2/11 Know the why

Know the “why” is half the battle.
3/11 Contracts in your code

Think of it as a contract.

5 Chrome plugins I use often when testing web applications

Thread 🧵👇

#sdet #programming #DEVCommunity #SoftwareTesting
Fake filler: form filler that fills all inputs on a page with fake / dummy data

This a great plugin if you work with input fields a lot. I use this to automatically fill all the input fields with random data with just a single click.
JSONView - format JSON document

As Dev/QA, you are constantly working with JSON data which you need to view/validate. This plugin formats the data automatically in new tab when you access any API with JSON response

It all started in Aug 2020.

How about summarizing a book in 40 minutes using a mindmap and spending the next 20 minutes discussing the book and the session?

Here is the 🧵highlighting what I liked from each book

#bookreading @ClubHbr
First book was "Who Moved My Cheese?" @MovedMyCheese by Spencer Johnson.

Key lesson: Change is constant. Be prepared.
#bookreading @ClubHbr
Second book: "Exploring Requirements: Quality Before Design" by @JerryWeinberg and Donald C Gause

Key lesson: You don't always need a product to find a bug. You can find bugs in the requirements too.

The Observatron v0.9 now allows you to add simple text commentary as you test using a keyboard shortcut, this is logged as a json file with an optional screenshot e.g. "! menu should not look like that" would save it as a 'bug' note… #SoftwareTesting

My answer to Why do you need to use Visual UI regression testing?…
Code related Regression Testing practices can’t be implemented in the same way in Visual UI. The reason being Visual UI are tested through behavioral #Usability Testing methods Qualitatively and Quantitatively. They should not be tested through Opinionated Approach.
There is no absolute way to decide proximity of a UI Element through opinion, on adding a new feature. Qualitative and Quantitative Usability Testing is relative and not absolute. Heuristic Evaluation (thumb rule approach to evaluate a UI by an Expert) is Opinionated
