Minnesota's GOP nominee for governor, Scott Jensen, removed a line saying he "believes in the sanctity of human life, from conception to natural death." In Oregon, GOP gubernatorial candidate Christine Drazan scrubbed her website's issues page, removing pro-life bonafides.

Amanda Adkins, the GOP candidate running for Congress against Rep. Sharice Davids in Kansas, once called for "legislation to make clear the Fourteenth Amendment's protection applies to unborn children." Recently in an op-ed she said doesn’t "support a federal ban on abortion.”
Rep. Nancy Mace, Republican congresswoman of South Carolina, has said, “I am staunchly pro-life. I have a 100% pro-life voting record.” Now she’s softening her position online.

VICTORY IN NEW MEXICO! @GovMLG just issued an executive order to help implement the state’s Extreme Risk Firearm Protection Order Act, which authorizes law enforcement to petition courts to temporarily remove guns from people who pose a risk to themselves or others. #nmpol
The executive action follows the deadly shootings of multiple members of the Albuquerque Muslim community.

New Mexico has only filed 7 petitions since the EEPO law passed in 2019. Of the states with red flag Laws, New Mexico has the second lowest rate of implementation. #nmpol

The court stayed the injunction for 30 days pending appeal, so the prohibition is still in effect for now. A reminder that @GovAbbott just passed permitless carry, so there's no background check or training required to carry a hidden, loaded handgun in public in Texas. #txlege
Since 2018, 6 of the 9 of the deadliest US mass shootings have been carried out by gunmen under 21, and 18 to 20-year-olds commit gun homicides at triple the rate of adults over 21. Texas is home to 4 of the 10 deadliest US mass shootings and has some of the weakest gun laws.

This year, California has taken action on ghost guns, marketing firearms to minors, cracking down on unlicensed manufacturers, holding the largely unchecked firearms industry accountable for dangerous practice. #caleg Image
They also passed several first-of-their-kind bills, including requiring all schools in California to send information home every year to parents about how to keep firearms securely stored, and one allowing citizens to enforce California’s assault weapons and ghost gun laws.

Schools are opening. Given the amount of gunfire on school grounds last year, gun violence is top of mind for many students. People ask me about how to talk their kids about their fears while also helping them stay and feel safe. Some tips based on experts' advice...
First, it's important to consider the age and maturity of your child. Children are uniquely vulnerable to trauma. There are different stages of childhood development and children’s understanding of complex issues, ideas and the world around them is different from stage to stage.
Also, consider the exposure: while some children may be traumatized by news coverage of school shootings, for many youth in America, gun violence is a daily experience in their communities and they may face physical risk just going to and from school.

.@YouTube isn’t doing enough to moderate videos on its platform that sell or show how to manufacture guns and firearm accessories. We’ve found hundreds of such videos on YouTube, despite them clearly being prohibited by the company’s community guidelines.
