#Afghanistan: “The release of journalist Ivor Shearer is a small relief after four months of unjust and arbitrary detention, and we call on the Taliban to immediately release all other journalists who are being held,” said @CPJAsia's @behlihyi.
The Taliban authorities and U.S. @StateDept have not identified the two Americans who were released on Tuesday. Citing anonymous sources, CNN & The Washington Post reported that one of them was Ivor Shearer.

#Bulgaria: Police said they were considering a criminal investigation into the practices described in the article, but focused questions on where @CapitalBg got its information. The two journalists declined to answer, citing their journalistic right to protect their sources.
On December 18, officers from #Kazakhstan’s Financial Monitoring Agency in Almaty arrested Mikhail Kozachkov, who covers alleged corruption and abuses by government officials and prominent business figures for independent news website @time_kz and his Telegram channel.
