With all 6 #ZNPP reactors in ‘cold shutdown’, basically super safe storage, if you don’t think Russians will destroy all other parts of the #Zaporizhzhia #Nuclear Power Plant, & likely do serious damage to the reactor buildings too, you may be living in an alternative universe.
The only thing @iaeaorg achieved, was convincing @energoatom_ua operators, already under extreme duress from RU AF & @RosatomGlobal terrorists, to put remaining reactors into ‘cold shutdown’.

Should #russia-n nationals &/or citizens be removed from the International Atomic Energy Agency @iaeaorg in response for @RosatomGlobal’s illegal occupation of #Zaporizhzhia #Nuclear PP and Putin’s threats of nuclear #weapons use in #Ukraine?

Let’s not forget, Russia crossed a globally accepted redline, first occupying Chernobyl NEZ, then Europe’s largest operating #nuclear power plant… #ZNPP.

Then 🇷🇺threatened it’s safe operations for months, while world & IAEA did nothing but ‘urge’ restraint, of Ukraine also! 🤦🏼‍♂️
After 🇷🇺’s ‘successful’ forcing of ZNPP to shutdown by attacking critical assets not at the plant itself, completely calculated to deceive observers, Russia then threatened the safe operation of all other operating NPPs inside Ukraine in the same, calculated, manner.

Renewed shelling early on Wednesday at the site of #Ukraine’s #Zaporizhzhya NPP damaged cables providing electricity to one of its units, temporarily forcing it to rely on emergency diesel generators for essential safety functions, IAEA was informed. bit.ly/3QW9uK8 Image
Director General @rafaelmgrossi said that the IAEA team present at #ZNPP for the past three weeks has been able to transmit information directly to IAEA headquarters in Vienna and conduct their activities without any impediment, restriction or interruption.
DG @rafaelmgrossi: "Until yesterday, there seemed to be less shelling at or near the plant, but this latest episode shows that the danger remains very real. It hasn’t gone away, and we can’t afford to lose any more time."

⚠️☢️ Power unit No. 6 of the #Zaporizhzhia #NPP disconnected from the power grid on 9/11, 2022, at 3.41 am. The station is completely stopped.- #Energoatom NAEC. Preparations are underway for its cooling and transfer to the "cold stop" state. #ZNPP 1/4
Shutting down the power unit was possible after restoring one of the power lines for #ZNPP's own needs. The line connects the station to the Ukraine's energy system. Authorities emphasize the need to stop shelling the power grids connecting the ZNPP to the power system. 2/4
In the event of repeated damage to these power grids, the only power source for ZNPP's own needs will be diesel generators. Their functioning is limited by the amount of diesel fuel available. 3/4

The International Atomic Energy Agency’s report on the situation at the #Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant described numerous ways in which Russian occupation authorities and the #Russian military are jeopardizing the safe operation of the plant.

isw.pub/RusCampaignSep…
The moderation and apparent neutrality of the IAEA's report can overshadow the extremely clear articulation of the Russian activities undermining the plant’s safety and the fact that the report attributes no dangerous actions to Ukraine. 2/
The #IAEA’s report on the situation at the #Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) is thus a coded condemnation of Russian moves that have created and are perpetuating the danger of nuclear disaster in #Ukraine. 3/

I have just addressed the #UNSC and launched a proposal to create a Nuclear Safety and Security Protection Zone (NSSPZ) in #Zaporizhzhya. This is based on the findings from our mission to the power plant there, outlined in our new report. bit.ly/3RkPbao
From the very beginning of the conflict, we've monitored the nuclear safety and security situation of #Ukraine’s nuclear facilities. Through the @IAEAIEC, we've been in contact with Ukraine's Regulatory Inspectorate and have shared frequent updates online.
Through the Support & Assistance Mission to #Zaporizhzhya (ISAMZ), we've established a presence at the #ZNPP that will help to stabilise the situation. It'll also enable us to closely monitor the situation at the site, and to receive direct, fast and reliable information.

#Ukraine informed IAEA that a back-up power line between #Zaporizhzhya NPP & a thermal power station was deliberately disconnected to extinguish a fire. The line was not damaged & for safety #ZNPP is receiving electricity from its sole operating reactor. bit.ly/3QkhDb4
Also today, four IAEA experts left #ZNPP as planned after several days of essential safety, security & safeguards work. Two others remain as part of a continuing presence at the site.
Director General @rafaelmgrossi will on Tuesday issue a report about the safety, security and safeguards situation in #Ukraine — including findings from his mission to the #ZNPP — and later the same day brief the @UN Security Council (#UNSC) about the mission to the plant.

Grossi @rafaelmgrossi and his team of 14 experts are back in Vienna from a risky visit to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Grossi says that he is mostly concerned about the physical integrity of the plant as well as about the power supply of the plant. #ZNPP 1/
He said that he witnessed holes and marks on the plant that are due to the shelling. He said that this situation was "unacceptable". He also expressed worry about the power supply and the impact a disruption could have on the cooling system. These are his 2 main concerns. 2/
He said that a team of 6 people is staying at the plant until Sun or Mon. Out of them, 2 IAEA experts will then remain at the plant permanently. He said that this continued presence was important to "stabilise" the situation and to ensure "impartial and neutral" information. 3/
