1/ It ain’t over folks — There were some countries in Europe who had big problems with #Covid early on. Spain, Italy, and Germany were all able to act quickly and get the COVID19 pandemic under control, at least for now. Compare their graphs to that of the USA in the lower right.

2/ We were slower to enact measures and our measures were less effective. The pandemic still rages and is actually still growing in quite a few states, even as some of these states ease restrictions intended to save lives.

The Citizen’s United ruling allowed the monster to vote. I’m not talking some organized conspiracy, but the way our complex capitalist system behaves.

Sure there are some lighter moments, but the bulk of the piece is a systematic presentation of proof of institutionalized racism in the USA, especially in policing. 2/ He does a great job of challenging the absurd notion that police departments contain “just a few bad apples” who are making a good policing system look bad. The country is in real trouble just now.

When loved ones are removed from your home by ambulance because the virus has hit them hard, you are not going to be able to follow them there, sit by their hospital bed and hold their hand.
