This is #ArmitaAbbasi. She took part in an anti-regime protest in #Iran. Today, nobody knows where she is. We just know: She was (TW!) brutally raped.

#ArmitaAbbasi took part in an anti-regime protest in Karaj, Iran. On October 18th she was taken to a hospital by a team of Security forces. The hospital staff discovered that she had been arrested 8 days before.

Her body was full of signs of repeated and brutal rape. Her head had been shaved. She had anal bleeding and vaginal scars. She was constantly shaking and crying. She had been arrested and brutally tortured.

The security forces wanted to isolate her in special rooms. Although the doctors, psychologists & psychiatrists visited her, the security forces prevented them from documenting their findings.

But by now we know: Iran is using #rape as a method of torture towards prisoners. Men, women, girls and boys. Sexual violence is a immense part of the crimes the Iranian Regime commites everyday towards its citizens, no matter what gender or age they are.

While Armita was in the hospital, her family was informed and immediatly rushed to the hospital to see her

But before they arrived, the security forces kidnapped her through a back door and no one has heard from her ever since. Nobody knows where she is or if she’s still alive.

More than 18.000 political prisoners have been taken by the Islamic Republic of #Iran in recent weeks. We only know the names of around 3.000 of them.

Their family members mostly do not know in which prisons their loved ones are. Many are tortured, denied access to medicine or a lawyer, and denied contact with their families. Just like Armita.

Many prisoners face death, the first death sentences have already been ordered.

I want to point out that this treatment of prisoners violates the United Nations Convention against Torture & the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. What the Iranian Regime is doing is against our global idea how prisoners have to be treated.

I protest these proceedings in the strongest possible terms! We must state what the Iranian Regime is doing without any regret: violating human and prisoners rights!

Since #ArmitaAbbasi is threatened with the death penalty, I urgently appeal to the Iranian ambassador in Germany to intervene for her life! Furthermore, I also ask him to communicate my concern to the government in Iran.

Armita, you're not alone. We are fighting for you. And with you!
