Anyone else notice @nytimes made a monumental mistake in their report about Samuel and Felicity Taxpayer? As it turns out (We blame Turbo Tax!), the happy couple will pay LESS in taxes (like appx. 85% of the country), due to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. NOT a $3,896 tax hike. #SMH
2. @nytimes excuse for flawed & failed analysis on impact of tax reform for Samuel and Felicity Taxpayer doesn't even make sense. You can't blame @turbotax “What-If Worksheet” for NY Times not claiming earned income credit. And they're corrected analysis is still wrong...
3. Even in @nytimes corrected "analysis," which now adds earned income credit, they STILL did not give Samuel & Felicity Taxpayer $1500.00 in credits for dependents! So, they are actually paying $1543 less in taxes due to #taxcutsforamerica, or #TCJA. Very sloppy partisan report.
4. The NY Times Samuel and Felicity Taxpayer story was so wrong, is still wrong, it requires an article response.
5. Since @nytimes refuses to update their article to correctly reflect the happy hypothetical couple's tax liability, we have done it for Samuel and Felicity Taxpayer. Don't worry guys, you saved $1543.00 as a result of the #TaxCutsandJobsAct. No increase. ppdnews.us/mgJoWRp

1. This isn't a negotiation. Nancy Pelosi is a weak speaker. She'll be the weakest we've had in a very long time, with no real bargaining power. Pelosi faces revolt if she compromises.

"Compromise" was the magic word when the GOP took over BOTH chambers. Now, not so much.
2. But back to the idea this is a negotiation. It is not and there is only one side willing to work out a compromise. Democrats told their base this wall & those who support it are racists.

Now, they have put themselves in a box. They'd rather have a broken promise a 2020 issue.

Have to be honest, the biggest lie tonight was told by Chuck Schumer. After all the hogwash. The lie was "we all support border security."

That's not true. Let's see if Glenn Kessler has the guts.
Second, if he wants to be as effective as he can be, Donald Trump should spend a lot more time in serious mode, like we saw tonight. Now to Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi...
Again, it always is very difficult to follow a president. But Schumer and Pelosi did not come across well, optically. They dismissed migrant human suffering and the deaths of Americans by calling it "manufactured."

They also appeared to concede the effectiveness of a border wall

1. If someone was elected promising "Hope and Change," but a corrupt status quo accepted him, then what hope was there for change?

None, and to think otherwise is self-delusion.

Real change comes at a cost to stability, and the status quo fights back. They don't roll over.
2. Now for the other side.

The election of one man to the presidency, a revolution does not make. If you were honest, wouldn't you admit that you are too easy on your party?

Everyone wants to blame an "other." But the corrupt status quo & its construct in D.C., are bipartisan.

Aside from their editor trashing them the other day for no longer being a news organization, if you consider them a reliable source of news, they you're a chump. An intel played, chump.

What's really special about the CityREDI Brexit Impact studies is that they don't just cover the UK but also the rest of the EU.

Unreal. Atlanta (and Georgia) still have plenty of prosperity & inequities. But what prosperity they do have is directly related to infrastructure spending and investment in public education.
Let's really break it down for right-wing Louisiana State Senators who somehow think we're going to tax cut our way to prosperity. In New Orleans, a whole lot of middle class folks feel they have to send their children to private school, and they shell out beaucoup $$ to do it.
In Atlanta and most of Georgia surrounding the metro, middle class parents send their kids to *public K-12 education.* That allows them to spend those thousands of dollars on something other than K-12 tuition.

Think that might have something to do with Atlanta's prosperity?

2/ At one time the U.S. had 20 workers for every retiree. Now it's down to 2.7 and declining. The insolvency of pensions all across the U.S will not improve as a result. The worst of all of them is California.
3/ A recent Stanford Study estimates the unfunded liability for California pensions is $1 Trillion which allocated is $93K per household in California.
