We use gender as a lens to understand power/privilege/violence/oppression, so as to better identify it, confront it, prevent it, and heal from it.🎙🎧 #FBR

@mega2e I’m a fan of #SheSaid but very disappointed in this piece. #survivors of #domesticabuse#coercivecontrol feared and accurately PREDICTED their #abusers would weaponize the virus as they do any situation or manufacture one, to interfere with the mother-child relationship. /1@mega2e But your article did nothing 2 differentiate between abusers who are weaponizing the virus against #protectivemothers and parents who are legitimately worried about neglectful parenting & failure to properly social distance. There was no mention of histories of abuse in cases. /2

1/Had an awful #toxicmasculinity@lyft experience that exemplified why culture matters so much when building a business and customer loyalty. Driver picked me up and then two other passengers for shared ride. I inquired the order of stops and mine was next destination.
2/Found out destination of other passengers and informed @lyft driver that his route was going in opposite direction of both passenger stops. Asked if he could reroute back to main road which would have been a 7 minute drive direct line on one road to my stop.

@reveal@TreyBundy@TreyBundy 1/disappointed in the repeated use of cases where mother is abusive. My interview w/Joan goes into greater detail of the ways in which usually male abusers use PAS as a defense against legitimate claims of DV, child abuse child sexual abuse. bit.ly/2SYai43@reveal@TreyBundy@TreyBundy 2/ High conflict is not the same as abuse which is power and control. Former is about power struggle and latter is about domination and subjugation. The conflation of these two reinforces myth of victim as being partly or equally responsible! See my episodes in DV.
