Gaia Gear has a weird relationship with Zeta Gundam. It shares some eerie similarities:

* Main characters belong to an organization that is anti-Earth Federation government
* Enemy organization is radical one within the Federation government

#Gundam #ガンダム #gaiagear
* Said enemy org eventually takes over Federation Forces
* Main mecha transforms, can enter the atmosphere on its own
* Post-transformation is in the form of an aircraft
* Beam saber is stored in its thigh and can be used as a beam gun after transformation
* Symbolic for the organization
* Built-in equipment for Newtypes (psycommu/biosensor)
* Names have Greek letters (Zeta and Alpha)
* Main character leaves the org with a childhood friend in the end
* Preview before serialization was Mobile Suit Gaia Gear Char's Counterattack

Fun fact: @ichirou_o, the head writer of Witch from Mercury, got his start in the industry as a writer. In the late 90s he penned multiple Martian Successor Nadesico, Utena, and 08th MS Team novels. The latter got him the attention of Sunrise execs—and by extension, Tomino. ImageImageImageImage
Ōkouchi was brought to help script Turn A #Gundam (1999-2000). He worked closely with Tomino, writing a total of 4 episodes. In fact, they worked so well together that Tomino chose Ōkouchi to oversee his next show, Overman King Gainer (2002-03), as lead writer. ImageImage
However, Ōkouchi's claim to fame inarguably remains #CodeGeass. He wrote the majority of the first season, all of R2, and the recent film, Lelouch of the Re;surrection. Many fans (including ourselves) have drawn connections between Ashford Academy and Asticassia, for example. Image

Progress. Torso’s a little tight, so have to figure that out. Probably need to use some putty to fill in a few voids. But pleasantly surprised that the rear vernier has some articulation. #gunpla #plamo #ガンプラ #プラモ ImageImage

It's interesting how the staff at Newtype started making stuff up when it came to Gaia Gear (which they say was super popular at the time), including the little diddy about it being "100 years after Gundam." Tomino would go on to dispel that claim...

...saying that there was no mention of such things in his writings. NT staff initially pegged it as taking place in the U.C.0180s, but interestingly enough, they included a timeline snippet in their own magazine in '93 as part of their "We Want Next Gundam" article.
U.C.0191: EFF expands Manhunting Forces (MHA) organization.
U.C.0196: Gaia Gear Alpha rolls out
U.C.0197: Afranche Char is welcomed as leader of the Metatron Agency.
*ponders this* Novel continuity and drama continuity? Image

Mmkay, for those wondering about that insane reveal at the end of RUST HORIZON, here's what transpired as a sample for y'all (just a crude parsing of it, not taking this on, that's all).

Today, April 7, marks an epoch-making moment in pop cultural history: the debut of Mobile Suit Gundam. It wasn’t the first anime to find an older audience, but it was the first anime to trigger a full-fledged societal phenomenon. (1/9)
Gundam didn’t do well at first. In fact it was a ratings disaster. Written for teens, it was marketed towards kids, as nearly all anime was at the time. The sponsor, a toy company named Clover, pulled the plug as piles of its silly-looking merchandise sat on shelves. BUT! (2/9)
Older fans, teens and young adults, weren’t ready to give up. They poured out their souls in impassioned missives to what was then the best method of connecting to other fans: the pages of anime magazines like Animec, The Anime, and OUT. (3/9)

I´ll say it also in English :)
I´m gonna try a photography 365 project, but instead of taking photos, processing old random photos of mine...
Only one rule: the square format.
Let´s see what I got, which will be directly affected by the mood of the day...
