Given not many people have actual first hand experience of #Parler and now can't, let me as someone from the centre left clarify what it really is/was. It was essentially a carbon copy of Twitter. The difference being there was no censorship unless what was being said

The recent attacks in the capitol fall well short of a coup, though people are right to take them seriously, but not right to blow them out of proportion. However, a real threat would be a follow up attempt, better supported, better organised and if actually backed by Trump.
Even if that happened, there's no support in the halls of power for it, and the military would, perhaps after containing a few pockets of sympathisers in its ranks swiftly end it. Still there would be a risk of such events causing runaway polarisation, eventually even civil war.

because large amounts couldn't be made at short notice as these are high tech products and need high tech factories (lead time for a new factory is two years). Despite these warnings governments and health providers mostly ignored the advice, and now a pandemic has arrived 2/9
