🚨 BREAKING: Shooting attack in Huwara. 2 people injured.

Update: One person was lightly injured and one moderately injured in tonight’s shooting attack in Huwara, #WestBank/Judea and Samaria.

🚨@IDF: A shooting attack from a passing vehicle took place this evening (Saturday) in the town of Huwara.

2 injured individuals were evacuated to a hospital.

A pursuit after the suspect is being conducted. Forces are searching the area and blocking routes.
Details to follow.

The firing came after Gallant gave a TV address calling for a halt of the process to advance judicial reform, in order to reach more nationwide consensus. As news of Gallant’s firing broke, spontaneous demonstrations began that grew quickly and reached large numbers. (2/4)
At time of writing, protests are continuing late into the night. It is yet unclear if the reform will stop. Voices from across the political spectrum, including from inside the government coalition have called to stop the reform legislation for now (3/4)

1. Dave #Chappelle is a comedian who has offended just about everyone. He can make whatever jokes he wants.
That said, we're an education organization and Chappelle's appearance on @nbcsnl offers a teachable moment.

2. He makes fun of fake or forced statements against #antisemitism. Those really are unhelpful and unnecessary. During this time of rising bigotry against #Jews, we need real love, support, and understanding.
3. #Chappelle is right that Black Americans should not be blamed for #antisemitism as a whole. And at the same time, individual leaders or members of the community should always be called out if they promote hate against #Jews. The same standards should apply to everyone.

Multiple UN Secretaries-General have condemned the UN's "Human Rights Council" (UNHRC) for its systemic bias and discrimination against #Israel, and it's only getting worse.

According to leading historians, most of the 500-750,000 Palestinian refugees from 1948 fled to escape a war of destruction that Palestinian leaders & Arab states launched against #Israel. A small minority were expelled by Israeli forces or left because Arab forces told them to.
This refugee crisis (which Palestinians call the #Nakba) was followed by nearly 850,000 Jews fleeing or being expelled from Arab states. There is no comparison between these tragedies and the #Holocaust - an industrial-scale genocide in which the Nazis murdered 6 million Jews.
