An excellent thread by @thekaipullai on why we celebrated #HarGarTiranga#IndiaAt75 . And as @lakshmianand96 wrote, "We are celebrating the fact that that India is flourishing in spite of LeLis, urban naxals, the Tukde Tukde gang, the Lutyens Cabal, the wokes, the NGOs,
Bollywood, morally and financially corrupt dynastic politicians and meddling foreign powers.
That is some achievement!"
“Power will go to the hands of rascals, rogues, freebooters; all Indian leaders will be of low calibre & men of straw. They will have sweet tongues and silly hearts. They will fight amongst themselves for power and India will be lost in political squabbles.
A day would come when even air and water would be taxed in India.” - This statement is attributed to Winston Churchill (but like many things on Internet, appears to have no basis).
We celebrated 75th year with gusto because we wanted to tell the world that we are thriving inspite of everything around us -
a. lousy neighbours in varying degrees, except probably for Bhutan
b. a set of internal enemies - from politicians, political parties (one of which is loyal to China)
c. bunch of press-titutes - who need to be steamed over - who rejoice at India's failures and stoke up imaginary issues (remember 'Coup' ta!!??)
d. irrelevant economists who take a joy-ride either on taxis or worse still come to India at the drop of a hat to pontificate and give sermons
e. ex-Babus who are all but inimical - remember ex-DD boss, Ghose and / or Sirkar or Sarcar or whatever??
Let me mention Nirupama Rao, lest she should be offended in not taking her name;
f. Not Required Indians, who will do everything to ensure India is bad mouthed, not grow and like.
g. We have some industrialists, who take glee at the discomfiture and pains of a growing body. An industrialist poked fun when the test run of Train 18 had to be halted on account of technical reasons.
Yet, inspite of all this, India found a catalyst in the year 2014, that started pivoting not only into the path that was meant for India but actually created a path for her. She has started coalescing into one mega power across - Military, Economic and Space.
This is still a work in progress. Infrastructure wise, what #AtalBihariVajpayeeJi started is getting its logical extension and conclusion in terms of road, river and sea ways.
We are conclusively proving that we are a force to reckon with in the area of digital payments, ecommerce (read the thread by @abhymurarka on rural ecommerce). There are many more.
And to rub salt, pepper and chilly on their wound, India surmounted the Chinese Virus brilliantly. Remember, some patalkars were saying that it will take India just 10 years to vaccinate the entire population!! What we did the entire world knows.
Much to their misfortune, India's fatality rates on account of Covid was very less despite UN and WHO trying to prove otherwise. Not many people are aware that even prior to Independence, India's 2 strong areas were: (a) Physics and (b) Statistics.
Yes, disparities remain. Senior Citizens' position has worsened and that they have been made more vulnerable. Neither the @pmo nor the @FinMinIndia@nsitharaman care much for them - despite all the protestations.
@vijayadar in his thread has elaborated on the dangers facing India and I would not repeat them.
So, yes, we have all the right reasons to celebrate and as we celebrate, the world is celebrating along with India its march ahead.
Not just because India is their friend; but because they know that India, when in right hands, like now, will take them along in the growth path. India, unlike some countries, has permanent friends; not just permanent interests. #JaiHindJaiBharat#IndiaAt75
And yes, there was a mention of MiLords in a response to the original note. On that let me refer to the thread of @MumbaichaDon on the nepotism in the hallowed chambers of justice. Read it here:
An extremely well worded thoughts on the dangers that is faced by India. I always have maintained that dangers from within are more dangerous than the ones from outside. Internal enemies are invisible, generally. But post 2019, especially, these rats have come out of their holes.
For these internal enemies, aided by financiers from various geographies across the globe, looting and raping India is the only goal - along with self-aggrandizement. And for the side-kicks, pieces of India and other crumbs are the spoils that have been promised.
As @vijayadar writes, BJP needs to take care of its core constituencies - its karyakartas on the one hand, and its voter base on the other. The other actions that it must take is well elucidated in the thread -
#SpeciallyAbledChild#Mentalhealth Writing this thread against the backdrop of a very tragic event where a dentist mom threw her specially abled child from the 4th floor and the child died. My sympathies to the entire family. We don't know what made her take that extreme step.
Let me share a life experience from the other end of the spectrum and it's a tribute to them. My father-in-law's cousin gave birth to a daughter, who on account of various reasons, was born where she needed help with her daily activities. She can't stand and her hands are bent.
Both the parents, especially the mother, took it as a challenge and treated the daughter as a normal one. From a small age, this girl could move only in a wheelchair. This girl also took on the challenge gamely. #optimism#positivity#Grateful
On the auspicious occasion of #VaralakshmiVratham#VaralakshmiNonmbu, a shoutout for some Ladies of Twitter whom I regard very highly for various reasons. It has been a privilege to interact with them, which we do on a fairly regular basis.
Being 3 to 6 Kg overweight could protect people from ailments ranging from Tuberculosis to Alzheimer's disease, research indicates.
Those carrying 7 to 12 Kg extra are better able to recover from adverse conditions such as emphysema, pneumonia, and various injuries and infections, states the report.
Life can be a series of hyperlinks for ordinary folks like me and we end up at a different point than what we intended!!!
One fine day, it all started with my best half wanting to do some Yoga. That led her going for the mat.
When she took out the mat, she discovered that the cover of the container, which housed the mat, is broken.
"Aji Sunte ho (she did not exactly call that but what the heck !!), should I throw out the cover?" came the question disturbing my somnambulist feelings.
"Yes dear", I responded, not wanting to show that I did not make head or tail of what she wanted.
"Come over here". And I obeyed her command and went to the room where she was.
"See, this cover is broken. Should I throw it?
