I've finally been able to play with the new Outlook beta on Windows (the “Outlook One” moving away from Word). And it’s… WONDERFUL. Quick thread. 👇 #emailgeeks
First, it took me forever to find how to switch to the Beta update channel. While it's a simple dropdown option on macOS, on Windows it’s… complicated. Ended up doing it via the command line because that was the easiest way (following this article: urtech.ca/2021/07/solved…).
Also note that if you want to try it now, you need at least a Microsoft 365 Business Standard account. Support for other types of email accounts is “coming soon”, according to the account settings window. Screenshot, in french, from...

5 tips for a great email UX. A thread for all the #emailgeeks out there 🧵
1)Ensure that your email has a readable layout that follows a visual hierarchy with bold headlines, images, and CTAs. Typically, an average person spends 10 seconds reading an email. So, a good layout ensures that your message is delivered even though the user just skims through.
2) Good CTAs bring your emails to a logical conclusion and clearly direct the readers towards the desired action. At @Mailmodo, we recommend CTAs that are short, actionable, and interactive. Ensure that your CTAs deliver what you promised in the email copy and offer value.

If the #emailgeeks had to declare a buzzword for the entire fraternity in 2021, it would be AMP emails. Naturally, the State of Emails 2022 would be incomplete without a discussion on this topic.

So, we quizzed our respondents about AMP in our survey, and here's what we learned
1) Only 24.8% of the surveyors sent AMP emails in 2021 while 75.2% of people didn't explore this functionality at all.
2) 47% of email marketers are still not aware of the potential of AMP emails close followed by those who do not have the coding expertise. (Memo: Mailmodo lets you create and send AMP emails without any coding)

First time you open the mail app you are given this pop up. Learn more links to the second image. (Screenshot from iPad)

It’s been about 12 hours since @Apple announced Mail Privacy Protection and this looks like this might be a watershed moment for #emailmarketing. Besides just opens, there are several additional consequences … see thread… and add your own!
@Apple suggests they will preload all images on emails when marketing emails are sent – not opened. It’s day 1, so more testing is needed to confirm.
This is not some buried setting and is on by default, ~100% of iOS users will switch to this (based on the adoption rate for those who opted out of app tracking in iOS 14)

#EmailGeeks: 4 things you should be doing now to get ready for iOS 15:

1) Start testing creative. Understand what is most compelling to your audience to maximize engagement using metrics that can be segmented upon in the future. Recent openers will no longer be an option. 1/4
2) Start tracking click/delivered rate. You'll want to get a good set of baseline metrics today that can be used for performance tracking once opens are a thing of the past. 2/4
3) Get your deliverability in order. Be diligent about lead quality, list hygiene, and sender reputation. Low opens were the canary in the deliverability coal mine and even paid deliverability monitoring platforms rely heavily on open data. 3/4
