#PETITION: The Equality Act to be amended to prohibit social class discrimination in the same way it prohibits other forms of unacceptable discrimination.
It calls for the prevention of class discrimination to be included within the mandate of the EHRC.
The petition is not a plea for an additional category of 'victimhood', nor an argument that class identity trumps other identities; it's a response to the growing gaps in income & wealth inequalities, in which intersectional class has either been invisible, ignored, or forgotten.
Banning class discrimination eg closure of a hospital indirectly negatively impacting poorer communities would be prohibited; interviewers wouldn't be able to discriminate on basis of accents; & data on homelessness, schooling & on the class pay gap could be gathered nationally.
Nor is the Petition about exclusionary, historical images of class: male & Caucasian. Class is a richly inclusive identity which has the capacity to unite, rather than to intensify the so-called ‘culture wars’.
The WHITE Hart Inn, raided by Police for displaying golliwogs (which Braverman dismissed as 'nonsense'), has closed for business after Heineken & Carlsberg told the pub to stop serving its lager, & maintenance company Innserve refused to work there. 🍻
A Heineken UK spokesperson told the pub to stop serving its beer, & that it would stop supplying materials such as glasses: "After being made aware of the abhorrent display feature in the White Hart Inn, we advised the pub owners that we want nothing more to do with them."
The @Conservatives have been urged to clarify whether they will hand back about £500,000 of donations from a company linked to a Venezuelan-Italian banker charged with conspiracy, bribery and wire #fraud in the US.
A Conservative candidate in last year's May local elections has been charged with alleged electoral fraud. It was claimed signatures on his nomination papers for May 5's poll were invalid. Mr Afzal has been charged with 'two counts of corrupt practice'.

Under proposed UK Government reforms to the Official Secrets Act, UK journalists could be jailed for up to 14 years for publishing stories that 'embarrass' the UK Government - that would be pretty much every honest news story about the UK Government then. 🇬🇧 #WorldPressFreedomDay
Law & order is not normally seen as part of Govt economic policy, & for good reason. But security minister Tom Tugendhat has confessed that the draconian Public Order Act, which gives the police new powers to stop protesters, is part of the Govt’s growth strategy!🙋♂️🇬🇧⏰
"We’ve seen the nature of protest in the UK become so much more disruptive... We cannot deliver on the five pledges that the prime minister has set out – we can’t halve inflation, grow the economy, reduce debt, cut waiting lists or stop boats – if we can’t get the economy going."
The coronation is a “chance to showcase our liberty”, said Tugendhat, after the increasingly authoritarian Govt demonstrated its opposition to the 'British values' of liberty & free speech by fast-tracking draconian legislation to crack down on protests!
Christopher Harborne, AKA Chakrit Sakunkrita, is a British businessman a technology investor based in Thailand who has "given" £13.7 MILLION to Nigel Farage & Richard Tice's Reform Party, who has a £150 MILLION stake in the Ministry of Defence research spin-off QinetiQ.
Harborne’s name came up several times in the #PanamaPapers back in 2018, for acting as an intermediary for large firms - just like he’s now accused of doing with Tether, an asset-backed cryptocurrency stablecoin.
Harborne gave £1M to the Office of Boris Johnson Ltd, a company controlled by Boris Johnson (the biggest donation to an individual MP in UK history) & is now the largest single shareholder in UK defence company QinetiQ, that secured an £80M Govt contract.
