I’m excited about moving Project Connect forward with both an initial and smaller overall impact to Austin property taxpayers. It’s the right decision to lower taxpayer cost while still pursuing the entire #ProjectConnect rapid transit system. 1/5 At the 8.5 cents level, we will leverage future matching funds from federal, state, regional, and private sources. Combined with @CapMetroATX's ongoing financial commitment, this will still enable our community to build, operate, and maintain the entire proposed system. 2/5

#Covid19 update July 7, 2020. We remain in Stage 4, though we’re very close to stage 5. The latest 7-day average of new hospitalizations is about 75. #COVID19 update: We now have 1,379 cases in #Austin, up 65 from yesterday. Unfortunately, we have now lost a total of 32 lives to this virus, up one from yesterday (1/10) There are 70 people hospitalized, with 30 in the ICU & 13 on ventilators fighting to get better. Speaking of which, I’m happy to report 378 people have recovered from #COVID19 (2/10)

#COVID19 update as of 6:00 pm: #Austin now has 744 confirmed cases, up 54 from yesterday. We remain at 9 deaths & have had 133 people recover. We are starting to see an increase in cases in the 40-59 age range, & while cases are rising, they’ve been at a steady rate (1/7) Image Yesterday, @austintexasgov used the Warn Central TX notification system to remind people to stay indoors. #Covid19 update as of 3/20/20: There are currently 58 positive test results in Austin. @AustinTexasGov & @TravisCountyTx continue to work closely w/ officials locally & across the country as we monitor this quickly changing situation @AustinTexasGov and @TravisCountyTx issued new orders moments ago that align with State restrictions, stressing staying at home is safest.
