⚠️Scoop—MOTHER OF GOD—Just got this leak from CDC-insider source—it seems #COVID variants worse than CDC has been admitting. The new highly evasive #BQ1 & #BQ11 sub variants are surging over 11%—but CDC has not shared it yet! Here is what will be posted soon (left) 🆚 current. 🧵
2) I cannot describe just how mad I am at this disaster. #BQ1 and #BQ11 are two of the most evasive variants known to date. And CDC seems to have been holding onto this data? Can it be true? Why did this data have to leak to me from insider sources? It’s so bad.
3) So, HOW BAD IS IT??? People don’t get what I mean by among the “most evasive” — the #BQ1 (Typhon) and #BQ11 (Cerberus) are basically dubbed “escape variants” because they escape from immunity!! 👀
5) We scientists have been predicting the explosion of #BQ1 and #BQ11 for weeks now— we have seen the explosion in sequencing data. Look at that exponential surge. This is why I think #BQ* family of sub variants will be likely deadly in coming months.
6) Million dollar question — so does the bivalent #Ba5 booster shot work against #Q1 and #BQ11? I *think* so… BQ are subtypes of the BA5 branch family. And in neutralization studies of BA5 infection (akin to ~BA5 booster) by @yunlong_cao, BQ sub variants still neutralized well.
7) But #BQ1 & #BQ11 are totally resistant to major MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY DRUGS— they effectively “escapes Evusheld and Bebtelovimab” says @yunlong_cao in his study. Basically MAB drugs are useless now against these two new BQ variants.
8) So where does this sudden BQ1 and BQ11 mess put us? Our models predict a variety of 5+ key mutation sub variants will cause a surge of #covid by mid to late November just in time for Thanksgiving, especially if we don’t BA5 bivalent boost. Again, BQ* are subtypes of BA5.
9) MISSING FROM PRIOR WEEKLY REPORTS—someone asked me why the leaker and I are upset… it’s not just CDC posting once a week—the #BQ1 & #BQ11 should have been reported to be surging in prior weekly reports, but they weren’t! CDC has a rule to report any variant over 1%—epic fail.
10) CDC website for NOWCAST has been updated… this is now… exactly what I posted last night. BQ1 and BQ11 now listed in the variant list for the FIRST TIME ever despite having been over 1% for 2-3 weeks.

Things are not going well when Uganda has to impose lockdown on 2 districts to stop #Ebola. The @CDCgov also activated its emergency network last week. We should maybe consider fever and virus testing at airports.
Warned about Ebola other day. It seems to be getting worse if CDC is getting serious about it too.
3) Ebola cases have been found in Kampala, capital of Uganda. Kampala is a big internationally connected city and is very densely populated in parts. This “Sudan strain” has no known vaccine. telegraph.co.uk/global-health/…
📍Huge 10k Scottish study finds 1 in 20 people who had been sick with #COVID reported **not recovering at all**, and another 4 in 10 said they had not fully recovered from their infections many months later. #LongCovid is damn serious and real. nytimes.com/2022/10/12/hea…
2) People with previous symptomatic Covid infections reported certain persistent symptoms, such as breathlessness, palpitations and confusion or difficulty concentrating, at a rate roughly 3 times as high as uninfected people in surveys from 6 to 18 months later, the study found.
3) those patients also experienced elevated risks of more than 20 other symptoms relating to the heart, respiratory health, muscle aches, mental health and the sensory system. #LongCovid
BREAKING—White House COVID Coordinator @AshishKJha46 is now discussing COVID—highlighting there are new strains popping up, he says, including those that can “evade” existing treatments. ➡️Anyone paying attention knows the looming crisis. Please get the new bivalent #Booster!
2) Our team’s model shows late November is when variant cases will be surging very quickly again. “Pentagon model” is our nickname for the 5 fastest surging sub variants added together.
3) What about prior infection or hybrid immunity of combo infection+old vaccination against these new variants??? Bad news— the new variants are highly evasive against hybrid immunity too. Don’t count on hybrid immunity to protect you much. Get the new bivalent #booster.
⚠️We are headed for a bad flu season. Cases are surging MUCH EARLIER than last year. This winter will be a double whammy of both #flu & #COVID & and likely RSV too. Did you get your flu shot yet? This year’s shot is a good match for the strain too. #GetVaccinated 🙏
North America and Europe’s flu season is going to be bad - we know because Australia’s flu season last few months was epic bad. ERs are overwhelmed and nurses are breaking down crying. That’s how bad. 😢
Pediatric hospitalizations are already surging in the US. Fever medicines are nearly sold out in Canada. If you don’t think there is a very bad winter coming, and if you don’t act to get protected soon, you are not prepared for what this winter will bring. #BringBackMasks
📍HIGHEST FIREARM HOMICIDE IN 50 YEARS—from 2020 to 2021, the % of homicides from firearm increased from 79% to 81% resulting in the **highest % for gun homicide in more than 50 years**! Age 25-44 also has the worst rate of gun homicide. #EndGunViolence cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/7…
2) An increase of 8.3% gun homicide in just one year is also absolutely insane if you think about it. In just one year!
Concerning—US just spent $290 million on anti-radiation pills used to "save lives following radiation and nuclear emergencies". Nplate is designed to fight acute radiation syndrome (ARS)’s uncontrolled bleeding. Official claim it’s “Long-standing purchase”businessinsider.com/us-spends-290m…
2) Nplate is designed to treat patients suffering from acute radiation syndrome (ARS), which occurs when a person's entire body is exposed to a high dose of penetrating radiation, reaching internal organs in a matter of seconds, per HHS.
3) The drug stimulates the body's production of platelets, fighting symptoms of ARS which include uncontrolled and life-threatening bleeding due to a loss of those platelets.
