems even more relaxed around him now, Izuku fairly glad the girl is warming up to him. He sadly wasn’t able to when he lived this life the first time.

She became very sick over the course of his stay and doctors weren’t able to figure out what was causing her illness.
Then she sadly passed away in her sleep.

Eri is such a sweet girl and doesn’t deserve that kind of fate like she did. But now with the knowledge of a doctor and surgeon, Izuku looks the girl over with his eyes.

He notices she has some bags underneath her eyes.
“Princess Eri, have you been getting any sleep?” Izuku inquiries, taking a sip of tea a maid left them. Eri takes her teacup and drinks her tea.

“No… My stomach aches s-sometimes… T-Then some coughing.” She sets her tea immediately down, her nose crinkled a bit. “Sometimes I
feel very dizzy…”

Izuku mulls over her symptoms, one disease coming to mind. “Princess Eri, did you have a flu recently?”

“Y-Yes or at least my nanny sa-says so.”

Alright, that checks another box on Izuku’s list. Now he just needs to check one more thing.
“We’ll need to go to the hospital infirmary. I just want to check some, okay.”

Eri looks at him with a nervous expression. “O-Okay.”

Taking her by the hand, Izuku leads her out of the library and takes several turns to avoid any onlookers. Finally, they reach the infirmary and
Izuku peeks inside.

Thankfully the doctor isn’t in the infirmary, most likely on a break or in another part of the hospital. Leading Eri inside, he shuts and locks the door before rummaging through the doctor’s things.

“W-What are you doing, P-Prince Izuku?”
"Just searching for- ah ha!" he pulls out a stethoscope, it nice and sterile, ready for use. "Okay Eri, I'm going to be listening to your lungs, okay."

"My... lungs...?" She tilts her head in confusion. Izuku nods his head, s smile on his face.

"Yes, this device," he holds up
th stethoscope, "allows me to listen to things inside your body, primarily your lungs and heart."

Eri's eyes widen in wonder. "Wow... I didn't k-know you were a-a doctor too."

Izuku laughs a little. "You can say that, but this stays between us, okay?"

The little princess nods.
Izuku has Eri sit down on a stool, him unlacing the back of her dress to have access to her back. "I'm going to listen to your lungs, alright. It will be cold, so bear with me."

"O-Okay..."

Once her back is exposed, Izuku puts the stethoscope on, placing the ear tips into his
ears, and then places the chest piece on her back. He sees her flinch a bit from the cold equipment, but settles down. "Okay Princess, I need for you to take in some deep breaths for me. Can you do that for me?"

"Y-Yes." She takes in some deep breaths, Izuku listening closely to
her lungs. He moves the chest piece and diaphragm to another part of her back, keeping his ears open.

"Another deep breath."

She does another deep breath and Izuku hears it. He knows this familiar sound like the back of his hand. There's fluid building up in her lungs.
It's only a matter of time before her symptoms get worse, especially depending on what type she may have. Most likely viral since she had the flu recently. But one thing is for sure.

Princess Eri has Pneumonia.

And there's no vaccine for it in this world yet.

While vaccines are not a cure for the illness, it would still help tremendously for future patients. Especially since, if caught and not treated in time, can be a death sentence.

With only a candle to light his way, Izuku reads through medical journals and records.
This reminds him so much of the study sessions he used to have with his fellow classmates in medical school. If only he had Itsuka’s music playlist along with Iida’s chiding to help pass the time.

He missed those two.

Izuku skims through another book, rubbing his temple.
Just reading this outdated material is making his brain hurt. Maybe he could help update this material for future doctors and nurses to read?

No, at least, not right now.

It would be too much of a hassle, especially if Izuku, known as the Brat Prince, were to be involved.
They will most likely say “What does the Brat Prince know of medicine? All he knows is shopping and spending money like it’s water.”

Well, they weren’t wrong.

Past Izuku did do deplorable things and was a shopaholic. Izuku still remembers when he first woke up in this world
again and looking at all the expensive items he had brought with him from his kingdom. He was so overwhelmed because he spent his previous life as frugal as possible, especially since he and his family didn’t have much money.

Got worse when he went to medical school.
He nearly passed out when he heard the price of only one of the items he bought.

That amount of money would have paid his and his friends’ entire tuition for all 4 years of medical school. But still, he doesn’t regret his past life.

Kept him humble and have a need to help
people in need. That was a reason he became a doctor in the first place.

But he can’t show his medical skills and knowledge without raising questions.

Like he can’t go, “Oh, I used to be bad and died. Became a doctor in my next life, died again, and came back to this life.”
Yeah, they will think he is insane and have him sent somewhere for the criminally insane. If that were to happen, then he can’t help the princess.

Princess Eri has Pneumonia. Most likely viral caused by a recent flu, which is a leading cause of how people gain Pneumonia.
But he has to make sure if it really is viral instead of bacterial or fungal. At least with the other two, it’s a bit easier to treat if caught early enough.

Viral, on the other hand, is caused by a virus, which can’t be properly treated with antibiotics.
But there is one more form of Pneumonia that was taught to him and his class in medical school.

/“The three most basic forms of Pneumonia are Viral, Bacterial, and Fungal. But,” his teacher, Shirakumo Oboro, began writing on the board, “there is a fourth.”/
/Shirakumo finished writing a word on the board, pointing to it. “This form of Pneumonia is sometimes overlooked. But I tend to find it in individuals, children especially, where one or more of their parents/guardians suffer from Munchausen’s Syndrome or other mental illness.”/
Izuku remembers that word very clearly.

/“Chemical Pneumonia. It’s a form where lung inflammation is caused by exposure to certain toxins and/or poisons to the human airways.”/

Izuku feels his heartbeat growing faster, his hands shaking. Eri’s symptoms in his other life…
/“I heard Princess Eri hasn’t been feeling well. Stomachaches, headaches, delirium.”/

/“Oh my! I wonder if her flu has come back tenfold or worse, Pneumonia.”/

/“The doctor claims it’s a really bad flu this time.”/

Izuku slowly gathers his items off the desk and goes to put
the books back on the shelves, making sure nothing is out of place. His hands still shake, him knowing very well now that Eri doesn’t have viral like he thought.

/“I heard Princess Eri fell unconscious again today. And the doctor said her future looks grim.”/
/“Poor Princess Eri. So young too…”/

Izuku exits the library, feeling sick to his stomach, now knowing what it is that he looking for. And he honestly feels sick to his-

“What the Hell are you doing out this late at night?”

Izuku is startled, nearly letting go of his candle.
He whips his head around and finds Katsuki standing in the hallway, his arms crossed. He’s only wearing loose silk pants and robe with the Bakugou symbol. A fiery red dragon on a shield over crossed swords.

Red eyes bore into him, Izuku standing up straight to look his “husband”
in the eye. “I’m taking a gander around the castle without prying eyes and gossiping maids. I should be asking why the mighty King is out of his quarters at this time of night.” He raises an eyebrow. “Couldn’t sleep well or not at all?”

Katsuki’s eye twitches.
“Well, if you have nothing else to ask, then I shall be heading back to my quarters. Good night, your Majesty.” Izuku bows before slowly slinking off down the hall when Katsuki calls out to him.

“Something is seriously off about you these days.”

Izuku turns to look at the King.
“How so, your Majesty?”

“That for example.” Katsuki sneers, Izuku sighing, turning to face the King again. “What the fuck is up with that?”

For a body fit for a model, his attitude is utter trash. Izuku rolls his eyes a bit.

“You have to be more specific, your-“
“That!” Katsuki grits out, teeth clenched together. “For as long as I’ve known you, you refused to address me by “your Majesty” and instead go with that asinine nickname!”

Oh, this is what this is about. It’s so funny Izuku laughs a little.

Katsuki hisses out, “What’s so funny?
Are you mocking your husband?”

“It’s quite, frankly, funny to see you this upset from me addressing you like how you wanted me to,” replies Izuku cooly, remembering the training as a doctor to keep a steady mind and voice. “And funny to hear you call me your husband.”
Katsuki’s eye twitches again. “/You’re/ the one that wanted to us to be husbands in the first place!” His eyes hold a lot of resentment, anger, fury. etc. “Your old man and my old hag made that happen. So I won’t fall for your shitty-“

“Did you never even think for a moment?”
The King glares hard at him, Izuku making sure to stand his ground.

“Think about /what/?”

Izuku sadly smiles. “That everything that I have done… Was all an act for a beneficial, political marriage for my kingdom?”

Katsuki opens his mouth to speak, but no words come out.
“If you have nothing else to say, then good night, your Majesty.”

With that, Izuku turns away and walks back down the hall, leaving a dumbfounded Katsuki behind.

“Is it me or does our Mighty King seem more…pissed off than usual?”

Sero and Kaminari watch Katsuki
beat the ever loving shit out of a practice dummy with his sword. Kaminari raises a brow. “Now that you mention it, he has been lately. Especially today after the incident during breakfast this morning.”

Sero inquires, “What happened this morning?”
Kaminari snickers. “Our king and his mom were waiting for Prince Izuku to come to the dining room, most Katsuki’s mom. But… Prince Izuku just sent a maid stating that he will be dining with Princess Eri today in his room.”

Sero snickers.
“Damn, this Prince sounds so completely different from when I first met him. He was like all the other stereotypical pampered princes we’ve met.” Sero glances at Katsuki on the field. “But now… I don’t think our King knows what to do with him.”

Kaminari nods in agreement.
Just then, an attendant comes up to Sero and Kaminari, whispering into their ears.

“Prince Consort Izuku would like to speak with you two for a moment in private.”

Both knights look at each other, curiosity getting the better of them. Katsuki is too preoccupied with the dummy
to notice their departure.

The attendant leads both men towards one of the many beautiful gardens on the castle grounds. Sero whispers to Kaminari. “I wonder what he may want with us.”

Kaminari shrugs. “Beats me too.”
The attendant leads them into a large gazebo and the Prince Consort is sitting at one of the tables, a book in hand. He’s wearing simple clothes consisting of a long sleeve cotton shirt the color of ebony. Dark brown pants and black boots.

Green eyes snap up from the book, a
smile gracing his face. “Welcome Sir Kaminari. Sir Hanta.”

Both knights bow, Sero eyeing the Prince Consort.

The last time Sero saw the Prince Consort, he was wearing clothing that was more expensive than anything Sero will ever own. But now…

Something’s /very/ different.
Something different in the way Izuku speaks, smiles, and even sits is different from when Sero saw him last.

It’s like he is a totally different person now.

“Sir Kaminari, how is your arm doing?”

Kaminari picks his head up, a blush on his face. “Better now, Prince Consort.”
“No need to be so formal with me,” Izuku laughs a little. “You may call me Izuku or Sir Izuku if you prefer.”

Kaminari looks like he got struck by Cupid’s arrow as Sero clears his throat, standing up straight. “You called for us, Pr- Sir Izuku?”

“Ah yes.” Izuku sets his book
book down, standing up. “I wish to travel into the nearby village today.”

Sero quirks a brow. “Is there a reason, Sir Izuku? If you wish to order something from town, surely someone can go retrieve it for you.”

Izuku shakes his head.
“No, I wish to go into town myself and need two of the best knights to protect me and Princess Eri.”

Both the knights are dumbfounded. “Wait, the princess too?” Kaminari asks. “But lately she has been feeling ill and the doctor said to keep her indoors.”
Izuku frowns. “While I’m not questioning the doctor since I know he has been here for quite sometime. However,” he stands up from his chair, “children also need fresh air and being confined to one location for long periods of time is detrimental to her mental health.”

Both of
the knights look at the prince in puzzlement as he continues.

“Besides, I heard there will be a festival in the villages today for the Summer Solstice. And Princess Eri has said she has never been to one.” Wind billows through the gazebo, ruffling Izuku’s hair as some light
cascades through the glass top of the gazebo.

Sero and Kaminari feel their hearts beating fast as Izuku sends them both such a kind and loving smile.

“And I want help create even more happy memories for her.”

Sero now feels the effects of Cupid’s arrow, piercing his heart.
Well, with a smile like that, how could they say no now?

“Alright Prince Co- Sir Izuku, we will escort and guard you and Princess Eri for your outing today,” says Kaminari, but then a grimace. “But we would need the King’s permission to leave for the nearby village.”
Prince Izuku’s eye twitches, his smile now forced and his hands curling up into fists. “Is that so…? And pray tell why I need /permission/ to leave?”

Sero swallows. “W-Well, you see-“

“It’s what /you/ might do, Deku.” Everyone is startled to see Katsuki at the entrance of the
gazebo, a frown on his face. “I heard all about your spending habits and how you nearly depleted your kingdom’s treasury.” He glares hard at Izuku, crossing his arms over his chest. “So you will not be leaving to go on some big shopping spree and dragging my sister with you.”
Izuku turns to face him, a stern look on his face. “What makes you assume I’m going to be shopping for myself?” He tilts his head slightly. “If I remember correctly, didn’t your mother recently purchase a very expensive vase that could have gone to the fund for commoners?”
Katsuki appears taken aback by this. Sero and Kaminari can only watch silently from the sidelines as they both continue to argue.

“My mother uses her own funds unlike /someone/ I know.”

“Oh really? Why don’t you go check the books then to see if she really is using her own
money?”

Katsuki stalks towards Izuku, Sero and Kaminari silently reaching for their swords in case something bad happens. But the Prince Consort stands his ground, arms crossed. Katsuki harshly grabs Izuku by the collar of his shirt.
“Watch your tongue, Bratty Prince,” Katsuki growls out. “Just because you’re acting innocent right now doesn’t mean I trust any damn word you say. One day you’ll slip up and reveal your true colors…”

He lets go of Izuku and shoves him back a bit before storming off.
Kaminari is immediately by Izuku’s side, watching the king leave, sighing. “His mother is a… sore spot. Actually, accuse any one of his family for anything and he gets pissed.”

“Yeah, now he thinks you’re looking down on him and his family,” Sero pipes in. “His family has been
protecting this land for the last three centuries. They are a stubborn family for sure, but loyal to each other.”

Izuku just sighs, knowing he went too far.

But it doesn’t mean that he wasn’t telling the truth about Mitsuki.

She could spin a lie like a spider creates their
beautiful webs. Izuku in his past life was too stupid to realize he, along with others, were trapped in her web of deception.

Until it was too late and it cost him his life.

Memories of his execution still haunt him, of being dragged and thrown into burning flames…
Izuku shakes those thoughts away and looks at the two knights with an apologetic smile. “It’s alright… I’ll just have to tell Eri that we could go some other time.”

Sero and Kaminari feel bad for the Prince and Princess Eri.

Eri has been cooped up in this castle for a majority
of her life. She’s only gone out a few times, but with a heavy amount of guards and stuck by Mitsuki’s side.

Just imagining her downtrodden face breaks the knights hearts. Then Kaminari gets an, albeit very risky/stupid, idea.

“There won’t be another festival for quite a while.
So… Me and my man Sero here can just sneak you guys out later tonight. That’s when the real festivities begin.”

Sero looks panicked. “H-Hey, don’t drag me into-!”

“Just imagine Princess Eri’s smile when she sees the lanterns released into the night sky. Every child in the
surrounding villages has seen them up close but Princess Eri.”

“Oh yes! Eri was gushing about wanting to see them,” Izuku says, Sero now feeling guilt hitting him like a truck.

It doesn’t help with two guys giving him adorable puppy dog eyes.
Sero finally cracks under the pressure. “Alright… But we will only stay out for the lanterns and head immediately head back to the castle. Capisce?”

Both Kaminari and Izuku enthusiastically nod their heads. Sero feels a migraine coming on, but to see Izuku smiling again is
worth the risk of the king’s wrath.

Katsuki is in his study, the sun beginning to set on the horizon. His attendant, Jirou, comes in with some coffee.

“I think you should move into your study and make it your bedroom,” she jokes, setting down the coffee.
“Piss off,” Katsuki replies, but it has no bite to it. Then he’s really silent for a moment. “Can you get me this months ledgers for the Commoner’s Fund?”

Jirou blinks. “Whatever for? I thought your morning secretary already checked them.”

“Well, I want to fucking check again.”
Jirou gives him a look, but does as she’s told. She leaves the study, Katsuki sighing before rubbing his temple.

/“If I remember correctly, didn’t your mother recently purchase a very expensive vase that could have gone to the fund for commoners?”/

That Brat Prince’s words
still cling to him like a second skin. Katsuki wants to forget those words, but they refuse to leave him.

So he’ll check those ledgers and prove his mother’s innocence. His mother has an account of her own money and wouldn’t dare touch the funds Katsuki had created.
Jirou soon returns, the ledgers in hand. She places them on his desk, Katsuki grabbing them and looking them over. This time, he carefully reads the numbers and expenses.

So far, everything appears normal and Katsuki almost scoffs at accusations the Brat Prince made.
The Bakugou family was no swind-

Katsuki pauses, looking at the ledger again when he notices something isn’t adding up. It’s barely noticeable, but he finds that some expenses appear to be… forged.

The amount of money doesn’t equate to the amount of items shipped to them.
The amount of items ordered is less than the amount they actually need. It’s the less acknowledged items, so it went most likely unnoticed for quite a while.

Katsuki feels so stupid for not seeing and figuring this out sooner. Jirou looks at him, puzzled. “Is something wrong?”
“Someone has been embezzling money from the Commoner Fund,” he states, standing up. “I want all officials into this office right this moment.” He pauses, thinking. “And that also includes my mother.”

“Your mother? Why-“

“Just do it.”
Jirou nods before Katsuki adds one more thing. “Also bring the Brat- the Prince Consort here as well.”

Jirou blinks, clear confusion on her face. “Why /him/?”

“He said something fairly interesting earlier today,” replies Katsuki, taking a sip of his coffee. “And I want to
figure out what he may know. So go fetch him as well.”

Jirou makes a face, clearly not happy in going to get the prince, but does as she’s told.

A short while later, some members of his council arrive along with his mother, who doesn’t look pleased.
“Brat, I was just about to head to have my dinner and head off to bed!” She shrieks, making many in the room flinch from her voice. “You better have a good explanation for why I’m here!”

“Sit down, old hag.” Katsuki scowls, pointing to a chair. Mitsuki glares, but sits down with
a huff.

Other council members tentatively either take a seat in on of the couches and chairs or remain standing. It looks like almost everyone is here, all who that is left is his general Kirishima and the Brat Prince himself.

Jirou comes into the room a few minutes later, but
she has come alone. There’s a look on her face as she hurriedly comes to his side, whispering in his ear.

“The Prince Consort is not in his chambers.”

Katsuki’s fists tighten as he hisses out lowly for only him and Jirou to hear. “He’s /what/?”
“Not I his chambers, Your Majesty.” Jirou looks the other way. “Along with… Princess Eri.”

Katsuki feels a vein of his throbbing, knowing exactly where that troublesome prince and his wayward sister went.

“This meeting will be postponed till tomorrow,” he says, standing up and
heading for the door. “You all will be escorted to your designated rooms in the castle and are to remain there. Do you all understand?”

Many nod, but Mitsuki glares. “You gathered up all of us and then suddenly say the meeting is postponed? For what reason?”
Katsuki doesn’t spare her a glance, beginning to walk out.

“You’ll find out at the meeting tomorrow. Now you all are dismissed for the time being.”

He storms out without a second glance behind him, Jirou walking up beside him. “Any word from Kirishima?”

Jirou shakes her head,
sighing. “Yes… He wouldn’t have been able to make it to the meeting tonight. He and his squad are all celebrating the festival tonight. Drinking, gambling, and dancing the night away again.”

Katsuki mutters some curses. Leave it to the red head to be out partying tonight.
“Gather Kaminari and Sero to help me-“

“They’re gone too sir.”

Katsuki pauses, feeling that vein along with his eye twitching. “Are… you… shitting me…?!!”

“A-Are you sure this w-was a good idea, Sir Kaminari?” whispers Eri, who clutches onto Izuku as they walk the barely walkable trail towards the nearest village. “M-My brother will b-be upset we left…”

“Oh don’t worry!” Kaminari chirps, using his sword to slice through low
hanging branches. “Your brother will be too busy in his office tonight and goes to sleep early like an old man. He won’t know we were even gone~!”

Eri seems to relax in Izuku’s arms as they walk the old trail. It’s an abandoned trail that hasn’t been used in two decades.
Sero mutters some obscenities under his breath when he nearly trips over a low hanging branch. “Yeah, great plan…,” he mutters, Izuku trying to keep the atmosphere light.

“We’re almost to the village and I’ll treat you both to dinner when we get there.”
“Aw! You don’t have to, your highness.” Kaminari cuts the last branch and they see the lights and hear the festivities in the village. “There’s a free feast tonight for the commoners to enjoy!”

There’s colorful flags everywhere, many of having the image of the sun on them.
The smell of cooking food fills the air and, despite Izuku’s best efforts, he almost drools. Don’t get him wrong, the food in the castle is wonderful…

But since he was so used to food from the hospital’s canteen, convenience store, and what he could make at home, the castle
food is like a shock to his pallet.

Sometimes he has force the food down his throat and have his stomach become upset from the highly rich food.

So the food he’s smelling is like a Gods send to him.

Eri tugs on his collar. “I-Izuku, I’m hungry.”
Izuku smiles. “Yeah, I’m pretty famished too. The food smells wonderful.”

All four reach the village and there’s music playing along with people dancing with flowers on their heads. Izuku and Eri have hoods over their heads to conceal their identities, but it appears that a lot
of people are either not paying them any mind or drunk off their asses.

They come across a large feasting table with different foods that smell heavenly. “Alright, let’s get some food first shall we?”

Eri enthusiastically nods her head as Izuku sets up her plate.
Izuku makes sure she gets enough food that won’t make her sick. Too rich foods isn’t good for a child’s stomach either.

In his peripheral, he sees Kaminari and Sero grabbing food as well. The music and peoples’ laughter makes him feel at peace.

That is, until…
“Why a pwetty thang like you with ta kid?”

An arm drapes itself around Izuku’s shoulders, the stench of alcohol stinging his nose. An man twice Izuku’s age is leering at him, a smirk on his lips.

Izuku frowns. “Kindly take your arm off of me.”
The man doesn’t heed his warning, leaning in closer towards Izuku. The smell of alcohol is even stronger now.

“Aww, com’on now.” He smirks, his arm moving from Izuku’s shoulder to his hip. “I could show you a good- Ack!”

He’s holding his throat, appearing to be having a hard
time breathing. Sero and Kaminari rush to Izuku and Eri’s side, the princess hiding behind the prince.

Izuku just stares down at the drunkard, admiring his work.

He would, if he ever gets to see her ever again, thank Itsuka for the self defense lessons.
/“If you can’t crush their dick, go for the windpipe.”/

/“Kendo! That is very inappropriate analogy!”/

/“I’d like to see you come up with a better one then, Iida! Haha!”/

Sero looks at Izuku, an awestruck look on his face. Izuku just shrugs.

“Had to shut his mouth somehow.”
Izuku hurriedly scoops Eri and takes her plate of food. “Let’s head somewhere more quiet and without any drunkards around.”

Kaminari and Sero snickers, most likely replaying the scene over and over in their minds. Izuku beelines for a much quieter area when Eri starts coughing.
Izuku immediately gives Eri a handkerchief to cough into. She coughs into it and the doctor in Izuku looks at the color of the mucus.

It’s yellow in color and…

And Izuku sees some blood in the mucus too.
Eri is suffering and, from more information Izuku was able to remember, viral and bacterial pneumonia can usually go away on their own. With enough rest, fluids, and medication for fever and pain, a child can be able to get over pneumonia…

But this… Eri seems to be getting
worse than before.

And the blood in the mucus is only solidifying Izuku’s suspicion of her pneumonia actually being the chemical form.

Someone is purposely making her sick, but why?

Why harm a /child/ and cause her suffering?
Sero is beside Izuku, looking at Eri too. “She doesn’t look so good… Maybe we should take her back and have the Dr. Chisaki look at her again…”

Wait…

Chisaki?

Then Izuku remembers.

/“Kai Chisaki, you are hereby charged along with the other traitors to the crown for illegal
human experimentation and poisoning of innocent people.”/

/Izuku, who was beaten and chained up like the others, looked at the castle doctor. Kai just stood before Katsuki and his remaining council members and Generals, the look in his eyes chilling Izuku to the bone…/
“I want to take her to someone else,” says Izuku, the knights looking at him in confusion.

“But Dr. Chisaki is one of the best in the kingdom,” Kaminari states. “He’s a bit of a germaphobe, but is still a good doctor.”

“But Eri is still sick despite having the /best/ doctor in
the whole kingdom,” argues Izuku, Eri munching on some apple slices he got her. “So I think it’s time for a second opinion from a different doctor.”

He pats her head as she happily munches on her apples. Izuku wants her to have a long, happy life. Unlike in his old one…
“Is there any doctor in this village?” He asks, Sero scratching his chin.

“There is one…” Kaminari and Sero look uncomfortable. This piques Izuku’s interest.

“Is something wrong with this doctor?”

“N-No, he’s actually amazing… But…”

Izuku quirks a brow. “But what?”
“T-The thing is…,” Kaminari starts, now looking a little bit terrified. “Queen Consort Mitsuki has forbidden him from going near Eri.”

Izuku is flabbergasted. “She what?”

Sero scratches the back of his head, looking away. “Not sure why, but she forbids Eri from him.”
“T-That’s insanity!” Eri flinches from his yell, Izuku immediately apologizing. “Sorry Eri, just a little frustrated. Go back to eating.” He turns his attention back to the knights. “Has she done this with other doctors?”

“No, not really,” replies Sero. “She’s just very
particular to Dr. Chisaki.” He leans down and whispers into Izuku’s ear. “There’s a rumor around that Mitsuki and Chisaki have a sexual relationship. Not sure if it’s true or not.”

Izuku hums. “Be as that may, is this doctor Mitsuki banned from any good?”
“He’s good…,” says Kaminari. “But we still can’t take Eri to him…” He leans down and whispers in a conspiratorial tone. “The Queen Consort has eyes and ears on his place of business. So she will know we broke orders

Izuku sighs, running fingers through his hair.
Then an idea comes to mind.

“I’ll take her there myself,” states Izuku, standing up. “But if what you said is true, I think me and Eri need better disguises…”

Kaminari looks panicked. “B-But we can’t leave you both alone. Katsuki will have our hides.”
“Well, I want Eri to see another doctor and this person you speak of is the closest.” He stands, an air of authority coming off him in waves. The knights almost stand at attention, reminding Izuku of the residents and new nurses and doctors he would be in charge of. “So I /will/
be taking her to him whether Mitsuki likes it or not. Now-“

A little ways from where they are, Izuku spots a shop that that has exactly what he is looking for.

“Time for some disguises and-,” he looks at the knights. “giving me the name of this village’s doctor.”
He won’t be taking no for an answer. And he knows the knights know it too…

Sero finally sighs. “His name is Aizawa Shota… He runs a clinic towards the edge of the village to the west. His symbol is of two ravens with the sun in the middle.”
Izuku nods, filing that information away in his brain. "Thank you." He turns to look down at Eri. "Eri, you and me have somewhere important to go for a little while. But we have to play dress up in order to go there."

Her eyes start sparkle in interest. "Dress up?"
"Yeah, dress up." He leads her towards the shop he saw earlier. "And we also have to play pretend too," he explains to the six, almost seven, year old.

She glances up at home curiously. "Pl-Play pretend too? Like me-me playing a kn-knight?"

"Something like that, yes."
He leads her into the shop to purchase what they need.

“Eri, don’t mess with it,” Izuku gently whispers, fixing the dark brown haired wig on Eri’s head. “We need to keep our natural hair underneath them.”

Izuku has dawned on a lighter brown haired wig, smudging
dirt on his cheeks to conceal his freckles and a bit on his clothes. Thankfully they clothes he’s wearing are ones he swiped from the stables at the castle.

He found Eri a simpler dress that most commoner girls wear. They walk hand in hand when he sees the sign with 2 ravens.
It’s a little hole in the wall place, but appears fairly clean on the outside.

He can only pray it’s the same on the inside.

As they walk, Izuku can feel eyes watching his every move, but they don’t keep their watchers’ attention for very long. The disguises are working.
Opening the door, the chime of the bell above the door alerts a guy standing behind the counter.

He looks a few years older than Izuku, messy black hair, a beauty mark on his chin. There’s quite a bit of wrinkles under his gray eyes, a scar on his right eyebrow and the left
corner of his lip.

He looks at them blankly. “Names Tenko… Welcome to the Two Ravens clinic.” He yawns a bit, scratching at his eyes. Izuku observes him doing this, coming to the conclusion that this man might be suffering from a type of Eczema.
“Hello!” Izuku greets him, leading Eri by the hand to the counter. “My sister here hasn’t been feeling very well and I was wondering if the doctor was in to check her.”

Tenko replies, “He’s currently out right now. But I could go ahead and check her in his stead.”
“Are you a doctor?” Izuku asks, curiosity flooding his veins.

“No, I’m one in training,” Tenko answers, taking a clipboard with some papers. “The doctor in charge here is my mentor.”

Izuku nods, Eri clutching onto him as Tenko leads them to one of the exam rooms. Everything
appears to be sterilized and the doctor in Izuku beams in pride at this. Even though the kingdom appears to be a blend of medieval and regency era, he has to remember that this isn’t the Earth he previously lived in.

So everything will be different here. Especially when Tenko
clicks on a light, Eri becoming spooked a bit by this.

‘So, electricity has been invented in this world already huh?’ Izuku muses in his mind, remembering more things.

There isn’t any electricity in the castle yet because electricity is only used for clinics and hospitals.
“Sit her down on the exam table.” Tenko points towards a table covered in a clean cloth. “I’ll check her vitals along with her weight and height.”

Izuku nods before setting Eri on the table. Tenko pulls out a pencil. “Now, can I know the patient’s name and age?”
“Ah, yes!” Izuku thinks, trying to come up with a name quickly. “Her name i-is Arisu! She’s 6!”

Tenko jots that down. “Last name?”

“Oh… We don’t have one… We’re orphans and never knew our parents’ last names.” The lie rolls off Izuku’s tongue so easily.
Tenko nods. “Alright, I’ve seen that often with orphans or people who don’t want to associate a family name to themselves.”

He writes more information down while observing Eri. Izuku does the same. Finally, Tenko glances back up at him.

“How long has she been feeling ill?”
“Oh, she had a flu around a few months ago and it seemed to have gone away.” He looks at Eri, noticing her eye bags are a bit darker now. “But around 7 or so weeks ago, she would have symptoms of chills, fatigue, coughing that produces a mucus, and loss of appetite.”
Tenko writes down what Izuku says, glancing up at him. “Are these symptoms frequent?”

“Sometimes. Some days, she would be getting better and have an appetite.” She was able to stomach some food today. “But then a few days later, she would feel ill and have to lay in bed almost
all day.”

Tenko hums, setting down his clipboard and pencil. “Alright. Thank you for this information.” He then pulls up a rolling chair and sits down, now at Eri’s level. “Arisu, I’m going to be examining you now.”

He gently takes her arm before pulling out a blood pressure
monitor. He wraps it around Eri’s upper arm, her glancing at Izuku. The prince smiles before taking her other hand.

“It’s okay. He’s going to be checking your blood pressure.” Tenko peers over at him.

“I’m surprised you know what this is,” he states. “Not many people know.”
‘Shit, I let my knowledge slip out… But this could be a good opportunity for me…’

Izuku nervously chuckles. “I’ve been studying with books and what I saw the doctor use in another village I used to live at. That’s how I know it.”

Tenko keeps his gaze on him, silent for a
moment before asking, “Are you trying to study to become a doctor?”

Izuku enthusiastically nods, being careful to not send the wig flying off his head. “Yes, to become a doctor is my dream. I want to help save as many lives as I can.”

Tenko smirks a little.
“Nice dream, um?” He looks at Izuku and the green haired man realizes he forgot to give him a name. He decides to go with a shortened version of the name of his mentor who taught him what it takes to be a doctor.

“My names Toshi,”

“Alright, Toshi,” says Tenko, taking Eri’s
pulse. She squirms a bit as Tenko counts with his watch. Izuku reassures her. “Arisu’s pulse seems to be stable.” He takes the BPM off Eri’s arm. “Now I’ll check your nose, ears, and mouth.”

He puts away the BPM and takes out an Otoscope. Eri looks at it warily.
“W-What is that?” Tenko smiles, patting her knee reassuringly. Izuku holds her hand, feeling her tremble a bit.

“This is-“

“It’s a-“

Both men stop, peering at each other. Izuku’s blushes, scratching the back of his head. “S-Sorry…”

“None taken.”
Izuku lets Tenko continue, Eri watching the exchange between the two. He holds up the device.

“As I was trying to explain, this device is an Otoscope. It allows me to see in your nose, ear, and mouth better. Will you allow me to check your ears first?”

Eri blushes a little,
tapping her two index fingers together. She looks at Izuku, who gives her an encouraging nod.

So she nods her head in agreement. Tenko slowly stands before going for her left ear first.

“This may feel strange, but it’ll pass.”

He sterilizes the tip of the Otoscope before
gingerly placing it into her ear and turning on the light for it. Tenko looks into her ear, humming. He takes it out of her ear, sterilizes it again, and the goes to the next ear.

The entire time Eri holds onto Izuku’s hand.

He takes it out of her ear. “Just a bit of ear wax.”
Repeating the same process, he looks into her nostrils. Eri sniffles a bit as Tenko hums again. “I see a bit of burning in her nose…”

Izuku jots that down in his mind, remembering his teacher Shirakumo’s lesson with Chemical Pneumonia.

/“Signs of Chemical Pneumonia can be hard
to spot, but the most common signs are burning of the nose, eyes, and lips. This also includes mouth and throat as well.”/

Tenko takes some notes after checking her nostrils before moving on to her mouth. “Now say ‘Ah’.”

“A-Ah!”

He looks with the Otoscope and a concerned look
crosses his face. He puts away the Otoscope before reaching for a box of sterile gloves. Putting them on his hands, he tentatively begins touching Eri’s tongue.

“Has she been eating anything she wasn’t supposed to?” Tenko asks.

Izuku shakes his head. “No.”
Izuku then asks, “Is something wrong with her mouth?”

Tenko nods. “Her tongue is slightly swollen and her throat appears to have irritation. Has she been anywhere inhaling any chemicals or anything?”

Izuku feels himself turning numb, his suspicions becoming confirmed.
Eri has Chemical Pneumonia…

Someone or something is poisoning her.

But Izuku doesn’t know what she is being poisoned with. His hands turn into fists, shaking a bit. Anger is the first emotion that comes to mind. But he can’t let his emotions rule him.
“She’s been having some stomachaches lately too… Do you think it might be something she ingested?”

Tenko is silent, appearing to be in thought. “It could be possible, but the burning of her throat and nose suggests she might be inhaling something toxic into her body.”
‘So, she must be inhaling something then… But what?’ Izuku mulls over in his mind what Eri could possibly be inhaling to cause her sickness.

Tenko clears his throat. “I’ve seen cases of this before. Some of the afflicted were in houses or businesses who had leaks from
old and neglected gas pipes. Sometimes victims would almost pass out from being in a room for more than a minute.”

This makes Izuku freeze, remembering that Eri’s room is in a more older part of the castle. New pipes had been installed to help heat up her room during the winter.
So could a pipe have broken? Or could there be a possibility that the pipes weren’t replaced at all? Natural gas doesn’t have an odor, so when a leak happens, the victims won’t smell a thing…

In his time on earth, for safety purposes, utility companies would use an additive
called Mercaptan that gives the usually colorless and odorless gas a very disgusting smell. Most describe it as rotten eggs, sewage, or sulfur.

Much like the smell of the emission from paper or pulp mills.

“Did the victims recall any smell from these pipes?”
Tenko shakes his head. “No smell. That’s a problem with using an odorless gas.”

“U-Umm?” Both men look to see Eri giving them a frightened look. “W-What are you t-talking about? I-It sounds scary.”

Izuku’s nurturing instinct kicks in, him immediately consoling her.
“It’s nothing for you to worry about, Arisu,” he says, patting her head. “It’s grown up talk, so don’t mind us. Let’s get finished with the rest of the-“

“Tenko.”

All three turn towards where the new voice came from. A man stands there, black hair a bit disheveled, bags
underneath his eyes, and an overall rather bored expression. Tenko immediately gets up.

“Dr. Aizawa,” he says. “I didn’t think you would be back so soon.”

“I finished my errands early.” Aizawa yawns, glancing at Izuku and Eri. “I see we got some patients.”
Izuku immediately stands up. “My name is Toshi sir.” He holds out his hand. “And you must be the doctor in charge of this clinic?”

“I am.” Aizawa looks him up and down, analyzing him. Then he glances at Eri. “What’s your prognosis of her, Tenko?”

Tenko clears his throat.
“She shows signs and symptoms of the beginning stages of Pneumonia, Dr. Aizawa.”

“And the cause?”

“Toshi here said Arisu here suffered from a flu a few months ago and believed the Pneumonia was a result of it.”

Aizawa walks further into the room, an air of authority that even
Izuku wants to stand at attention. He reminds Izuku of the veteran doctors that used to work at the same hospitals Izuku would do his residencies at.

“Do you believe your hypothesis has changed?”

“Yes sir.” Tenko looks at his chart. “Her ailments suggest her Pneumonia was
caused by an external factor. My conclusion is that she is inhaling a chemical or gas into her lungs, the burning of her nostrils, mouth, and throat backing it up. She also has a slowly swelling tongue.”

Izuku watches, feeling more at home here in the clinic than the castle.
So much so, he doesn’t stop the knowledge from spilling out of his mouth. “I had theories that Arisu had Pneumonia from a type of poisoning due to her symptoms. They weren’t normal symptoms for it. Usually those caused by a virus only last for a while, but can fade away on its
own….” He stops when he feels three pairs of eyes on him.

Mostly from Aizawa and Tenko, making Izuku blush in embarrassment. He looks away, but still feeling the older doctor’s stare.

“You seem to know a lot about diseases,” remarks Aizawa. “Are you training to be a doctor?”
“O-Oh, I just read medical textbooks that I can get my hands on and come up with my own solutions to problems.”

Aizawa stares at him pensively, before reaching into his pocket to pull out a car. He hands it to Izuku. “I believe you would be fit for the medical field.”
Izuku looks down at the card and sees “Yuuei” written on it. He is left speechless because Yuuei is considered an empire despite it only being a medical school and hospital. It even has several branches of hospitals for both nobility and commoners.
Izuku feels so honored to even have a card with the Yuuei name on it. But at the same time, he doesn’t feel like he deserves it after all he’s done.

Then he feels a tug on his arm and he looks down to see Eri smiling up at him. “B-Brother, you are a good doctor! Yo-You take care
of me and tr-treat me like I’m h-here! S-So you are good a-as any doctor!”

He feels himself tearing up at his words as Aizawa clears his throat. “As much as I love sibling relationships, your sister still needs to get through her examination.”

Izuku quickly nods. “Right.”
Eri sits back down on the exam table as Aizawa takes over the examination. Izuku and Tenko watch as the older doctor exams her. The greenette sees something flash through Aizawa’s eyes, but it’s quickly buried.

Soon enough, Eri’s exam is over and done with.
“My conclusion is that /Arisu/ here is suffering from toxins entering her mouth and nose and into her lungs.” He looks at Izuku. “It’s highly recommended that she be removed from where she is inhaling the poison and given pain medication along with an IV drip.”
Izuku nods. “Can do, Dr. Aizawa. How much do I owe-“

“It’s on the house.”

The look Aizawa gives him leaves no room for argument. So he doesn’t push it, but makes sure to slip a few coin into Tenko’s hand as he is led out of the room.

As they are about to set out of the door,
Aizawa pulls Izuku back a bit and whispers to him. “Thank you for bringing her here to me…”

Izuku can only dumbly nod, the relationship between Aizawa and the first princess becoming stranger by the minute. Until it dawns on him.

“Wait, are you-“

“Look at the time,” Aizawa
let’s Izuku go, almost shoving him out the door. “The lanterns will be released soon and the dancing will be commencing afterwards. Don’t want to be late for that. Have a pleasant festival night.”

Before Izuku can say anything, the door is closed behind him.
They stand there for a moment, until Eri tugs on his hand. “I want to see the lanterns!” She smiles at him, her seemingly ignoring the fact that her body was poisoned a bit and will need the IV fluid soon.

Izuku smiles and scoops her up. “Alright, let’s head their now.”
He starts walking towards where he last saw Sero and Kaminari a couple of blocks down the road…

Only to once again encounter the drunk man from earlier.

And he’s not alone.
Izuku immediately is on the defensive, watching two more guys come up behind the man who’s windpipe he jabbed.

“This is the bastard!” the drunker exclaims, but his words strained. Most likely still suffering from the jab Izuku gave him earlier. “Ya gonna pay ya hear me!”
The drunk bastard then pulls out a knife and Izuku goes over every single self defense technique he knows. He had to learn since one patient had stabbed him with a scalpel when he was doing /surgery/ on him.

Izuku glances at the others behind the man. They are bigger than the
prince is and Izuku knows they would overpower him. The smaller man, he could take on. But not the others with how poor Prince Izuku’s physique is.

When Izuku came back, he vowed to regain the muscles he had lost. Prince Izuku’s body is poorly equipped for physical combat.
He needs assistance and Sero and Kaminari are no where in sight. Where are they?

“If you’re looking for those two knight buddies of yours, let’s say some more of my friends are keeping them busy.” The drunk man then glances at Eri. “Those eyes of hers are unusual… Looks like
the red eyes of nobility….”

Red eyes are a special trait that some members the nobility of the Bakugou Kingdom possess. Highly valuable because of how beautiful they can be.

Izuku holds Eri closer as one of the other men chuckles. “We can probably sell her…”
Eri whimpers in Izuku’s arms and his blood begins to boil. He gently sets her down and whispers in her ear. “When I say run and hide, you run and hide. Okay?”

She nods and hides behind him as he turns to face them. “Alright… Run and hide now!!” His yelling startles the men as
well as him charging right for the drunk bastard who barely dodges a kick to his face.

Eri has thankfully run to hide, so Izuku doesn’t have to worry about her. The bastards look taken aback, main instigator getting over his shock before charging with the knife.
Izuku, remembering his self defense training when a weapon is involved, side tracks the man’s outstretched hand with the knife. He grabs the thug’s arm and begins swinging him and tripping him to make him land face first on the ground.

He then twists his arm to make him let go
of the knife. The thug shouts in pain. “Ow! Ow! You crazy bastard!” He glares at the other two. “What are you two waiting for?! Do something!!”

People nearby hear the commotion and see the local drunken menace getting his ass handed to him by a man smaller than him.
The other two men get ahold of themselves and one goes to grab Izuku by the collar of his shirt. He pries Izuku off and dangles him off the ground.

This man is even bigger than the drunk man and stronger.

But Izuku won’t give up and decides to sink his teeth into the man’s
flesh. He makes sure to bite hard until blood begins to seep out of the teeth marks.

The man will most likely need to go to a hospital and clinic now. Izuku knows that human bites are more serious than even a dog’s.

He yowls in pain, his fist connecting with Izuku’s cheek.
Izuku grunts, but only bites down harder. The other man tries to help by punching Izuku in the gut to make him let go.

“Damnit!” He hears one of them curse. “Bastard won’t let go!”

So they keep hitting Izuku, the prince in disguise fighting back. He’s able to deck one of them
in the nose, hearing a satisfying crunch.

Suddenly, a flash of black comes out of the crowd and slams a fist into the biggest guy’s gut. Izuku feels himself being let go as his saver turns and punches the other guy in the gut.

The only one left is the drunk bastard.
“S-Shit…!” He backs away. “I-I thought you were at the borders! What the Hell are you d-doing here?!”

Izuku, now sporting a nasty shiner, looks at his saver and instantly recognizes who he is.

General Kirishima Eijirou.

One of the most loyal and fierce knights in the kingdom.
Izuku vaguely remembers that he was the most genuine person in the palace. That he was the only one that could stop his tantrums half the time and didn’t act openly hostile towards him.

So seeing him glare like this is a whole new experience.

“I came back early with my men.”
He steps towards the drunkard and effortlessly lifts him off the ground as more knights come out of the woodwork. Some gather the men off the ground before bounding them in ropes.

Sero and Kaminari come rushing to Izuku, Sero sporting a bruise on his cheek.
Sero whispers to Izuku. “I’m sorry Prince Consort. We were ambushed by some men from a gang we thought we disbanded.”

Izuku tries to smile, but winces a bit from his face wounds. Then he feels someone hug him.

It’s Eri.

And she’s now crying a bit.
He pats her on the back as she sniffles. “Y-You’re hurt…! Those b-bad men hurt you!”

“It’s okay. Those bad men are under arrest now.”

He watches as Kirishima finishes tying the last man up before those red eyes, a bit darker than Katsuki’s, glance at him. The raven haired man
makes his way to Izuku and the others. “Looks like they did a number on you, sir.” He pounds his fist against his heart. “I’m sorry my men and I didn’t arrive sooner.”

“It’s alright.” Izuku goes to stand when an hand is offered to him. He looks up to see Kirishima smiling.
Izuku takes the offered hand and Kirishima helps him up. Eri then clutches onto his leg, the red eyed knight looking down at her. Then he glances back up at Izuku.

“I think we need to go somewhere private.” He then whispers to Izuku. “Your highness.”
Izuku feels taken aback, wondering how Kirishima knew who he is. And, from his memories, he doesn’t meet Kirishima until later on this year.

But the man did mention he came back early from the border…

The prince decides to act dumb for now. “I’m sorry, I don’t know what you
mean.”

Kirishima looks at him for a moment, but Izuku swears he hears him mutter something under his breath.

“…. Still the same….”

“Did you say something?”

Shaking his head, Kirishima grins at him as he, Sero, and Kaminari escort Izuku and Eri to a less populated area.
Once out of earshot, Kirishima folds his arms across his chest. “I didn’t think my King’s consort would be taking on thugs in the village.” He shakes his head. “Brave, but pretty stupid thing of you to do by yourself.”

He then proceeds to poke Izuku’s cheek, making him wince.
“We’ll have you fixed up when we head back to the castle.”

“But we still haven’t seen the la-“

“Look big brother!” Eri exclaims in glee, looking towards the sky. Izuku follows her line of sight. And he lets out a small gasp at the beautiful sight in the sky.
People have released their lanterns and not only can he see the ones from this village, but from others as well.

He stares, so mesmerized by them, he fails to notice the warm smile Kirishima gives him and longing in his eyes…

The ride back to the castle fills Izuku with dread. Eri is asleep beside him, her cheek squished against his arm. He pats her back, gazing out the window as the castle becomes closer.

Some lanterns from the village have made their way towards the castle, their beautiful glow
still so enchanting.

Sero, Kaminari, and Kirishima are all on horseback, surrounding the carriage they were able to rent.

It’s thankfully a fairly simple carriage and not one of those highly luxurious ones Izuku rode in when he first arrived at the castle.
The King wasn’t happy to see him and he knows he won’t be happy now. If he knows that he and Eri snuck out that is…

Hopefully he doesn’t know.

Izuku doesn’t want to deal with him bitching him out for taking his sister out for once to have fun.

And go to another doctor.
The carriage comes to a stop, still in the edge of the forest where it can’t be seen. The door opens and Kirishima pops his head in.

“We will have to walk from here, if that is alright with you, Prince Consort.”

Izuku nods. “That’s quite fine.” He scoops up Eri into his arms.
She cuddles him like a Koala, gripping his shirt in her sleep. He smiles, patting her head. Kirishima clears his throat.

“I could hold her for you,” he says, a grin on his face. “Your arms must be swore from punching those bastards.”

Izuku gently shakes his head. “No, I’m fine
with carrying her. It’s no problem with me.”

It’s not a problem with him at all. He has been secretly lifting weights when he first awoken back in this world. So carrying her isn’t hard at all.

“Oh, okay, let’s-“

“There the fuck you bastards are!!”
Izuku looks up in time to see Katsuki storming their way from the castle. His assistant Jirou is on his heels as Kaminari hides behind Sero.

“Hiding won’t save you from my wrath, Dunce Face!” Katsuki bellows, Kaminari wincing. Red eyes go to glare at Izuku. “And you-“
Suddenly, he stops, eyes staring at Izuku’s face.

Izuku is confused by the King’s actions. Usually Katsuki would go on a tangent when angered.

But now he’s eerily silent, those eyes not leaving his face. Then it dawns on Izuku.

Katsuki is looking at the bruises on his face.
There’s a look in his eyes that Izuku can’t quite decipher, but those red eyes quickly turn back towards Kaminari.

“Dunce face, you will be punished severely because I know this was your idea,” Katsuki snarls out. “You will be cleaning the horse stalls, latrines, and training
halls.”

Kaminari looks like he would rather face death than do what Katsuki punished him with. Katsuki then turns to Sero. “You will be joining your partner in crime as well.”

Sero pales at this, but doesn’t say anything. Kirishima clears his throat.

“I shall escort the Prince
Consort to his chambers, your Majesty.”

“No.”

Izuku and the others are surprised by Katsuki’s answer. Even the King himself looks shocked by his answer, but it quickly goes away as he continues.

“I’ll take him there myself.”

Katsuki has no clue why he even said he would escort the Brat Prince to his chambers. But here he is, escorting the man who is carrying his sister in his arms.

Glancing back, he can see that the Prince’s knuckles have bruises marring his skin. Some open cuts as well.
He never thought he would live to see the day where the Midoriya Izuku has cuts and bruises from obviously a fight.

Katsuki’s eyes then land on his sister. “We will stop by and drop Eri off in her chambers f-“

“No,” replies Izuku instantly. “Her room is on the other side of the
castle. She will be in my room tonight.”

Katsuki stares incredulously at Izuku. Anger begins to bubble up inside him. “Listen here, I’m the King and what I say-“

“And I’m your fucking husband,” Izuku bites back. “So my words are also law. Am I right?”
Katsuki is taken aback by this, seeing the scowl on the Prince’s face that holds no room for any argument. He scowls right on back.

“Listen here you little-“

“Also,” Izuku just walks on passed him, “some maids have been complaining of headaches when working in Eri’s room. So if
I were you, I would probably have someone check her room for anything that might be causing these symptoms. I will not have her in there with her poor health.”

Katsuki is once again flabbergasted at Izuku’s attitude towards him. So much so, it takes him a minute to process.
Once he’s done lagging, his ears turn red in anger from being talked over like this. Especially by that /brat/!

He stalks after Izuku, feeling anger that the Prince is the one leading now and Katsuki having to watch his back. “Oi, I’m the fucking King and you don’t-“
Izuku turns on his heel, now looking at Katsuki dead in the eye.

He has a bored and, honestly, irritated expression on his face. “My apologies, my /King/.” He does a mock bow, careful with Eri in his arms. “How idiotic of me to give you information you failed to realize.”
Katsuki is ready to explode at this man. His hands are itching to wrap around that Prince’s throat. How dare this brat mock him like this?! Izuku continues talking.

“Now, if you still don’t have anything important to say, I will take my leave then.”

They are already at Izuku’s
bedchambers and Izuku is about to enter it when Katsuki snags his free wrist. Izuku glances at him, a sigh escaping his lips. “I’m frankly tired, your Majesty. And so is Princess Eri. Now if you please-“

“You don’t order me around,” Katsuki says, leaning in close towards Izuku.
“You disobeyed my orders and then, judging by the state of your face, you got into some trouble and involved my sister in this mess.”

Izuku glares. “I wanted-“

“There you go again. You flaunt the word “want” around a lot. That’s one of the things that hasn’t changed about you.”
Those green eyes glare daggers at him. “You and your mother were cooping her up-“

“There’s a godsdamn reason for that…!” He whispers harshly, seeing his sister’s face scrunch up at the noise. “You’ve probably already know, but tell me. What color are my eyes?”
Izuku looks at him incredulously. “What are you going on about, your-“

“Answer my damn question.”

The greenette sighs, rolling his eyes a bit. “Red, your Majesty. But what does that have to do with-“

“And the Princess’s eyes? What color are they?”

“Oh for the love of- red!
Are you satisfied? What does that have to do with cooping up a small child from the rest of the world for? For her eye color? That’s-“

“Absurd I fucking know.” Katsuki rolls his eyes. “Our eyes are considered priceless on the black market and will do anything to obtain them.”
Izuku opens his mouth to speak, but Katsuki stops him. “Our eye color is only found in the Bakugou Kingdom amongst the Royal Family and nobility that are distantly related to the Royal Family.”

He leans into Izuku’s face, staring into those defiant eyes. “So people from the
black market only see a price tag on our eyes and try all sorts of ways to get to a noble or Royal Family member. So now do you understand why Eri has been kept here?”

Izuku backs away from him slightly, looking away from him for a second.

“Could have told me this sooner.”
Katsuki crosses his arms. “Because I don’t and /still/ don’t trust you,” he states, rubbing his temple. “This is draining. I had an important meeting today, but you were fucking absent.”

Izuku looks at him curiously. “Meeting? What meeting?”

Katsuki sighs, irritation flooding
his veins. “It was an important one and my attendant Jirou went to go get you when we discovered that you weren’t in the castle. So the meeting has been postponed until the morning.”

“Can I least know what the meeting is about and why I would be allowed in a meeting?”
/Since you and the others don’t trust me./ is the silent words that Katsuki is able to hear. He just turns on his heel, walking down the hall.

“Maybe if you actually join us outside your bedchamber in the morning, you’ll found out. Now good fucking night.”
Katsuki doesn’t stick around to see Izuku’s expression, but hears the door being shut a little bit harsher than necessary. He rubs his temple, feeling the bags underneath his eyes.

This Prince is giving him a migraine.

Ordering him around like he’s the king and Katsuki is the
Prince Consort.

He sighs again before slowly pulling out a ring with a white sapphire with hints of blue… A hearty laugh from his memory calls to Katsuki before he sadly puts the ring away.

“Maybe in another life we could have been together… Just not in this one…”
He wanders the halls of the castle when he sees a maid wearing a cloth face mask coming from the direction of Eri’s bedchamber.

“Oi, what are you doing here this late at knight?”

“Oh my liege!” The maid bows. “I went to replace the Princess’s bed sheets for bed.”
“What’s the mask for then?” He points to her mask.

“Oh! Dr. Chisaki ordered that all maids wear masks when attending Princess Eri. To protect her due to her poor health.”

Katsuki nods, seeing the logic in that. But something festers inside him.

/“Some maids have been
complaining of headaches when working in Eri’s room.”/

That Prince’s voice taunts him like it did in his study earlier today. So he decides to shut it off by asking, “Has any other maid recently complained of any sort of headache or other ailment while working my sister’s room?”
The maid hums, appearing to be in deep thought. But she then says, “As a matter of fact, a maid three days ago said she wasn’t feeling well after working in the old wing of the castle.”

Katsuki feels his blood pressure going up. “Have other maids that work in the old wing say
anything about feeling ill?”

The maid nods. “One had a bout of dizziness and had to step outside for a moment. Another was a bit confused and claimed she had a migraine along with a stomachache. Dr. Chisaki said we are most likely catching a head cold along with a stomach bug.”
“Did those happen in the last three days?” Katsuki asks, suspicion now growing inside him. The maid shakes her head side to side.

“No, it would happen over a span of a week or more. The Doctor-“

“Yeah, yeah, Dr. Chisaki says it’s a stomach virus.” But Katsuki doesn’t believe
that. He glances towards Eri’s room and makes his decision.

“Y-Your Majesty?” The maid calls out to him as he trudges towards his sister’s room.

He opens it and steps inside. It’s been a while since he was last in here. There were some old stuffed animals piled high on the bed.
A small bookcase full of children’s books, some looking worn. A practice tea set on the coffee table. Her vanity’s mirror sparkles in the small amount of moonlight from one of the two lone windows in the room.

Since this part of the castle is old, the windows are stained glass
with scenery of gardens long ago destroyed during one of many wars the Bakugou Kingdom had taken part in.

They are also windows that don’t open because they are cemented into the brick of the castle. So the room is a bit stuffy. He will have to look into replacing those windows.
So far, everything appears normal…

Nothing really disturbed and Katsuki now thinks that the Prince Consort was over exaggerating…

That is, until he goes to turn around and the world starts spinning a bit. He has to clutch onto the dresser to keep him upright.
What the Hell…?

“Y-Your Majesty!” The same maid calls out, Katsuki feeling nauseous and the dizziness disorienting him. He feels his hand being grabbed and being slowly led out of the room. “Your Majesty! Are you starting to feel ill?”

Katsuki breathes in and out as she leads
him further down the hall. He glances back at Eri’s room once the dizziness subsides. That is not normal.

Something is very wrong.

“This wing to be off limits to /everyone/. Gather every servant that’s still in this wing and calmly evacuate to another.”
“Y-Yes your Majesty!” The maid squeaks out, scurrying away after Katsuki’s dizziness subsides. He rubs his temple.

It’s one problem after another.

He slowly makes his way to his study, knowing it’s a lot closer than his room. Looks like he’ll be sleeping there again tonight.
And he instantly regrets it when he wakes up on one of the couches in the study, his back groaning in pain.

He rubs the sleep from his eyes as Jirou comes barging into his study.

“Your Majesty! Why has the old wing been evacuated for?” Jirou glares at him. “And one of the maids
said you nearly collapsed while being in Eri’s room. Why didn’t you go to the infirmary?!”

Katsuki now has a pounding headache from her squawking. “Shut it! I’ll explain and I didn’t feel like going to the infirmary-“

“Oh please. It’s your fear of-“

“Don’t you finish that.”
Jirou crosses her arms over her chest. “You really need to get over this phobia of going to the doctor. You don’t even like going to the army doctor when you got impaled!”

Katsuki just rubs his forehead again. “Never mind that… What time is it anyways?”

Jirou pulls out and
glances at her pocket watch.

“Almost 9am sir…”

Katsuki gets up, cracking the stiffness out of his back. “There’s a problem in the old wing that has been causing health problems for the staff and the Princess as well.”

Jirou is shocked. “What could be the problem?”
“I don’t know. But we will find out soon enough.” Katsuki leaves the study and goes to change into some fresh clothes. But he would have to pass the hall containing the Prince’s room.

Just thinking of the Prince makes Katsuki’s pride hurt because, once again… He was right about
something.

He knew something was wrong with the staff before Katsuki did. It’s not like Katsuki can monitor everything because that jurisdiction falls under-

His mother…

“This is the water we brought you and this is the warmest we could bring!” Katsuki suddenly hears from the
shout coming from the Prince’s room. Curiosity begins to nag at him to check on what the hell is going on.

He goes closer and hears Izuku speak. “This water one of your maids brought is freezing cold. Nearly froze my hands, Lady Housekeeper.”
Katsuki peeks inside the room to see Izuku, in a simple robe and cotton trousers, standing before the Housekeeper, Lady Inoue.

Lady Inoue appears to be in a snit, her frown deepening on her face. “I can assure you, /Prince Consort/,” she practically sneers out, “that the water
is perfectly fine. I know it’s not quite as… /wonted/ as you are used to. So please stop making unnecessary fuss over something as mundane as water being brought to your room.”

Katsuki almost let’s out a loud huff. Just when he thinks that-

“Then you wouldn’t mind testing out
the water then, Lady Inoue?”

The king looks right back in to see the determined smile on Izuku’s face and Lady Inoue’s eyes widen in shock. She even lets out a stuttering reply.

“I-I beg your pardon?” Lady Inoue now appears very discomfit by Izuku’s proposal.
Izuku points towards a small basin that is full of water. “I said to test the water, Lady Inoue. Unless,” he looks at her with an expression that sends chills even down Katsuki’s spine, “there is something wrong with it?”

Lady Inoue pales a bit. “No sir…” She adjusts herself,
trying to make herself look more composed. “As I said, there is nothing wrong with the water.”

Izuku gives her a look before calmly walking towards the basin, appearing to be picking it up before Katsuki finally decides to step in.

“What the Hell is going on here?”
Lady Inoue looks shocked, immediately doing a curtsy. “Your Majesty! W-When did you arrive?”

Katsuki glances at the woman, who trembles a bit underneath his stare. He calmly replies, “Enough.” He then gazes at the basin of water and notes that there is no steam coming off the
surface of the water. Katsuki marches over, seeing the bewildered look on Izuku’s face. Then Izuku bows reluctantly.

“Your Majesty…,” he says, his tone suggesting he didn’t expect Katsuki at all. “I’m sorry if our argument disturb-“

“You claim that the water in the basin is
freezing cold?” Katsuki asks, sounding more like a demand. Izuku is silent before nodding his head in acknowledgment.

“Yes, your Majesty.”

“Y-Your Majesty!” Lady Inoue stutters out, quickly composing herself again. “I explained to the Prince Consort that the wa-“ Before she can
even finish her sentence, Katsuki plunges some of his fingers into the water. She and Izuku cry out in alarm as Katsuki bites his lip a bit.

This water is absolutely freezing cold.

Like this basin of water was stored in one of the castle’s iceboxes for several hours.
Katsuki takes out his fingers and glares at Lady Inoue. The woman fidgets uncomfortably underneath his glare.

“Lady Inoue,” he says, seeing her flinch. “Care to explain why this water is so ice cold? And don’t try to weasel your way out of this by lying.”
She looks away for a moment, but then turns back to glare past Katsuki at Izuku. “My reasoning may be treasonous, but… /That/,” she points at Izuku, “has no right to be here. He stole your fiancé’s rightful place in this kingdom and castle.”

Katsuki sees Izuku flinch in the
corner of his eye. But the Prince Consort keeps his composure as the woman continues to berate him.

“He ruined several peoples’ lives for his own selfish desires and made our glorious kingdom be in a marriage alliance with his nearly bankrupt one.” There’s a look in her eyes
that is full of unbridled rage and she begins to lose her composure. “Which he caused himself and he will do it again to this one! Just wait! This little act of his will-“

“That is enough, Lady Inoue.” She halts at Katsuki’s command, the King glaring at her.
“Your behavior and treatment of a member of the Royal Family is unacceptable,” he states calmly, seeing the broken look on her face. “You are hereby suspended until a further investigation is conducted to decide your fate. You are dismissed.”

“B-But your-“

“You are dismissed.”
He points to the door and Lady Inoue briskly, albeit reluctantly, walks towards the door when Izuku speaks up.

“Did I… hurt anyone close to you?”

Katsuki a bit stunned the Prince Consort asking such a thing. But his own curiosity is piqued.
She slightly turns, her hands turned into shaking fists. She lets out a snarl. “Yes… Akari… You may not even remember that name, but I do… She was my sister after all…”

With that, she walks out the door and slams the door behind her.
Katsuki sighs out in frustration. So she was taking revenge out on the Prince Consort then…

While Katsuki isn’t his biggest fan, he doesn’t see any justification in her actions. She was harassing a member of the Royal Family and would have potentially hurt him.
That water was freezing cold and he still feels the burning sensation in his fingertips. Not as bad as before, but still there. He glances to see that Eri is still fast asleep.

Yesterday’s activities must have knocked her out cold.

Next, he turns to look at Izuku, only to see
that he has a haunted look in his eyes. Katsuki is stunned that such a look can appear on the Prince Consort’s face.

But that look is quickly buried underneath a calm façade. Izuku looks at him too. “Thank you, Your Majesty.” He bows. “I’m sorry for the trouble.”
Katsuki, for whatever reason, feels something tug in his chest at the sight. Clearly Izuku is trying to mask his emotions, bottling them up unlike how he usually is with the King.

And Katsuki realizes… he doesn’t like it.

So he flicks Izuku’s in the forehead.
Izuku is clearly startled, holding his forehead. “Ow! What was that for?”

“Quit making that face,” says Katsuki, Izuku staring at him like he lost his mind. Maybe he has, but he keeps going. “Don’t let her words get to you. She’s just trying to hurt you even more.”
“Could have just said it though,” the Prince mumbles, rubbing his probably sore forehead now. “But really, I’m fine. I shall meet you in the meeting-“

“The dining hall.”

Izuku blinks. “Excuse me? There’s an important-“

“After breakfast in the dining is when the meeting shall
take place.” He strides towards the door, opening it. “You have missed several of them and quite frankly, that just makes others more suspicious and wary of you.”

He looks back at Izuku, a smirk crossing his face. “So making the “Phantom” Prince Consort come to the dining hall
will startle the shit out of people and make my mother stop her asinine caterwauling about you not showing up.”

Izuku puffs out his cheeks. “I’m not a Phantom…”

Katsuki looks him up and down. “Really? Could have fooled me.” He walks out and shuts the door just as he hears what
sounds like a pillow being thrown at the wood.

Katsuki has to cover his mouth to keep a laugh at bay just imagining the look on the Prince’s face. Probably cursing his very existence.

But just as quickly, he stomps down the feeling bubbling inside him.

Once the King is gone, Izuku goes to collapse on the bedroom sofa. He sighs, rubbing his forehead. He remembers Lady Inoue’s words well.

Inoue Akari.

He never thought he would hear that name again. She was a simple servant girl that worked in the dining area of his family’s
castle.

That was, until that one night…

Izuku shakes himself, not wanting to remember that night at all. The memory of what happened haunts him still. Sighing, he decides to look through his clothes and find something suitable to wear to the dining room.
Eri is still asleep in bed as Izuku rummages quietly through some trunks of his. To his eyes, a majority of the clothing looks so historical.

He was so used to modern day clothes of t-shirts, jeans, sneakers, scrubs, and the doctor’s white coat that now…
Most of the clothes appear to be, if he was back on earth, dated towards Victorian fashion. Yet there’s mixes of different fashions as well.

So Izuku decides to pick the least gaudy clothes in his possession. But ones that won’t make him look like one of the stable boys.
“Big brother…” Izuku turns to see Eri waking up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. She asks, albeit sleepily, “What are you doing….?”

Izuku smiles. “Have to go attend breakfast with the Queen Consort and his majesty in the dining hall today.”

He pulls up some clothes.
“And I think I found the outfit to wear.”

It’s a simple beige dress shirt with a golden vest and black petticoat. He found some white pants to go along with the outfit. A simple, but elegant outfit. Image
Eri perks up a bit after Izuku gets done dressing up. “That looks really good on you, Big Brother.”

Izuku blushes a little, patting her on the head. He isn’t used to compliments, especially back in his other life as a doctor.

He never really focused on his appearance except
to look presentable in front of patients. Other than that, Izuku had turned down many men and women that asked him out.

He gave out the same excuse too.

/“I’m sorry, but I want to focus on my career and have no time to go on any dates or have relationships.”/
“Thank you, Eri.” He takes his hand off her head. “I’m heading to the dining hall for breakfast with his majesty and your mother. Would you like to come with me or stay here?”

Eri shimmies her way out of the bed, trying to fix her hair. Her eyes sparkle a bit. “I’ll come!”
Izuku smiles. “Alright, let’s go to your room then and get some of your-“

Two maids suddenly come in, carrying what appears to be clothes. The first maid, a brunette, bows. “Sorry for the intrusion, we brought some clothes from Lady Eri’s room and will bring more shortly.”
Raising an eyebrow, he says, “Thank you. We were on our way to her chambers to retrieve some clothing for her.”

“That won’t be possible, your majesty,” replies the other maid. Izuku looks at her quizzically.

“Is there a reason why.”

“Yes, your Majesty. His kingship had ordered
that the entirety of the old wing containing the Princess’s bedroom to be evacuated and closed off.”

Izuku hums.

Looks like the King was swayed by his words after all. And just in time too.

Because within a week from today… Princess Eri would have died in her sleep.
The maid lays out a pretty dress for Eri to wear and both maids assisting in dressing her up.

Izuku waits outside in the hall when a familiar voice calls out to him.

“Good morning, Prince Consort.”

The prince smiles. “Good morning to you too, General Kirishima.”
Kirishima grins widely, his eyes sparking in mischief. "I see you haven't done a morning escapade, Prince Consort." Izuku snorts at this, his smile growing wider.

"Who knows, I might if the Queen Consort's squawking makes me want to."

The general coughs, covering a laugh.
"Careful Prince Consort," laughs Kirishima, "don't want the Queen Consort or her little birdies to hear ya."

Izuku lets out a little laugh of his own. "Only if she were to really pay attention to the "Brat Prince" instead of the latest fake products merchant sell her."
Kirishima raises an eyebrow. "Fake items? How do you knoow that they are fakes?"

"Well," says Izuku, remembering the last items Mitsuki bought, "those ruby earrings she's been are made out of stained glass. The vase with the rare painting on it doesn't have his watermark. There
are lots of things that tells you it's a fake if you know what to look for."

Izuku watches Kirishima's jaw begin to drop in amazement. "You... are a truly remarkable person, Prince Izuku. I don't think I've ever met anyone like you."

A blush coats Izuku's cheeks.
“Oh, so are you a flatter now?” Izuku says with amusement, Kirishima’s grin showing his abnormally sharp teeth. If Izuku was a dentist, he would like to study the shit out of Kirishima’s mouth.

Those words… did not come out right and he somehow blushes harder.
“Is something wrong, Your Majesty?” Kirishima inquires, his hand suddenly reaching out to place itself on Izuku’s forehead. “Your temperature seems to be a bit high. I hope you aren’t running a fever.”

“N-Nope!” Izuku stutters out, turning his head away. “No fever here!”
‘What the hell is wrong with me?’

Izuku takes a small glance at Kirishima. He’s taller than him and, if he and the King were to stand next to each other, he would be taller than Katsuki is.

He’s wearing a red and gold uniform that looks really good on him.

(This, but in red) Image
Izuku almost smacks himself on the face to calm his thoughts down. He is /not/ looking for any relationships right now. Especially when he’s stuck in a marriage to a man who hates his guts.

Maybe after he finally divorces Katsuki… /MAYBE/.
Just then, Eri comes bounding out into the hall wearing a cute floral and plaid dress that just makes her more adorable. Her silver hair is in a simple ponytail.

Kirishima bows to Eri.

“Good morning, your highness.”

Eri, startled, hides behind Izuku.

(Her dress) Image
“H-Hello,” she stutters out, her becoming shy and hiding behind Izuku more. Kirishima nervously scratches the back of his head.

Izuku looks at him apologetically. “She becomes shy around those she hasn’t had much contact with.”

Kirishima nods. “Understandable. Since she is out
here now, shall I escort both of you to the dining hall?”

He holds out his arm, Izuku hesitantly wrapping his hands around his bicep. And it’s a thick bicep too.

Izuku immediately shoves those other thoughts away as the General escorts both him and Eri towards the dining hall.
Izuku hears Mitsuki’s voice before he even gets to the dining room.

“Are you sure that brat is coming this time?!” She bellows. “He has caused quite enough trouble as it is!”

“Can it old hag! I’m not in the mood for your attitude today.”
The Queen Consort’s loud huffing makes Izuku roll his eyes a bit as he, Eri, and Kirishima enter the room.

The room turns quiet, the other people sitting at the table staring at them. Mostly at Izuku. He knows what they are all thinking.

He came out of his room after all.
[A/N: I totally screwed up and confused the terms for Mitsuki’s title. She’s supposed to be Queen Dowager. So I’ll be using that term from now on.]

Izuku feels awkward with all the staring as Kirishima escorts him to an available seat. The table arrangement is more like three
tables combined into one to make a square U shape. The monarchy, like the reigning King and Queen, Queen and King Dowager, princes, and princesses, sit at the very head.

Everyone else, like the high council, sit at either side based on rank from Duke down to Lord.
Kirishima escorts him and Eri along, feeling the questioning stares and glowers pointing at his back. Izuku ignores them, the General giving him a reassuring pat on the hand.

He smiles a bit and he looks towards the head to see Katsuki looking at them with a frown.
There’s something in his eyes Izuku can’t pinpoint exactly. But it looks similar to how Kendo would get whenever someone tried to flirt with her fiancée, Momo.

But that can’t be it.

As far as Izuku is aware, Katsuki isn’t the jealous type.
Not unless it involved his ex-fiancé and hearing anything about anyone attempting to get with him.

“Take your damn seats,” grumbles out Katsuki, Izuku letting go of Kirishima to settle himself down in the chair beside Katsuki. He can feel the man’s irritation leaking out of his
body like a furnace. Most likely still pissed that Izuku is sitting there and not his ex-fiancé.

‘Not like I want to sit here too, buddy.’

Eri sits beside him as Kirishima goes to take a seat where a Marquis would sit.

‘Strange,’ Izuku thinks. ‘Last time I remember, Kirishima
was a Viscount… He must have changed ranks recently.’

Once everyone is seated, servers come in with trays of delicious smelling dishes that make Izuku’s mouth water. Steaming sausages links, sunny side up eggs, toasted bread rolls, and some preserves, apple by the scent, is
served before him.

It takes all his willpower to not start digging in. This looks better than the heavy, rich dinners he is usually served. With everyone given their meals, some of the servants begin to leave while others stayed behind to refresh drinks or help in other ways.
It’s a bit terse at the table, the sounds of clinking silverware being the only thing to fill the air.

But it doesn’t mean that no one isn’t talking. Izuku can read the lips of some of the guests.

/“Can’t believe he is even here…”/

/“He looks so different than the last time
I saw him.”/

/“Quite right. He was so… gaudy and rude. Now he just sits up there quietly, like a little mouse.”/

/“Except mice make noise. He’s more of a Phantom than anything else.”/

/“Hehehe, the Phantom Consort. Such a fitting name for him.”/
Izuku just ignores them, much like the newer doctors and nurses that would gossip about him at the hospital. Let them think all they want.

At least Phantom Consort sounds better than the Brat Prince.
He takes a bite out of the sausage and hums a bit in delight. This earns him a giggle from the Queen Dowager.

Raising an eyebrow and swallowing his food, he kindly asks, “Is something amusing you, Queen Dowager?”

Mitsuki smirks his way, the same red eyes like her son staring
at him in amusement.

“Oh, just a slip of the tongue,” she replies, pulling out a fan as everyone falls silent. “It’s just that, I couldn’t help but notice your love of the food.”

“Is there a problem with liking the food?”

“No,” those eyes of hers dart down to his plate, “I’m
just afraid that you might choke with the way you’ve been inhaling it.”

Mitsuki smiles wider, like she didn’t just insinuate that she wanted him to choke on his food.

Izuku knows she’s trying to rile him up, so he doesn’t deign her another glance.
He can hear her huffing under her breath that Izuku didn’t snag onto her baiting. But two can play at this game.

“The chefs worked hard on the meal… But it seems you’re not enjoying it as much as the rest of us, Queen Dowager.” He smiles at her. “It would be insulting all their
hard work that they had put into this meal.” He takes a bite out of a roll with preserves on it, swallowing it before continuing, “So I wouldn’t let all that food go to waste and not be enjoyed.”

He goes back to his meal, Mitsuki fuming in her seat.

Back to the top:
Izuku likes to observe people at the oddest times. With years of medical school and residency, it’s been hardwired into his nerves.

‘Hmm, it seems like Lord and Lady Ogawa seem to be suffering the first stages of arthritis, the Lord more so…’
His gazes switches over to another person, a Lieutenant of the southern knights brigade. Shinsou Hitoshi if he remembers correctly.

‘He seems to have bouts of insomnia judging by the bags underneath his eyes… He really needs sleep.’
A sniffling nose catches his attention and he glances over at the Dowager Queen. She’s dabbing her nose with a handkerchief a servant gave her.

Izuku would have chocked this up to her reacting to the sausage because it does have a bit of spice to it.
But he knows better.

She’s devoured spicier stuff than this and never once had to blow her nose or dab at it with a handkerchief. So something else is going on.

“Take this and wash it for me…!” She whispers to the servant, agitation riddling her tone.
Runny nose: check

Agitation: check

And, if Izuku were to bet money on this, there are pills in her room to help with insomnia. He knows exactly what’s wrong with her and now knows why she keeps Kai around.

She’s an opium addict.

And Kai is the one supplying it to her.
He hides how excited he is by disguising it as his love for the food. And it truly is good food too.

It wouldn’t look good that the Dowager Queen of the Bakugou Kingdom, who are notoriously against opium, were to be found out as being an opium addict.
And that the castle’s doctor has been the one to smuggle it to her while performing other inhumane experiments along with smuggling other illegal drugs.

Izuku decides to keep it to himself… For now.

But he won’t be silent forever.
One day, he will leave out a few pieces of evidence for Katsuki and the high council to find both Mitsuki and Kai guilty. But not right now.

Let her keep thinking that the “Brat Prince” doesn’t know anything about her addiction and Kai’s crimes that she helps conceal.
A servant comes up beside Izuku and pours him a drink. Izuku smiles, quietly thanking them. A blush forms on their cheeks as they back away from him to go back to the kitchen. He takes a sip and almost gags when the taste hits his tongue.

He forgot that things like orange juice,
apple juice, and any other juice weren't stable drinks during breakfast. At least for the adults.

What he had been given is watered down beer.

'I totally forgot about this since I always requested tea with my breakfast...'

He gently pushes the cup away, continuing on eating
his breakfast. That is until...

"So, /Prince Consort/," an annoying voice says, Izuku feeling his bood pressure rising. He knows that voice any where. "How has your /delightful/ stay at the castle been so far?"

Izuku feels his eye twitch, glancing at the source himself.
Viscount Monoma Neito.

A blonde haired man with periwinkle hued eyes scream mischief and to cause Izuku misery. But Izuku only smiles before responding, "My stay has been good. The servants are lovely people and the castle gardens are one of my favorite places to spend my time
in. How has /your/ stay at the castle been, Viscount Monoma."

Monoma seems taken aback by Izuku's answer, but schools his features. "Wonderful, Prince Consort. And the gardens are quite lovely, so I'm a little... surprised."

"Surprised how, Viscount?"
"Well-"

"Viscount Monoma," Kirishima snaps all of a sudden, "save all your unpleasant gossip until your next tea party your mother will be hosting." He looks at Izuku. "I'm sorry for how poorly the Viscount has been acting. Please do forgive him."

"Oh, not a problem at all
since there is /nothing/ to be /forgiven/ for." Izuku looks Monoma in the eye, his cheerful desposition concealing his annoyance. "I never listen nor believe such notings until I have all the facts before making judgement. Don't you agree, Viscount?"

Monoma appears nervous now.
"Yes... Prince Consort."

Thankfully, Monoma goes back to eating his meal when Izuku hears a snort beside him.

"Should have made him grovel at your feet," Katsuki grumbles, having finished his meal. "The man never learns when to shut up, so he'll most likely do it again in the
future."

Izuku is a bit surprised. This has probably been around the second time or so that the king hasn't yelled at him before actually talking. All he does is nod his head.

"He clearly has bouts of narcissim that can truly grate ones nerves. But I can handle him in myown way
and you can handle him in yours."

Katsuki only grunts in acknowledgement before raising from his chair. Utensils are hastily put down as servants go to gather the silverware and plates. He begins speaking.

"Alright, as of this moment, the High Council meeting shall commence in
the next room. So no dwandling and head over there now."

Izuku goes to stand as a servant goes to take Eri to one of her early morning etiquette classes. She hugs Izuku's leg. "Can't you c-come w-with me t-today?" She gives him her dreaded puppy eyed look.
Izuku feels his heart hurt a bit at the look, but has to remain strong. Katsuki, surprisingly, speaks to Eri.

“You have duties as a Princess Eri while the Prince Consort and I have ours to attend to. So he can not stay with you for now. Do you understand?”

Eri nervously nods.
“Y-Yes, Your Majesty.”

The servant kindly takes Eri away and Izuku sadly watches her go. He goes to follow the others, but what startles him is that Katsuki remains walking by his side.

“Umm, Your Majesty, you don’t have to walk beside me.”

“Hah?” Katsuki looks down at him,
those red eyes showing irritation and something else. “The King and their spouse have to walk into war rooms and meeting chambers as a united front. It’s been a tradition for centuries in this kingdom.”

Izuku nods, but what puzzles him is that he never read such a thing.
He’s read all the books he could find on the history of the Bakugou Kingdom and have not found anything written about this tradition in the books.

But it could be possible it’s an oral tradition passed down as verbal stories instead of being written down.
That’s what Izuku chalks it up to being because why would Katsuki lie about a tradition?

Katsuki suddenly offers his arm to him and Izuku, albeit questioning, takes it.

All the while not noticing the look a certain raven head is giving them.

The meeting room is abuzz with idle chitchat, but silences when Izuku and Katsuki come into room. He can feel the eyes all on them, but mostly on him.

He internally sighs as he and Katsuki go to take their seats at the head of the table. Once everyone is settled in, everyone
starts to ask questions.

“Your majesty, why was a meeting called when the next one isn’t even scheduled yet?”

“That’s right. You brought us to your study from our bedchambers and the few members from their homes nearly at sunset.”
“Is something the-“

Katsuki holds up his hand, silencing everyone. They wait with baited breaths as he starts speaking.

“I’ve called for this meeting because I’ve recently discovered some /embezzlements/ from not only the commoner fund, but others as well.”
Everyone becomes startling quiet, Izuku gazing at them before side glancing Katsuki.

‘Straightforward and to the point… Admirable, but can cause more trouble than what it’s worth. He really needs to learn how to be more subtle…’
Izuku faces forward again. ‘But he’s still young and has room to grow. He honestly reminds me of the interns that would start at the hospital in a way.’

He sees some of the council members have nervous expressions on their faces.
Well, some of them.

Monoma just looks smug about something while Shinsou looks impassive. Then there’s Mitsuki…

She tries to hide it, but Izuku can see the way she crosses her arms over herself, not looking anyone in the eye. Mitsuki, to the trained eye, is acting suspicious.
“What do you mean by that, Katsuki?” asks Mitsuki, acting with poise. “Are you insinuating that one of us have been embezzling highly guarded funds?”

“Not insinuating,” replies Katsuki, his knuckles turning white. “I /know/ that someone or /someones/ have been stealing money.”
He snaps his fingers and Jirou comes into the room with piles of documents in her hand. She grunts as she places the stack on the table.

Izuku sees some of the lower lords and barons eyeballing the stack. Even the Duke and Duchess glance at the stack.

Katsuki begins pulling
out documents as he says, “This is from the Duchy of the Miura Family.”

Duke and Duchess Miura pale a bit as Katsuki continues. “They control one of the three major ports for the Bakugou Kingdom… But it seems some things have been let out of their ledgers.”
Duchess Miura sputters out, "W-We left nothing out of those ledgers! Our son and his new wife make sure everything is accounted for and report anything-"

"Did I give you permission to speak?" Katsuki asks, eyes narrowing. "Because I don't remember giving it to you."
Duchess Miura clamps her mouth shut, Izuku seeing her husband glare daggers at her as looks down at her hands. She thankfully doesn't say another word. Katsuki then smirks.

"Funny of you to mention your son and his involvement in looking over the ledgers. He and his wife are
being placed under house arrest at this very moment for his involvement of smuggling illegal goods into this kingdom."

The Duchess and Duke's mouths hang open and Izuku fights the urge to laugh. So someone does it for him.

"Hahaha!" Monoma laughs. "Serves that bastard right."
The now angered and embarassed Duchess stands up harshly from her chair, it falling to the ground behind her. She points an accusatory finger at Monoma.

"Cut out your filthy tongue, Viscount! I know you are behind this, you vicious snake!" She looks at Katsuki. "My darling son
would never delve into such henious crimes, Your Majesty! Someone is setting my family up!"

"Do you have evidence of your innocence?" Izuku finds himself saying, this badger of a woman getting on his nerves. The Duchess and everyone stares at him like he is speaking for the
first time.

Her nostrils flare as she says, "I believe I was speaking to His Kingship... Not to you, /Prince Consort./"

"Duchess Miura," says Katsuki, glaring at the older woman, "watch your tongue. He may be a Consort, but he still outranks you."
Her face says that she obviously doesn't agree with the king, but smartly keeps her mouth shut. Katsuki then glances at Izuku. "You may proceed in your questions, Prince Consort."

"Thank you, Your Highness," says Izuku, looking Duchess Miura in the eye. "As I asked, do you have
any evidence to prove not only your son's, but your entire family's, innocence? Any copies of the original ledgers to compare to the ones we have on file and brought before all these witnesses?"

The duchess appears flabbergasted as other whisper. Then Duke Miura speaks up.
"There was a fire in our home last year... Boxes of copies were damaged..."

Izuku hums as the Duchess stares in horror. "How oddly conveniant that the copies were damaged in a fire and thus can't be compared to the ones we own now."

"T-That doesn't mean we are guilty!"
The Duchess has a wild look in her eyes as guards are silently brought into the room. Izuku folds his hands and places his chin on top of them.

"In actuality, your actions and mannerisms speak volumes. If you do not calm yourself down, we will escort you and your husband back to
your chambers here in the castle and detain you."

"Only the King can give out punishments like that, Prince Midoriya," replies Mitsuki. "You are speaking to a woman who had just be unjustily accused and finding out her son and daughter-in-law have been placed under house arrest.
The least you can do is be sympathetic to her quandary."

Izuku stares at her, the gears in his mind churning. 'You are obviously covering for them, Mitsuki. The Duke and Duchess along with their son are likely the ones supplying Chisaki with the illegal drugs, opium included.'
[Accidentally posted this to the wrong part of the thread. Imma gonna pause right here for now because I'm heading for bed now. The update shall recommence after I wake up later today. So for now good night!]
[Sorry for the long wait, I was trying to decide how to make this story go forward from here and hit a little writer’s block. Thankfully got over that quickly. So enjoy the rest of the update]
“I do sympathize with her dilemma, Queen Dowager,” replies Izuku, eyes never leaving hers. “However, behaving erratically and accusing others is not the way to go.”

He turns his attention to Katsuki. “But let us hear what His Highness has to say on the matter.”
“He is… right, Queen Dowager,” says Katsuki, obviously having struggled in saying Izuku is right. “Duchess Miura, if you do not calm yourself and sit your ass back down, we will do what the Prince Consort suggested. Am I clear?”

The Duchess’s face is beet red, but she, albeit
reluctantly, sits down in her chair after a knight sets it back up for her.

With the tension still high in the air, Katsuki turns attention to Viscount Monoma. “You seemed to have had suspicions on the Duchess’s son and daughter-in-law, yet said nothing. Care to explain?”
“Just as you said, Your Highness,” says Monoma, an air of smugness to him, “it was suspicions, but I lacked any physical evidence of the smuggling taking place. I only had the word of mouth though, but it was simply fact-less notings.”
Katsuki narrows his eyes as Izuku speaks up.

“What he says is true,” says Izuku with his serious voice he used only as a doctor. “He couldn’t just come up with accusations against Miura Duchy based on only rumors and no evidence to support him.”
Monoma looks at him in surprise, like he didn’t expect Izuku to defend him. Izuku may not like him, but he’s a valuable asset to the Kingdom.

Especially for what’s to come.

Katsuki hums a bit before saying with aversion in his tone. “You and the Prince Consort make good points.
But Viscount Monoma, pray tell, what is it that you heard in these rumors about the Miura Duchy?”

The Viscount smiles. “Gladly. I came to the port run by the Miura Family to check on a merchant ship of mine that had to dock there after a big storm.”
He then stands up, gesturing to the Duchess and Duke. “I arrived and was talking to the captain when I heard the most peculiar tale from some drunken cabin boys on the dock closest to us. Could hear every word they said because they were so drunk and had no volume control.”
“Get to the point, Viscount,” Katsuki growls, agitation clearly seen on his face.

“Anyways, one mention the Miura name and I couldn’t help by be intrigued. So I listened in and one cabin stated that he worked on one of the Miura Family’s ships and discovered a secret room on
said ship.”

“What rubbish,” mutters the Duke, who now stands up to confront Monoma. “Not one of our ships has any secret rooms, Viscount. None at all!”

“Stand down, Duke Miura,” says Katsuki, “or you will be taken out of this room.”

The Duke glares at Monoma before sitting
down again.

His glare could rival that of Mitsuki, who hasn’t said a word. Izuku takes a glance and sees how paler than usual her skin is. She appears quite nervous as the Monoma’s story continues.

“As I was saying, a cabin boy mentioned a secret room that was left open one
night. He took a peek inside and saw crates of all sorts along with what appeared to be identical items that were in the regular rooms he checked on moments earlier. Before he could see more, he had to leave because someone was coming.” Monoma sits back down. “And that was the
end of his drunken tale.”

Everyone at the table mutters at this. Mitsuki finally speaks up.

“So you listened to a drunk fool’s story and grew suspicious about the Miura family based on that? Then you must be the real fool.”

“But that could explain a lot of things,” says Izuku.
“How so, Prince Consort?” asks, surprisingly, Shinsou. He bored purple eyes gaze at the Prince. “Is there something that we missed that you noticed?”

“Yes,” says Izuku, voice never wavering. “As many of you know, I have a very… extensive collection of rare items.”
Many nod, some looking at him in a condescending manner. Others just look at him in disgust.

He ignores them all as he continues, “I always researched the items I intend to buy and separate the actual product from any counterfeit any merchant tried to sell me.”
This gets people whispering, many going “Counterfeit…?”

Shinsou adjusts himself more in his seat, looking Izuku in the eye. “Are you suggesting the man in Monoma’s story may have found a room full of counterfeit items?”

Izuku nods.
“That is what I’m suggesting. Monoma claims the cabin boy saw replicas of cargo he saw in regular rooms moments earlier.” He looks everyone in the eye. “Or, it’s very possible that ones in this “secret” room are the real items while the ones delivered were the counterfeits.”
“A-Are we seriously going to listen to anything this child says?!” suddenly shouts out a Baron, Baron Ishioka if Izuku’s memory serves right. “This is getting ridiculous!”

“He makes a fine point, Baron Ishioka,” Kirishima states from his position. “Also… aren’t you and the
Miura Family relatives of yours from your mother’s side?”

The Baron barks out, “What the Hell does that got to do with anything?!”

“A lot, apparently,” says Katsuki, holding up more documents. “There’s ships under the Miura Family that you co-own with them. And, if I’m not
mistaken, the Miura Family never co-owns any ships with anyone unless it’s with relatives of theirs. To keep it all “in the family” as their motto goes.”

Duchess Miura abruptly calls out, “This meeting is getting ridiculous as Baron Ishioka stated! We did nothing-“
“Your majesties.” A highly decorated knight comes into the meeting room. Izuku instantly recognizes him.

Tsukauchi Naomasa.

He feels himself tense up slightly at the sight of the man. A memory comes flooding back to him.

/“Midoriya Izuku, you have been found guilty of the
crime of attempted murder in the first degree,” stated Tsukauchi who looked at a chained up Izuku in shame. “For your heinous crime, you shall be sentenced to death.”/

/“I-I swear I didn’t do it! I didn’t do it! P-Please Kacchan! I didn’t do it!”/

/But his pleads were ignored./
/And he was dragged away, the sight of Katsuki and Tsukauchi’s closed off eyes burning into his memory forever…/

“So you found something, Tsukauchi?” Katsuki’s voice snaps Izuku out of his memories as the knight nods his head.

“We investigated both the Miura Duchy and the
House of Baron Ishioka. From information told to us by Baroness Ishioka, we found items and documents that confirm their crimes.”

“I see.” He turns towards the Duke, Duchess, and Baron. The Baron looks in shock at his wife.

“Kaede… You betrayed me?”
The Baroness, Ishioka Kaede, looks at her husband in disgust. “How could I betray you when I found out myself just last night? You do have a loose tongue when wine and women are involved.”

The Baron sputters as the knights grab him from underneath his armpits.
Katsuki addresses his knights.

“Take the Baron Ishioka, Duchess Miura, and Duke Miura to the dungeons. They will be stripped of their titles, money, and investments immediately.”

“N-No your Majesty!!”

“W-We did n-nothing wrong!!”

“Please, Your Majesty!”
The threes’ cries are spurned by the other members as they are escorted out. One knight hits the Baron upside the head after he makes a highly obscene remark towards his wife.

The wife doesn’t even react as all three of them are now gone. Baroness Ishioka then stands.
With poise, she curtsey’s to Katsuki and Izuku.

“My husband has brought great shame to the Ishioka family name. I found out his smuggling business just last night when he was drunkenly fraternizing with one of his flings when he thought I wasn’t around.”
She looks down in shame. “So I informed General Tsukauchi about where to find the documents of his counterfeiting sales. I am deeply sorry for all he and his relatives caused to the Bakugou Kingdom.”

Katsuki looks at her as Izuku feels the true sincerity in her words. He speaks
before the King has a chance too.

“I can sense the sincerity in your words, Baroness,” he says with a small smile. “Your husband and his family’s actions don’t reflect who you are. You took action that saved the Bakugou Kingdom’s reputation. So I thank you for it.”
The Baroness looks at him like she now sees him in a completely new light. A small smile of her own graces her lips. “Thank you, Prince Consort.”

“Baroness Ishioka,” says Katsuki, “for your contribution to the case, you shall keep your title as Baroness, but you will be placed
under suspension and surveillance until you can be trusted to inherit your husband’s business. Are we clear?”

“Y-Yes your majesty. I’m highly honored.” She sits back down. Katsuki stands, looking at the rest of the room.

“We shall be continuing on with meeting.” He smirks,
holding up more documents. “There’s a lot more corruption that needs to be weeded out.”

Everyone settles back down, Katsuki standing up before listing more embezzlement crimes.

And those involved.

“Sir Hamasaki, who I thought I could trust as my morning secretary… Was paid off by Lady Koizumi to help embezzle funds.”

Lady Koizumi, who is not part of the council,
is the daughter of Lord Koizumi, who helps run a textile mill a little ways south of the kingdom.

And she’s one of the newest ladies-in-waiting for none other than the Queen Dowager.

Lord Koizumi abruptly shouts, “My daughter would never do such a thing!”
Izuku remembers the bubbly girl and she has the innocent aura of a saint. He, when he lived his first life, never felt a deceitful bone in her body. And, nothing against her, she could be a bit… oblivious.

“Sir Hamasaki claims that your daughter came up to him with envelopes of
money or some jewels to make a few things go unnoticed on documents or not to say anything.” Katsuki looks at Lord Koizumi as Mitsuki speaks up.

“I thought I noticed some of my small jewels missing… But I would never suspect her out of my ladies and servants to steal from me.”
Mitsuki looks sadly, or at least acting like it, at Lord Koizumi. “Quite a shame… Her mother was her predecessor and she would be rolling in her grave at learning her daughter is a thief.”

“Y-You’ve known my daughter Etsuko since she was a toddler!” The Lord states. “You know
she would never do-“

“Lord Koizumi,” says Katsuki, the older man silencing himself. “We are bringing your daughter to the interrogation room for questioning.”

“I say bring her here.” All eyes are on Izuku as he continues. “Interrogate her right here before /all/ of us.”
Lord Koizomi looks at Izuku with much gratefulness in his eyes. He can feel Mitsuki’s glare at him.

“Prince Consort, the girl is an obvious thief!” she says loudly. “She may try to pickpocket-“

“Queen Dowager,” says, surprisingly, Monoma. “We have the best knights in the room
and not to mention Kirishima Eijirou, a high ranking knight, is here as well. So I agree with the Prince Consort’s decision. What do you think, Your Highness?”

Katsuki scowls for a bit, but sighs. “I agree. Bring Lady Koizumi here to the council room.”
“Also,” says Izuku, glancing at Mitsuki. “I say that the Queen Dowager may not be present during the interrogation.“

“WHAT?!!” Mitsuki screeches, glaring hard at him. “I’m the Queen Dowager and I am part of this council!”

“Prince Consort, explain your reasoning for wanting to
cast my mother out of the room when Lady Koizomi comes?” asks Katsuki, his eyes full of distant curiosity.

Izuku straightens himself a bit. “She was a former lady-in-waiting to the Queen Dowager and seeing her former mistress may cause some discrepancies in the interrogation.”
Mitsuki stands from her chair, shouting, “I will stay here-!”

Katsuki holds up his hand, silencing her. He turns and glares at her. “Queen Dowager, you shall be escorted out of the room during the interrogation.”
“Katsuki, you can’t be serious!!”

“Escort the Queen Dowager out of the room.”

“You will not!” Mitsuki shrieks as two knights tentatively come forward. Izuku decides to stir the situation up even more because he rarely saw Mitsuki loose her cool like this.
“You will only be stepping out of the room, Queen Dowager,” states Izuku, a smile on his lips. “It’s for Lady Koizomi’s state of mind and to not be intimidated during her interrogation with her mistress here. She doesn’t do good under stress after all.”

He smiles wider. “Unless
there’s something you don’t want her to say in our presence, Queen Dowager.”

This makes everyone’s attention fall onto the Queen Dowager, the old queen falling silent, her jaw clenching as she stares at Izuku.

“No Prince Consort, nothing of the sort.”
“Then you can either kindly leave on your own.” Izuku glances at the knights. “Or you will be escorted out by the knights in the room. Take your pick, Queen Dowager.”

Mitsuki has a furious look in her eyes, cheeks reddening. But, with a pivot, she storms out of the chambers on
her own. Izuku inwardly sighs.

He can feel the tension in the room leaving, but still feels eyes on him. Looking around, he finds three pairs of eyes on him.

Katsuki.

Kirishima.

And… Viscount Monoma, who gives him a sly smirk.
Izuku almost wants to scowl at the man, but decides against it. With Mitsuki gone, a knight announces the arrival of Lady Koizomi.

A petite, brunette girl, barely 19, comes in nervously into the council chambers. She doesn’t look people in the eye for fairly long before looking
back down at her feet.

She comes to a stop in front of the table and does a curtsy. “G-Greetings your majesties, the s-sun and waxing moon of our kingdom.”

Everyone falls silent when she says “waxing moon”, eyes looking at Izuku.

Prince Izuku hates that title for himself.
The Prince Izuku in the past, when he first learned of his new title before coming to the kingdom, threw an absolute fit. There were even rumors he broke some furniture in his fit.

But the Izuku before them just looks at Lady Koizomi calmly.
‘I can practically hear what they are all thinking. How I’m not reacting to my title like they heard I did. Hearing my Waxing Moon title just feels nostalgic…’

“Greetings, Lady Koizomi,” he says with a smile. He thinks he hears someone gasp. “Do you know why you are here?”
“I-I do not, Prince C-Consort,” she replies nervously, as if waiting for him to snap at her for the use of that title.

Actually, everyone is still waiting.

But Izuku won’t because… well, he’s a Prince Consort and nothing more.
The Moon title is only reserved for those who are a monarch in their own right in this kingdom. Izuku is from another kingdom and is only a prince.

His older cousin is heir to the throne now since he left, so he only has the title Prince Consort to his name now.
“It’s fine that you don’t know,” he says, Katsuki mumbling under his breath beside him. “We told her before she even got here…”

Irritation floods his veins as he sends a small kick to Katsuki’s shin. Katsuki curses, making people look at the king in confusion.
Izuku just calmly smiles as he continues on. “We wanted to ask you a couple of questions in regards to you once visiting the morning secretary, Sir Hamasaki. He said you gave him an envelope with something in it.”

Her eyes seem to light up in remembrance.
“Yes I did, Prince Consort.”

Izuku hums as Katsuki speaks up.

“Do you know what was inside the envelope or not?” he grunts out, him glaring at Izuku from the corner of his eye. Probably still mad about the kick to the shin.

Izuku just rolls his eyes slightly.
Lady Koizomi fiddles with her dress, him observing her mannerisms. “I don’t know what was inside the envelope sir. It was given to me to deliver it to Sir Hamasaki.”

Izuku nods when someone else speaks up. “Who gave you the envelope to deliver to him?” asks Shinsou, a yawn
escaping his mouth.

Izuku waits for her response as she answers right away. “A fellow lady-in-waiting, Lady Nakano, sir. She said it was an important delivery from the Queen Dowager that had to be delivered at once to Sir Hamasaki.”
He almost wants to laugh in joy outloud. Izuku wants to hug Lady Koizomi for her naive brain and her filterless mouth. Katsuki is just vibrating in restrained anger beside him.

"Is that so?" Katsuki grits out, his knuckles turning white as he grips his arm rests. "Did the
envelope make any strange noise?"

Lady Koizomi places her thumb to her chin, appearing to be in deep thought. Then she brightens up. "I think I remember it making a noise, like clinking of glass or something similar to coins?"

People begin to murmur about, clearing connecting
the dots.

Mitsuki's missing jewels.

An envelope making a distinct clinking noise...

"Guards," Katsuki says, Izuku seeing the scowl on his face. "Instigate a search in both Sir Hamasaki's chambers and home at once!"

"Yes sir!"

The guards leave, more coming in to replace them.
Lady Koizomi looks nervously at Izuku. “D-Did I say something wrong?”

“No,” states Izuku. “In fact, you brought to light some… interesting things. Thank you for your cooperation. You may leave now.”

Lady Koizomi does a curtsy and is gently escorted out of the room.
After she leaves, Mitsuki barges into the room through the other door leading in. Two knights are beside her, trying to contain her.

“Katsuki! Tell these men at-“

“Silence!!” Mitsuki shuts up, seeing the look on her son’s face. Everyone is waiting with baited breath for what is
to come next.

Even Izuku is wondering what the King is thinking now that it’s been brought to light that not only was his mother a liar, but a briber as well. Katsuki calmly reaches for some papers Izuku recognizes as being from the Commoner’s Fund.

This won’t bode well.
“Someone has… enlightened me that someone was embezzling from the Commoner’s Fund that I painstakingly created,” he says, his voice calm, but his tone like a storm you see over the horizon.

Even Izuku feels the power of his words and almost shivers. Mitsuki will not leave this
room unscathed, that’s for sure.

Mitsuki stutters out, “W-What? A-Are you accusing /me/ of such a thing? I have my own funds, you brat!”

“Of course you do.” Katsuki waves the paper around. “But it doesn’t mean you didn’t want more for /your/ spending habits.”
Mitsuki stares wide eyed as Sir Hamasaki is escorted into the room as well. The older man is then brought to his knees as Katsuki stares at them.

“You both thought you could get away with this!” Katsuki holds up not only the Commoner’s Fund papers, but Mitsuki’s own financial
papers too.

Hamasaki looks up pleadingly at Katsuki. “I-I didn’t deceive you, your-“ Katsuki holds up his hand, anger on his face.

“I trusted the both of you and you /both/ stole from me.” He glares hard at them. “These heinous crimes will not go unpunished.”
“Son, we didn’t steal anything!”

“I beg to differ,” states a new voice. Everyone turns to see a voluptuous woman with long black hair and red framed glasses glaring at Mitsuki. Behind her is an equally beautiful woman with wavy blonde hair.
Izuku instantly knows who he’s looking at. The first official female knight and Major of the first royal battalion, Kayama Nemuri She is also the Royal perfumer that can make a perfume that can render a grown man unconscious.

Behind her is the first female First Lieutenant.
Takeyama Yu is Izuku remembers correctly. He definitely needs to write this stuff down; at least, not in one of this world’s languages.

“Nemuri,” says Mitsuki, looking at the Major with pleading eyes. “You’re one of my best friends! Surely you don’t-“

“I know of your crimes,
Queen Dowager,” states Nemuri, schooling a scowl. “And it appears that embezzlement isn’t your only crime. Takeyama, if you would please.”

“Yeah, yeah, old lady,” remarks the younger woman, Nemuri growling at her for that comment. The blonde then pulls out some cloth pouches.
Mitsuki’s eyes widen, looking ready to pounce. “W-Where did you get that?!!”

Takeyama smirks. “Tsukauchi wanted us in on the recent investigations and decided to search your chambers while no one was there to stop us. And look what we found hidden in your large closet.”
She tosses the pouches onto the table and a white powder, one that Izuku knows from all the times drug addicts would sneak drugs into his hospital, comes spilling out.

Heroin, a type of opioid made from morphine or a drug that comes from a flower, the opium poppy.
Mitsuki pales several shades of white as Katsuki briskly walks over and looks down at the contents. Everyone can see him vibrating in anger.

“You never stopped…,” he says, anger lining his tone. “You promised me as a young teen that you officially stopped after you were sent to
the rehab facility and the doctor Chiyo taking away your access to morphine… And my father placing the ban on illegal drugs including opium…”

He turns and his eyes are full of betrayal as he stares down at his mother. Everyone watches as he says, “You broke one of the biggest
laws my father placed AND stealing from the Commoner’s Fund that I created… As punishment, you shall be stripped of all your money and assets and… You will be banished to the old Northern Palace with only what you can carry on your person.”

Mitsuki pales even /more/.
“Y-You can’t be seriously thinking of sending me //there// of all places!!” Tears stream down her cheeks, but Izuku knows they are nothing more than crocodile tears because she got caught. “That place hasn’t been fixed up in YEARS and who knows what state it’s in now!!”
The shakes off the knights and dashes to pathetically clutch onto her own son’s pant leg. Katsuki only looks down at her with an expression of distaste.

“Y-You wouldn’t d-do this to your o-own mother, would you? I’m the one who ga-gave you life! Who allowed you to experience
life of a royal! I faced 9 hellish months to give birth to you!” She clutches his pant leg harder. “You have no idea how painful the labor was on me both physically and mentally! I-I needed the opium because the pain still hurts to this day!”

Izuku looks at Mitsuki in disgust.
‘Using her own trauma and addiction against her own child? That’s a new low, even for her…’ And it appears that others feel the same, many looking at Katsuki in pity.

Izuku stands as Katsuki harshly shakes Mitsuki off his leg. “That’s quite enough, Queen Dowager,” says Izuku,
Mitsuki turning to glare at him.

There seems to be a crazed look in her eyes and Izuku recognizes it as a form of opium withdrawal. Her agitation has been spiked.

“Shut up, you worthless Prince!” She snaps, her eyes crazed. “Y-You set me up, didn’t you?”
She stands up, stalking towards him with that maniac look in her eyes. Then she tries to pounce on him.

But before her or anyone else can react, Izuku whips out a small blade and points it directly at Mitsuki’s jugular vein. She barely stops herself in time to not be impaled.
Her eyes are wide as saucer plates, the tip of Izuku’s blade pressing into her skin. A bit of blood trickles down her neck, making her immediately back away.

The knights are on her in an instant, placing handcuffs onto her wrists. Izuku just calmly pulls out a handkerchief to
wipe the small amount of blood on it.

She begins screeching. “Y-You bastard!! You caused Royal blood to be spilled!” She thrashes in the knights’ hold. “That’s on grounds for execution!”

Izuku just looks at her, not a single worry on his face.
“I think you forget, Queen Dowager.” He gets close, getting close to her face. “I am of Royal blood as well. Not the same as yours, but it still flows in my veins. And you tried to attack me first, so I spilt blood in self defense.”

Mitsuki tries to snap her jaws at him, but
another blade of a larger variety points at her face. The angry red eyes of Kirishima glare down at her as he stands in front of Izuku.

“Queen Dowager, your crimes are despicable and trying to blame someone else for them?” He shakes his head. “That in itself is deplorable.”
Katsuki makes his way in front of Izuku too, seething at his mother.

“Queen Dowager, attacking another Royal has been added to your list of crimes,” he grits out, fists clenching. “So not only will you be banished to the old Northern Palace, you will be /confined/ there. You
will not be permitted to step foot, not even once, outside the gates of the palace. And you will be under strict supervision and control once you have arrived.”

“K-Katsuki! You can’t be serious! I’m your /mother/!!”

Katsuki just sneers. “You are no longer any mother of mine.”
“Y-You don’t mean that, Katsuki!” She has more crocodile tears stream down her cheeks. “Y-You wouldn’t confine me to that Hellish place! And why are you defending that bratty thing?!”

She glares at Izuku and if looks could kill, he would be six feet under.
“He ruined your engagement to the Todoroki Kingdom! One of the largest kingdoms on this continent! We could have been allies with them if he and his wretched father never interfered!”

People mutter about, some somewhat /agreeing/ with her.
Izuku pushes past Kirishima and Katsuki, staring down at her as she was placed on her knees after her attempted attack.

“Yes, I may have ruined your kingdom’s chances in allying yourselves with a bigger and wealthier kingdom,” he says, fists clenching. “But to my kingdom, you
were the bigger and better kingdom. All other kingdoms ignored us because we have nothing of value or abandoned us after the bankruptcy became public.” He looks at all the council members. “You all may believe that I was the sole reason for my kingdoms bankruptcy. But that is a
lie.”

Some people stare in shock as Izuku continues, “Several years ago, my kingdom was known as the epicenter of all sources of jades and emeralds. Hence why our last name and Kingdom contains the meaninf “Green” in it. But that all changed.”
Someone bought out all the deeds to my kingdoms emerald and jade mines… And bled them completely dry before my father or mother could do anything. Do you all want to know who the culprit is?”

He looks back down at Mitsuki. “The Todoroki Empire bankrupted mine because of a
jealous man who couldn’t stand that my mother, the Princess at the time, chose a “lowly” Viscount to be her husband and King.” He leans into Mitsuki’s face. “The Todoroki Kingdom is to not be trifled with. When they see an opportunity, King Enji will drain your resources dry.”
He backs away from her, feeling everyone’s eyes, including Katsuki, watch him. “The Todoroki Kingdom is wealthier than this kingdom… But only after stealing resources from other kingdoms that they held a grudge against. So, in a way, I helped this kingdom dodge a bullet despite
the circumstances.”

He can feel Katsuki intense stare as Mitsuki is picked up off the ground. She growls at him. “Lying won’t get you anywhere, you snake!”

Izuku smirks. “The only liar and swindler here is you. Enjoy the old Northern Palace, former Queen Dowager.”
Mitsuki screams and thrashes like a spoilt child as she’s escorted out of the room. Izuku feels a migraine coming about.

“This meeting was /lovely/ and all,” he says, looking at who is left. “So I say it’s time to take a recess, shall we?”
Everyone glances at the King, who is shock still. But eventually he snaps out of it.

“Alright, let’s take a fucking recess for 20 minutes.” He suddenly takes Izuku’s wrists and practically begins dragging him out of the room.

-

Katsuki feels like he’s stumbling down a mountain and only getting worse the further he goes down. He doesn’t even remember grabbing the Prince’s wrist and dragging him out of the room.

Izuku’s voice snaps him out of it. “I can walk on my own, you know?”
Katsuki stops and realizes they made it to a veranda facing one of the castle gardens. This veranda has its own fountain and the soothing sound of rushing water reaches his ears.

He lets go of Izuku’s wrist, the latter gently rubbing it. Shit, he must have have held it too
tight.

But Izuku doesn’t voice any concern. He just goes to sit on the edge of the fountain, sighing in relief. “That meeting… was intense.”

Katsuki sighs and only begins pacing. His mother… never stopped taking opium like she said she did. She never displayed any symptoms of
withdrawal or any maids stating if they found anything suspicious in her room.

‘They were most likely on her payroll to keep quiet.’ His mind supplies him and this just makes his head pound even further.

People he thought he could trust backstabbing not only him, but the entire
kingdom as well… This corruption runs deep and there’s no telling how far these roots go.

It’s very likely this corruption was hiding in plain sight during his father’s reign. And, with his mother helping to cover up fraud, there’s no telling what ELSE she did.
A hand reaches for his hair and begins pulling, feeling so stupid to have believed a single word his viper of a mother said. With the evidence he and his top knights found, it’s clear as day that she is a criminal hidden in the shadows…

Suddenly, there’s a hand on his shoulder.
“Your highness,” Izuku voice calls out to him, albeit a bit distant. “You appear to be under severe distress and the bags under your eyes tell me you never got much sleep. You need to calm down and rest.”

It’s true. He was working on paperwork and took small naps.
He’s surprised he’s still conscious at this point. Katsuki then feels Izuku’s hand take his, leading him towards the fountain.

Izuku’s hands are rough with calluses. So very unlike how they were when Katsuki was forced to hold them during the wedding.
Izuku leads them to a bench and sets Katsuki down on it. "I know it's not comfortable, but this will have to do." Izuku then takes off his coat and hands it to him. "You can use this as a pillow."

Katsuki blinks through blearily vision, fighting his eyelids to keep himself
awake. But he is awake enough to notice that Izuku picked out an undershirt that is more sheer than the Prince probably intended.

Through the sheer material, Katsuki can definitely make out the impression of forming muscles and six pack. He can't seem to tear his eyes away.
"Is something the matter, Your Highness?" asks Izuku, looking at Katsuki with such an /innocent/ look in his eyes that it hurts to look at him.

Then Katsuki realizes what exactly he is doing and harshly takes the coat, cheeks red. "Nothing the matter! Thanks and whatever!"
He makes the coat into a makeshift pillow and turns his body away from Izuku. But he swears he can hear the little shit /giggle/.

His ears are burning and adrenaline now making him wide awake. But he doesn’t let Izuku know because he is now in constant denial.
He was NOT just checking out his husband.

No. Fucking. Way.

Katsuki’s ears burn even brighter now.

/Katsuki was sitting under the tree, the breeze caressing against his skin when someone joins him under the tree./

/“Katsuki!” a young man’s voice chimes in his ear. One that made Katsuki’s heart flutter. “I got something for you!”/

/Katsuki smirked. “And what is this something
you got for me?”/

/The other man grinned before pulling out a a golden medallion in the shape of the Bakugou Kingdom’s Sun emblem./

/But in the middle of it was, instead of a standard ruby, was the biggest jade Katsuki had ever seen./
/“Holy shit,” Katsuki said breathlessly. “I’ve never seen a jade this big.”/

/“Yeah, my old man has stores of jades and emeralds for the gem trade.”/

/“I thought your family could only find iron ore in the mountain mines of your kingdom?”/
/“Oh, my old man said he bought some deeds to old gold mines that dried out,” the other said, wrapping his arm around Katsuki. “He thought he might find something else in the minds. When my old man’s team started digging, they found bunches of jade and emerald.”/
/Katsuki was handed the medallion and stared in wonder at the jade. It was such a lovely green…/

/“My old man had a little tiff with the original owner of the mines, but the rights to them were ours. So he took care of it.”/

/For some reason, Katsuki had a feeling of dread./
/King Enji wasn’t known as being a kind man…/

/“How did your old man handle it?”/

/The man beside him shrugged. “Beats me. He keeps tight lipped about it. But he said the former owner never bothered him again.”/
/This didn’t sit right with Katsuki… What did King Enji do?/

/He felt a kiss being placed on his head when something whispers to him from the back of his mind. A very familiar voice./

//“Someone bought out all the deeds to my kingdoms emerald and jade mines… And bled them
completely dry before my father or mother could do anything.”//

/Katsuki glanced down at the jade and saw hairline cracks in it that weren’t there before…/

/It’s considered a bad omen for a lover’s gem to start cracking out of nowhere…/
/Everything feels distorted and he can barely make out his fiancé calling out to him, the last thing him seeing is his cerulean eyes…/

“Your highness…?” a voice softly whispers to him, Katsuki startling awake to see almost jade green eyes staring down at him in concern.
Katsuki hurriedly sits up, reaching into his pocket to pull out a familiar medallion. The jade in the center is completely intact, no cracks whatsoever.

So the ones he saw in his nightmare were just that. A nightmare.

He groans a bit when he feels a hand on his forehead.
“Your highness, you’re running a fever,” says Izuku, looking more concerned. “All the stress from today has caused you to have a stress fever. I believe it’s best to postpone the rest of the meeting until you are better.”

Katsuki stares, his eyes sore as Izuku makes he get up.
“Come, Your Highness.” Izuku nudges him towards the entrance into the castle. “Let’s stop by the infirmary and-“

“No infirmary…,” Katsuki mumbles, fatigue weighing down heavily on his shoulders. He can feel the Prince’s gaze on him.
“You will have to go to the infirmary, Your Highness,” states Izuku, a no nonsense tone to his voice. “It’s closer to this side of the castle.”

Katsuki struggles to get out of Izuku’s grip. He knows he’s acting like a child, but he doesn’t need the infirmary or any doctor.
Then he feels a harsh pull on his ear.

“Ouch!” Katsuki yells, Izuku pulling on his ear even harder. “What the Hell?! Let go!”

“You are acting like a child, Your Highness,” says Izuku, a scowl on his face. “So I will treat you like one.”
Izuku then rolls his eyes. “A grown man scared of going to the infirmary. Some mighty king you are.”

Katsuki is irked by this and swats Izuku’s arms from him, marching ahead of him towards the infirmary. “I ain’t scared, you dipshit!”

He’s so irritated he doesn’t notice the
playful smirk on Izuku’s face.

They get to the infirmary area after a couple of minutes after Katsuki almost passed out again and Izuku having to help him. Inside the room, there’s only one man.

Tengai Hekiji.

He’s a blond haired, usually quite man that follows Kai around.
But it appears that Kai isn’t around. Izuku steps into the room, leaving Katsuki outside in the hall.

Tengai looks up at Izuku and, if he was surprised he was there, then he doesn’t show it on his face. “Yes… Prince Consort?” the older man says carefully.
Izuku just gives him a calm smile. “I’m so sorry to disturb you, I just came here to get some fever reducer for His Highness.”

Tengai looks behind Izuku and right at Katsuki. His eyes do widen at seeing him.

Figures since Katsuki has never really come here.
“I shall fetch it for you then, Prince Consort.” Tengai goes to stand, but Izuku holds up his hand.

“No need. I can find the fever reducer myself.” Izuku goes to walk pass the man. “It’s in the far right cabinet if memory serves me right.”

Tengai seems a bit flabbergasted.
“P-Prince Consort,” he says, reaching out to grab Izuku. “My boss has a very meticulous way of having his supplies and I just can’t allow you in here.”

He firmly grabbed Izuku, about to yank him back as the Prince turns to glare hard at him.

“Unhand me. NOW.”
The way Izuku says this makes the temperature in the room drop a bit. Even Katsuki out in the hall feels a chill run down his spine.

He’s never see Izuku get THIS angry before. He’s like calm before a storm…

Tengai slowly (and smartly) unhands Izuku.
Izuku still glares, but turns to go towards the cabinet that contains the fever reducer. Katsuki watches Tengai tense up a bit through his bleary vision.

Strange…

He’s usually stoic and calm, but today seems to be on edge.

Something is definitely up.
He will have to look into the medical staff after the embezzlement meeting wraps up.

Izuku takes out a bottle of fever reducer pills, closing the cabinet back up as he does so.

“I’m taking these, Tengai,” he states, giving the man a look of disdain.
“And you are dismissed, Tengai.”

Tengai blinks in shock. “W-What? Y-You can’t do-“

“I’m ranks higher than you,” states Izuku, that scowl never leaving his face. “And you just tried to touch a Royal without their consent and harshly I might add.”
Tengai is flabbergasted once again and Katsuki can’t help but let out a snort. He turns to look at him.

“Y-Your majesty!” he says in a pleading tone. “The Prince Consort can not dismiss any medical staff. That authority only relies on you and Dr. Chisaki.”

Katsuki stares for a
moment, then he crosses his arms. Though he has to lean against the wall behind him to keep himself upright.

“I saw you harshly grab the Prince Consort’s arm… That’s on grounds of dismissal for harming a royal. You’re lucky we no longer do the death penalty for what you did.”
Tengai looks like he’s about to argue, but Izuku beats him to it. “His Majesty has spoken. Leave or we will send armed knights to escort you out.”

Tengai glares at Izuku, but slowly makes his way out of infirmary wing. Once he’s officially gone, Katsuki sees Izuku sigh in
frustration.

“What’s with people snatching or biting at me today…”

“Could have pulled that stunt you did against the Queen Dowager,” Katsuki finds himself saying, Izuku glancing up at him.

“I only use it in self defense,” he says. “While he did snatch my wrist, he didn’t
intend to go for my life or harm me horribly with blunt nails.”

“Still, could have stabbed him in the hand.” Izuku gives him a look.

“You are just a creature that craves violence, aren’t you.” He asks, but it doesn’t sound like a question. More like a statement.
Katsuki quirks a brow. “Says the one who carries a concealed knife and wields it like a professional.” Izuku glares a bit and Katsuki can, through feverish vision, see a small pout on that face.

“Touché you pompous man.”

“Hey!” Katsuki yells in indignation, but Izuku ignores
him before pouring a pill out into his hand.

“You’ll have to take a pill to help reduce your fever,” Izuku says. “And another one six hours from now in case it comes back. So-“

Katsuki doesn’t really pay attention to what else Izuku says. His head is down slightly, giving
Katsuki a view of things he clearly missed.

Like how Izuku has long eyelashes and a pale dusting of freckles on the bridge of his nose. He never noticed these things until now.

“Did you hear me, Your Majesty?” Izuku’s voice snaps him out of it, realizing what he was doing.
‘What… in the absolute… FUCK?!!’

“Yes I heard you!!” He says loudly, his ears turning red. Izuku just gives him an incredulous look.

“Okay, what is that I just said then?” Izuku asks, crossing his arms over his chest.

Katsuki swears silently, having been too… busy.
‘It’s the fucking stress fever.’ Katsuki reasons in his mind. ‘It’s making me delusional right now…’

Izuku just sighs in frustration. “I said you will need to take it easy for a couple of days. Stress is not good for one’s health and can lead to more problems in the future.”
“Yeah, yeah, but you ain’t a damn doc- Ow!!”

Izuku flicks him in the forehead before handing Katsuki something into his hand. The blond looks down and sees a pill.

“It’s best to take one right now to help reduce your fever, Your Highness,” Izuku states with a no nonsense tone.
“So I suggest taking it now.”

Katsuki raises a brow. “And where’s my water then-“

“The water in the infirmary tastes awful.” Izuku crosses his arms. “So I suggest using saliva, Your Majesty.”

Katsuki grumbles when a thought occurs to him. “How do I know you got fever reducer
pills? For all I know-“

“Oh for the love of!” Izuku sighs in exasperation, taking out his own pill and goes to put it into his mouth. Katsuki immediately takes his arm, almost tripping from the dizziness.

“What the Hell are you doing?!”
Izuku swallows the pill without water like a champ. Katsuki will have to commend him on that, but still! The prince scowls at him.

“To show your incredulous ass that I am /not/ going to poison you!” He stalks forward, now reminding Katsuki of a doctor he once saw on the
battlefield with a patient who wouldn’t heed what the doctor said. “So you are going to take this pill, swallow it, and go rest in your chambers when the medicine kicks in.”

He gets even closer, making Katsuki back up towards the wall. “Or I will /make/ you swallow it.”
The fury in Izuku’s eyes and the way he had basically cornered Katsuki into a corner wasn’t something the king expected.

There’s a mixture of feelings coursing through him. Anger, surprise, confusion, and etc.. But there’s one he instantly knows.

And he’s mortified by it.
The little hints of fucking /arousal/.

He can feel his dick twitching in his trousers, Katsuki instantly screaming internally at his body. ‘What the fuck?!!’

He hasn’t felt this way since the little… rough housing with his ex-fiancé.
Katsuki’s feels even more mortification when Izuku gets even /closer/ to him. Izuku has his arms crossed over his chest, the damn fucker having not put back on his jacket.

So the poor King has a front row seat to Izuku’s chest through the shirt.

And it seems his dick just loves
to end up betraying him.

It grows even tighter in his pants and Katsuki just wants to die right there.

And with Izuku even closer to him, there is a high chance the Prince will see his… tent in his pants.

A mantra repeats in his mind.

‘Don’t look down. Don’t look down!’
“So, your majesty,” says Izuku, looking up at him. “Are you going to take the pill on your own like a good boy or-“

Katsuki slaps his hand into Izuku’s face to shove him away a bit because he got a bit /too/ close.

“I’ll fucking do it! Now turn the fuck around!”
Izuku moves his hand a bit to reveal an eye. “Why? It’s just a-“

“Just d-do it, damnit!!”

Huffing, his breath against Katsuki’s skin causing goosebumps to rise on the King’s skin, Izuku turns himself around. Katsuki thinks he’s in the clear…

Until he accidentally looks down.
Gods.

Fucking.

DAMNIT!!!

With the Prince's back turned, it gives Katsuki a full view of his backside... Especially the bottom part. He can feel the pill in his hand being grinded into powder at how hard he is squeezing it.

A deep blush creeps up his neck and his throat closes
up a bit due to not wanting to let out any noise.

And, no matter what he does, he can't wrench his eyes away. Katsuki loathes to admit this, but...

Midoriya Izuku has a great body, both the front and especially the back.

'My Gods, I think my fever has made me crazy...'
Katsuki can feel the pill in his hand grinding against his skin, him surprised it hasn't turned in to powder yet. He quickly opens the palm of his hand and takes the pill, deeply hoping it will stop whatever madness is happening to him.

As if sensing that he took the pill, Izuku
turns back around.

"Now that you took the pill like a good King-"

"Oi!"

Izuku gives him a look that could even make the Devil cower. Katsuki smartly shuts up as the Prince continues.

"We shall head back to your chambers for you to rest until the medicine kicks in."
“We still have a fucking meeting, /Prince/,” Katsuki says, trying hard to only focus on Izuku’s face. “Last time I checked, I’m the King here, not /you/.”

Izuku just rolls his eyes at him. “And, are your /husband/, it’s my duty to make sure you don’t overdo anything or do
anything stupid.”

Katsuki feels his eye twitch. “That’s what Jirou is for. She is my royal advisor and afternoon secretary.”

“Then I pity her then,” remarks Izuku. “Having to deal with both paperwork and you at the same time. Must be a nightmare for her.”

“Why you little-!”
“Big brother!!”

Both men turn to see Eri running down the halls, a maid coming up from behind her. The maid calls out to her. “Princess!! It’s un-lady-like to run down the halls! Princess!!”

Katsuki watches as his sister practically collides into Izuku’s side, giving him a hug.
Izuku looks down and smiles at Eri. Katsuki watches the prince pet her head. “Did you run away from your etiquette classes?”

Eri shakes her head, earning a bit of a cough. “N-No, they e-ended a while back-“ Eri stops to have a coughing fit. Izuku immediately going down to her
level and gently rubbing her back and gives her a handkerchief too.

She coughs into it and, with the pill slowly working, Katsuki can see some red splotches in the fabric.

Her condition is worse than what the doctor says.
The maid comes to a stop, huffing and puffing, clearly out of breath. She turns apologetically to Katsuki. “I’m so sorry, Your Majesty! Eri’s medicine hasn’t been made yet for this week, so she’s still-“

“She’s been on this medication for weeks now,” Izuku says suddenly, looking
at the maid. The maid seems taken aback by this as Izuku turns his attention back to Katsuki. “Princess Eri’s medicine seems not to be working well anymore.”

Izuku then scoops up Eri into his arms, never breaking eye contact. “So I highly suggest, Your Majesty, that you look
into getting a new doctor because it seems Dr. Chisaki’s methods aren’t working like he claims.”

“N-Now hold on a minute!” says the maid, a look in her eyes. “Dr. Chisaki may be a bit… eccentric, but he’s still a good doctor. One of the best.”

Izuku just gives her a look.
“If he is truly as good as he claims,” he adjusts Eri in his arms, assessing her, “then Princess Eri still wouldn’t be sick nor her medication failing her.”

The maid has a red face, clearly from anger before turning to Katsuki. “Y-Your Majesty, he just-“

Feeling a headache
coming on, Katsuki holds up his hand, making her shut up.

“The Prince can say whatever he wants…” Especially when… he is right. “Princess Eri’s condition hasn’t approved and we will be discussing introducing a new doctor to exclusively look over her condition.”
“B-“ before the maid can even finish her sentence, Izuku suddenly hands her a piece of paper he pulled from one of his trouser pockets.

The maid, startled, unfolds the paper. “W-What is this, Prince Consort?”

Izuku just smiles. “A list of individuals that I want to meet in the
grand hall in two hours. You included. So I suggest spreading the word.”

She blinks owlishly as he sighs. “Now. I want this to be done now.”

The maid looks at Katsuki, as if waiting for his approval. He nods before looking back at Izuku.

“I shall take Princess-“

“No.”
The maid opens her mouth like a fish as Izuku continues.

“I will keep Princess Eri close to me. /You/ will go fetch everyone on that list on Royal orders. Do you understand?”

The maid, still flabbergasted, slowly nods as Izuku gently grabs Katsuki’s wrist. “I also shall be
escorting the King back to his chambers as well. Now, run along now.”

Katsuki sees Izuku give her a specific look and the maid’s face pales. Then the maid scurries off down the hall.

Izuku lets out a sigh as Eri starts talking.

“What h-happened, Big Brother?” She looks at
Izuku with big red eyes. “I th-thought I h-heard shouting earlier.”

Katsuki watches as Izuku’s face relaxes and him petting his sister’s head.

“Just some troublemakers that have finally been caught.” He smiles. “So they have been escorted out of here.”
“Will t-they come back?” Eri stutters out, Izuku shaking his head.

“No, they will not be returning back here,” he says, glancing at Katsuki. “Your brother will make sure they won’t.”

Eri then slightly turns to look at Katsuki, those similar hued eyes gazing at him.
She doesn’t speak, quickly turning her head away to snuggle closer to Izuku. Katsuki can’t help but look at the scene before him.

When… was the last time he even held his sister?

He thinks back through his fever riddled mind. He… held her once when she was babe.
Another time, she was around 2 years old and held onto his leg when he had to go to the battlefield when a battle broke out at one of the borders. He held her then…

But he hasn’t held her since.

The battle that should have only lasted a few weeks…

Lasted two years.
When Katsuki returned, he wasn’t the same…

“Your Majesty.” Izuku’s voice breaks him out of his trance when he realizes they are in front of his chamber doors. “We have arrived.”

Just then, Jirou comes around a corner and spots them.

“My King!” She shouts, marching up to them.
“I have been looking-“

“Advisor Jirou.” She stops and glances at Izuku. A look passes over her face, but she quickly schools it into a poker face.

“Good afternoon, Prince Consort,” she says, bowing slightly. “Princess Eri. What do I owe the pleasure of you both being here?”
Izuku nods his head in acknowledgment, a little bit taut though. “Good afternoon, Advisor Jirou. I was helping escort my /husband/ here to his chambers because he’s come down with a stress fever and needs rest.”

He looks at Katsuki, putting up the back of his hand to his
forehead.

“He took a pill to help reduce the fever, but should head to bed to rest. Our King has been overworking himself.”

Jirou stares at the Prince Consort, her eyes flashing both worry and wariness. She appears she can’t fathom what he says is a lie or not.
Izuku just pulls away from Katsuki and comes up beside her. Patting her on the shoulder, he says, “I shall leave his care to you, Advisor. And do keep him away from stressful things, like his writing desk for example.”

He smiles at Jirou. “Now we must be off. I have an important
matter to attend to. So I bid you adieu.”

He walks off, leaving a flabbergasted Jirou behind as Eri peeks over his shoulder, waving goodbye.

Jirou turns to Katsuki. “My Gods, the maids and butlers weren’t kidding about his personality doing a 180…” She shakes her head. “It’s
like he’s a totally different person…”

Katsuki watches Izuku walk down the hall, further away from him and Jirou.

He can’t help but admit…

That she is totally right.

He /is/ a completely different person…
A nagging feeling creeps up from the back of his mind, his subconscious speaking.

/‘Or he reverted back to how he used to be…’/

That startles Katsuki at this notion.

Why is he thinking such a thing? He never knew Izuku until his marriage proposals started coming in.
But that nagging feeling doesn’t go away as Jirou, confirming that he indeed has a fever, helps him into his chambers.

He’ll deal with this feeling later, for now he must rest.

✨The Prince with the Scalpel 👑🩺✨

The maids and butlers that were called into the grand hall whisper amongst themselves. They heard that this morning’s meeting resulted with people getting arrested!

/“Maybe I can sneak into Duchess Miura’s chambers and get that pretty necklace she always flaunts,”/ whispers a
maid to another. The other giggles at this.

/“Don’t forget her satin scarves. Those things must cost a fortune if we sell it to the right people.”/

More people giggle and grin, thinking of the riches they will get when they “clean” out the former council members chambers.
Also, what does the “Phantom” Consort want with them? He’s more docile than they expected. After all, there are rumors he would fire a maid for even looking at him wrong.

Just then, two knights they all know well step into the grand hall.

Kaminari Denki and Sero Hanta.
Following right behind them is the Prince Consort.

What puzzles everyone is the fact that Princess Eri is in his arms, happily munching away on a cookie. They knew the Prince Consort and Princess had a bond, but not strong like this.

Izuku comes to a stop on the upper balcony,
looking down at all of them with a certain look in his emerald green eyes. To some people in the room, the lights from the balcony windows behind him give him an almost ethereal look.

He looks around at everyone, a calculated smile gracing his face.
“Hello everyone,” he greets them in a cheerful manner. “I bet you all are wondering why I called for you here today.”

Many nod their heads, others looking around and quietly talking. He holds up his hand and then points to the crowd.

“You, there.”
The person, a butler, stops talking and then points to himself.

“Me, Prince Consort?” He asks, confusion all over his face. Izuku nods.

“Yes,” he replies, beckoning for him to come forward. The butler reluctantly does so. Everyone waits for what he’s going to say.
The butler looks at the Prince Consort. He hasn’t had much interaction with him, but he has been-

“You are hereby let go from the castle,” states Izuku, his smile gone. The butler pales as everyone gasps.

“W-What?!” The butler screeches. “I’ve been here for years!”
“Yes,” Izuku tilts his head slightly, “you have been here quite a while. You know your way around the castle and gained seniority under the Queen Dowager’s rule…”

“See, I’ve been here for so long and I don’t see a reason for me-“

Izuku holds up his hand to silence him.
That playful smile comes back to his face. “But not anymore. Your days here have ended because the Queen Dowager can’t protect thieves like you all anymore.”

People gasp even more, murmuring and looking at one another before people begin shouting out at Izuku.
“H-How dare you accuse us of such a thing?!!”

“You can’t do this! Where is the Queen Dowager?! The king?! Where-“

“Silence!”

Izuku’s shout causes every person to freeze, hearing the authority in his voice. His face is stern as he turns to look at Eri.
Eri, having stopped eating her cookie, looks up at Izuku. “Eri dear… Is this man right here,” He points to the butler he called up, “one of the ones you were speaking of?”

She looks down for a moment, causing confusion. What does she-

“Y-Yes… He is one of them.”
Izuku nods and turns to glare down at the butler.

“I believe you are in possession of something /very/ special… A brooch with two birds, white ravens, and in the center a garnet.”

The butler stampers out, “I-I have no idea what you are talking about!”

Izuku glares harder.
“I do believe you /do/ know what I’m talking about.” He sets Eri down and begins to descend down the steps to his left, Sero following behind him as Kaminari stays with Eri.

Once down the steps, Izuku stands before the butler. Up close, the young prince seems more intimidating.
Those eyes of his could burn through a person’s skull if he stares long enough.

“You were the last person Princess Eri saw in her chambers when the brooch disappeared,” he says, walking up closer to the butler. “That brooch was very special to the Princess… A special gift she
received the day she was born. Kept it in her jewelry box and loved it to bits.”

He glances around at the other staff, a chill running down their spines. Standing at attention, he says, “I investigated you all since the second week I arrived here. Gathering as much evidence as I
could…” People pale as he once again looks at the butler. “You had a special interest in a maid from a nearby estate and gifted her recently a very expensive piece of jewelry… A brooch of all things.”

The butler pales, his knees shaking as a shadow looms over Izuku’s face.
Izuku growls out lowly, only for the butler to here. “I suggest getting that brooch back that you’ve stolen and you /may/ be able to save your sorry hands from my blade… Do you /understand/ me?”

As if to prove his point, Izuku lets the butler see his concealed blade.
The downright horrified expression on his face makes Izuku feel satisfaction course through his veins. He kindly smiles and pats the butler’s shoulder.

“I’d get to getting back that brooch. You would like to keep your hands, right?”

“Y-Yes!! R-Right away!!”
The butler all but trips over his own feet as he pushes past people to get to the exit. Sero whistles beside Izuku.

“You struck the fear of the Gods into him… I don’t know if I should be scared or impressed.”

“Had to do what I had to do. Make sure someone tails him.”
Sero nods his head. “Right away, Your Highness.”

Izuku turns his attention to everyone else in the room. “Now… I know the whole lot of you have stolen from the castle and it’s occupants. Be it small things like silverware or a fine plate… But most of you decided to go bigger
in the items. A small painting that wouldn’t be noticed. At least, for a long while. A pair or two of unused earrings. Articles of clothing… And stealing from not only from the Princess, but from me as well.”

He glances at some maids. “I know for a fact you three stole some of
my more fancier shirts and cuff links.”

“B-But we didn’t-“

Izuku ignores the three as he points to the front doors. “I won’t have you all arrested… yet. But you all will now by blacklisted from ever working in /any/ noble household. Even for a lord.”
People start squawking like geese, some calling him a bastard or saying they have children to feed. Izuku scoffs at them all.

“The only ones you should blame if you and your fellow thieves… Also, from now on until you die, you all are hereby banished from the castle.”
This causes an uproar when Sero whistles and other knights come barging in. They start corralling the former employees like sheep to escort them out the door.

Izuku calls out to them. “I have already gotten all of your replacements coming to the castle to fill your former roles.
Also, expect a bill from the castle for every item you stole.”

Kaminari is up on the balcony as he holds up Eri, who waved at them. “Bye-Bye everyone!!”

Izuku and Sero have to hold in their laughter at the faces the former employees make as they are all finally kicked out.
Izuku sighs in relief.

Another problem solved.

“Geez, I seriously think you need a vacation with all the work you put into this,” remarks Sero, glancing at Izuku. “How long have you been planning this?”

He glances at his shoes, shuffling them for a bit before responding, “A
day or two after I officially got married to the king.”

“Dang, that long?” asks Kaminari, coming down the steps with Eri in his arms. “Is that why I saw you a lot in the library area or with a book in hand?”

Izuku nods. “Yes… Would even go in at night and do some more research
into this situation until I had enough evidence against these former staff members.”

“Seriously, Your Highness, ya need a vacation! I think you worked harder than even Bakugou!” Kaminari laughs a little. “And that man can be a workaholic especially after the-“
Kaminari suddenly shuts his mouth, like he was revealing something he shouldn’t have. Izuku looks at him quizzically.

“Especially after what, Sir Kaminari?” he inquires, Kaminari shaking his head.

“Oh nothing! Forget I said anything!”
Izuku eyes hims suspiciously, but decides to not press further. “As for that vacation you were talking about,” he glances at Eri, “it would be good to get Eri out of this castle for a while.”

Sero and Kaminari nod. Then Sero gets an idea. “How about the summer estate?”
“The summer estate?” Izuku asks. He’s never heard about the summer estate before. He’s heard about the hunting lodge that Katsuki liked to frequent that was towards the northern mountain range.

But never the summer estate.
“You’ve probably never heard of it until now,” says Sero, a smile gracing his face. “It was made by the late King when he and the Queen Dowager were engaged. They would go every summer until he sadly died when Katsuki was a kid.”
“After he died, the Queen Dowager quit going and, in my opinion, looked relieved.”

Izuku rolls his eyes. Of course she would be relieved. She probably didn’t even like the place to begin with. “Is this summer estate still maintained or will it need repairs?”
“Well, the Queen Dowager took out the small amount of servants and workers that were there,” replies Sero. “However, a friend of the late king’s family has been taking care of it. Their family name is the Urarakas I believe.”

Izuku nods. He would have to compensate the family
for taking care of the estate for all these years.

“Are they a noble family or commoner family?”

“Commoner, but the Uraraka family used to be nobility a long time ago. But sadly their family fell on hard times and became a fallen house that was kicked out of the capital.”
Nodding his head, Izuku begins going over a plan in his mind. First, he will send some compensation money to the Uraraka family for taking care of the estate. Then he will discuss the idea of the vacation to the King.

But first.

He pulls out envelopes with the Bakugou family
seal on them in wax. He hands them to Sero. “I would like these letters delivered to the neighboring kingdoms.”

“What are they?” Sero looks at the envelopes.

“We let these employees of past stealing go… And I know the moment they get home, they’ll run off to another kingdom.”
“Oh!” exclaims Kaminari. “So you’re going to warn the neighboring kingdoms about these thieves so they can’t get any jobs with nobility or their castles!”

Izuku nods as Sero looks over the envelopes.

“I don’t see one for the Todoroki Kingdom though. Should we warn them too?”
Izuku just smiles. “I haven’t written a letter for them yet. These kingdoms are our closest allies and will reach them faster. Besides, the mountains around the Todoroki Kingdom are treacherous around this time of year.”

Bandits love to surround mountains and ambush people.
So he doesn’t want to put their couriers at risk going to that bastard of an empire. And that’s what they are.

The Todoroki Kingdom is an empire… Or, at least it will be in a year or so when they take over a smaller kingdom for their lumber when theirs begins to run out.
Hmm, now that he thinks about it, that unnamed kingdom was more of a territory than anything else. They just stuck someone on top and made them a monarchy.

They may be small, but their lumber industry is astonishing.

They have such rich soil that anything can grow there.
So they replant trees as soon as they cut down old ones. It’s reminds Izuku of the modern day lumber industry he was used to in his second life.

As of right now, they are only lumber. But once the Todoroki Kingdom gets ahold of them, their production will skyrocket.

They will
begin growing all sorts of crops for the future Todoroki Empire’s army and people. They become a oiled machine while other kingdoms start to face famine and disease.

But… If the Bakugou Kingdom were to get to that territory first…

A larger smile crosses his face.
If the Bakugou Kingdom gets that territory first before the Todoroki Kingdom, then it would not only benefit this kingdom in the upcoming droughts in the next year…

It will also benefit his own kingdom as well.

The Midoriya Kingdom will once again flourish.
The Midoriya Kingdom lost their emerald and jade mines… But it doesn’t mean that it didn’t have any other resources. His kingdom has produced some of the beat cartographers and botanists.

The territory would benefit greatly from the Midoriya botanists.
Yeah, he will make this deal happen for his kingdom. The kingdom can only survive for so long on the dowry the Bakugou Kingdom had to give them for the marriage to happen. They had to because the Midoriya Kingdom gifted them something special.

The largest emerald the Midoriya
Kingdom still had in possession and their last one too.

But, Mitsuki was the one who received it…

So there’s no telling where it is by now.

“Hey, you seem a little down?” asks Kaminari, still holding Eri. “Everything okay?”
"O-Oh, it's nothing!" he says, waving them off. "Just a lot of things on my mind. Also, where is this summer estate located?"

Sero and Kaminari give him worried looks, but thankfully don't press any further. "It's a little bit away from the city of Musutafu. One of our kingdom's
smaller port cities. We haven't visited it ourselves in a while, but I heard he has gorgeous seaside beaches and parks."

Musutafu...

Why does that sound-

Yuuei!!

The most prestigious medical college is near Musutafu! He can visit it when he goes to the summer estate!
Maybe in the future he can also attend the college. He's old enough to attend, 19 going on twenty. But he knows the tuition, just like in his second life, will be crazy expensive.

Maybe if he sells his clothing, most he only wore once, he could save money towards the tuition.
But he will think about that later.

Now there's the problem of the Commoner's Fund. Money had been embezzled from him and other people had been doing fraud on their shipment reports along with selling counterfeit items.

The economy will be taking quite a hit.
If selling his barely worn, expensive clothes could pay for his future tuition, then maybe clothes he's worn a bit more could help. And some of his jewlery as well. He only needs one specific pair of earrings.

His hands briefly reach up to gently brush up against his ears.
Izuku can feel the smooth, but slightly bumpy texture of the pearl before going down and feeling the coldness of the emerald nestled in the gold tht encompasses it. These earrings are very special to him.

Something he keeps on his person at all times. Image
His other jewelry he can live without, but not these. He will /never/ sell these earrings.

They were a gift from his mother after all…

/“Izuku, these earrings are old family heirlooms. Take good care of them, okay?”/

/“Okay mama!!”/
/“Haha, alright. The scenery is so- Izuku!! Get down!!”/

Izuku immediately blocks that memory out. He pulls his hands away from his ears, continuing down the hall. But it does remind him.

He needs to visit his mother sometime.
Then he feels something patting at his shoulder. He turns around and finds Eri in Kaminari’s arms, her little arms outstretched towards him.

Izuku smiles, knowing what she wants.

He gently takes her from Kaminari and places her against his hip as they continue down the halls.
“Sir Kaminari, alert one of the best clothing merchants to come to the castle in the next few days.”

Both knights quirk a brow. Sero speaks up. “Are you going to be purchasing anything?”

Izuku shakes his head.
“No, I’m going to be /selling/ something.”

“Your Majesty, we have officially confiscated the assets held by the embezzlers along with their stocks.”

Katsuki listens to Jirou prattle on and on. He just half way listens as he gazes out the window.
He watches as a carriage suddenly comes up to the front of the castle’s main steps and door. It comes to a stop and a familiar person comes stepping out.

It’s a woman with honey blond hair hair and matching eyes. Utsushimi Camie, a famous clothing merchant.

Why the Hell is she
doing here?

His answer arrives in the form of one Prince Consort strolling out of the castle wearing a cotton, long sleeve shirt, tweed vest, and light brown trousers. He and Camie meet, shaking hands.

The Camie woman looks Izuku up and down, a certain look in her eyes.
The next minute, Izuku offers his arm to escort her inside and she immediately latches onto him. Katsuki can see how she snuggles into his arm, her looking up at Izuku while saying something.

A light blush coats his cheeks.

And the fountain pen in Katsuki’s hand neatly breaks.
“Whoa! Katsuki!” exclaims Jirou, prying the pen out his hand. “What the Hell?! What did the pen ever do to you?” She puts her hand on her hip, giving him a look.

He abruptly turns away from the window, a scowl on his face.

“Nothing, ears. Give me back my damn pen.”
“No,” she states, keeping his pen away. “I haven’t seen you this agitated since Kaminari and Sero pulled that prank on you two years ago.”

“I am /not/ agitated,” he growls out, his thoughts betraying him with images of Camie and Izuku.

Jirou just gives him a look.
“And I’m a wizard,” she bluntly says, crossing her arms across her chest. “Now tell me, what. Is. Wrong. With. You?”

Katsuki turns his head away, scowling. “That Utsushimi woman is here…”

Jirou lets out a sigh. “Let me guess, the Prince Consort invited that woman here?”
Katsuki nods and Jirou just sighs again. “He must be trying to buy something from one of her boutiques or have her dressmakers make him something. Would like someone to go investigate?”

Katsuki thinks for a moment, then he stands up. “I’ll go investigate what he is doing.”
"But sir, you still have a lot of paperwork to fin-" She stops in her tracks to see his pile of paperwork already completed. He sends her a smirk.

"Already done, ears." He heads for the door. "Lets head out already!"

He goes out the door, faster than Jirou can blink. She shakes
her head. Katsuki seems more... enthusiastic than she's ever seen him. Ever since that day of the meeting, he seems more... calm. Especially with the subject of the Prince Consort.

There's still a bit of wariness in his eyes, but not as much as before.

And he does seem less
tense now when Izuku is around him. They still bicker occasionally, just like-

Jirou feels herself snickering, trying to contain her laughter.

Oh boy, they bicker like those old married couples, but with no real bite behind their words. Maybe Katsuki marrying Prince Izuku was
a better decision than they thought?

While she doesn't fully trust Izuku, he is different from the rumors and reports had stated. He seems like the perfect person for Katsuki to bounce ideas off of and the Prince right back.

Honestly... Izuku seems to be a better match than
Katsuki's previous fiance.

She leaves the study to follow Katsuki down the hall.

Jirou never voiced her opinion about Katsuki's fiance, but she always felt wary of him. Like he was hiding something behind that charming smile. Yet Katsuki loved him dearly and still does.
However, she has noticed that he doesn't stare at his old engagement ring or that jade medallion as much as he used to. And he hasn't sent his ex-fiance a letter in the last couple of days either.

Jirou continues to follow Katsuki, keeping her mouth shut that he had actually
wanted to visit Izuku all along.

They get to the wing when they here Camie and Izuku talking.

"Are you sure you want to do this?"

Katsuki freezes when he hears Camie say this, Jirou nearly colliding with his back.
"Yes, I want to." They hear Izuku reply.

Katsuki feels his body tensing up, hands twitching. Is Izuku... having an affair with Utsushimi Camie?! No... Izuku has possibly never met the woman until today, so it wouldn't be-

"If you say so."

Katsuki hears the clinking of a
godsdamn /belt/ being unbuckled that his body moves on its own.

Katsuki doesn't know why he feels this angry. He as well as Izuku can have official concubines whenever they want, but this-this feeling won't go away!

So he doesn't think twice before barging in.
He can hear Jirou call out to him along with Izuku’s.

“Your Majesty?” Izuku looks at him quizzically, holding out a satin belt as Camie inspects it along with a silk robe. “What brings you here?” he asks, albeit confusedly.

Camie glances up, a similar look on her face.
“Hello Your Majesty,” she says, doing a curtsy. “What do we owe the pleasure of having your presence today?”

Katsuki tries to speak, but his mind is stalled. He glances around and sees boxes and racks of clothing and jewelry… Ones that belong to none other than Izuku.

After this, Katsuki goes to buy himself cigarettes… Only for his card to decline.

“What the fuck…?!” Katsuki glances down at his card and notices that while it has the same All Might print, it’s not his name on it.
