Did you know, System Operators now are so good, enabled by fancy, modern techs, that they can not only model "inertia" - something that once came ONLY from large spiny things, but they have created markets for it, regardless of it being "physical" or synthetic?
Because some power generating tech want you to believe, only they can create "inertia", or that they are best for it, and therefore, other technologies of the 21st C are "not worthy" of being part of our energy mix.
They've signed MOUs, Memos of Understanding, to build 5-9 new large nuclear power reactors from Westinghouse, and up to 20 SMRs, Small Modular Reactors, to repower fossil plants (create steam for existing turbine/generators).
I support this, but not unconditionally.
Only with cost & scheduling controls strictly enacted & agreed to prior to groundbreaking.
No more of the good ole' boy agreements, which utilities, OEMs, EPCs & gov'ts use to dance around nuclear build economics with FOAK/NOIK promises.

Enough over the border attacks on Ukraine without @TDF_UA@CinC_AFU being able to take out these daily Russian threats with US weapon systems already given. #HIMARS
We all pressure our governments to give Ukraine more & better weapons, but we don’t do a damn thing to pressure them to give AFU & Territorial Defenses what they really need…
Authorization to use what we are already providing them!
Wake the fuck up!
Ukraine’s defenders are forced to sit with their thumbs up their asses along 900km of their northern border as Russian rockets rain down nightly bc @POTUS won’t #AuthorizeUkraineNow!
Add another 800 km once the counter offensive starts & they regain ground.
Let’s not forget, Russia crossed a globally accepted redline, first occupying Chernobyl NEZ, then Europe’s largest operating #nuclear power plant… #ZNPP.
Then 🇷🇺threatened it’s safe operations for months, while world & IAEA did nothing but ‘urge’ restraint, of Ukraine also! 🤦🏼♂️
After 🇷🇺’s ‘successful’ forcing of ZNPP to shutdown by attacking critical assets not at the plant itself, completely calculated to deceive observers, Russia then threatened the safe operation of all other operating NPPs inside Ukraine in the same, calculated, manner.
When I argued last summer to destroy the large pumps stealing water from Ukraine to inconvenience occupiers in Crimea and force Moscow to decide between supplying the frontlines/stealing 🇺🇦resources or organizing logistics to supply from other sources, the predominate response… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
🇷🇺GPS Jamming causing inconveniences in Moscow, or something else?
Frankly, I don’t care, as long as Russians are inconvenienced and bear the cost of their war against Ukraine.
A History 🧵 of RBGB's aka "Russian Bridges Go BOOM!" verified & annotated Open-Source Intel of logistics, energy and critical assets enabling the Russian war machine's destruction & genocide in Ukraine, in 3 simple images.
@davidhelms570 recently posted an image of primary shipping routes of the Black Sea. Unfortunately, I cannot locate it, but it shows Tuapse as a primary russian terminal in addition to Novorossiysk (which only has a crude oil tank farm, nor refinery capacity).
I let my excitement get the better of me, hoping for the best outcome, not the actual outcome.
The orange area is the site of the explosion/fire, not the green area. The area circled green in the photo, looks like reflection from water, but is grass reflecting the facility… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
