Yes, my both Ukrainian grandfathers were speaking Ukrainian initially but they were russified, forced to speak russian. Moreover, my grandfather was left-handed, he was re-taught to write with his right hand, because THAT'S HOW IT HAS TO BE in soviet union. 1/5
Also my parents couldn’t get the education they wanted, first because women were not accepted to certain specialities, case of my mom. And second, Jewish people were not allowed to study certain specialities because they are Jewish, case of my father. His mother was Jewish

and in Soviet Union your nationality was written in your id. So that was enough, having a Jewish mother to be banned from studying some specialities.
The most tragic situation was with my grandfather who gone trough concentration camps in Germany during WWII. You were 3/5 #USSR
considered as traitor if you got in captivity, and returning back to Soviet Union he had to hide the fact he was in concentration camps. His older brother an officer of soviet army helped him with that. But in a perspective, my grandfather had to quit the jobs as soon 4/5 #USSR
