Whilst playing around with glass morphism, I designed a translucent card and icons. KCB might never reply but I would love to hear your thoughts on this redesign🤔 Image
On that note, it would be fun to see a fingerprint scanner and dark mode integrated into the app.📲😍 Image

What % of #EHR text is directly duplicated from a prior note?

100+ mil notes

Duplicated text ⬆️ from 33% in 2015 to 54% in 2020

Blocking copy forward is not the answer. We must reimagine #documentation

Also - we (the authors) paid out of pocket to publish this piece on @JAMANetworkOpen so that it would not be behind a paywall. We need more resources (aka funds!) for open academic research 🙏🏽
Documentation burden directly impacts #burnout for clinicians as well and it does so disproportionately between disciplines & gender

@evebmd and I talked about this with @DIVURGENT @ShaneDanaher & @trentrosenbloom @techguy

The MB #EQS with its #Hyperscreen has really decent info distribution & #IA, but the touch targets are too small and the capacitive steering wheel buttons require lots of visual, manual, and cognitive load to operate! #humanfactors #UX #IxD
The charging #UI is also very well-designed, but again... input could be better. There are better ways to input time.
And reachability sucks, which doesn't come as a surprise. BMW seems to have tried to mitigate similar reachability issues by shifting menus left toward the driver (basically pogosticking), but that inhibits overview and adds cog load instead.

The rewards of investing in #UX - A thread

If your business has a digital product - website or app - and you still haven’t invested in UX, you are missing out on a lot of opportunities.

Read on to find out why investing in UX has a high ROI for your business.
1. Reduce cost down the line

With any new digital product, ⅓ of bugs identified are actual problems; most others are simply usability issues.

These issues can be avoided by relying on #UX tools like #prototyping and #usability testing.
2. Increase conversions

Humans are impatient.

Those complex websites with intricate structures are actually driving your users away.

Designing a simple website/app with an easy-to-navigate IA and
site structure can actually enhance #userexperience and increase conversions.

For the #Zelda35th, I have a little story to tell.

It was 1991, and A Link to the Past was still in development in Japan. I was 15 years old, having just moved to Redmond, WA. I was a massive Nintendo fan, having played their games since 1983 when Donkey Kong was in arcades. 1/
After arriving in Redmond in 1990, I started writing a bunch of fan-mail to Nintendo of America's HQ, asking for crazy stuff, like the stats of NES Mega Man & Final Fantasy characters, to translate them into D&D characters. I never got a response, but I got a letter later... 2/
The letter was from a small User Research team, who'd bring in a bunch of kids to try out NES and GameBoy titles before they arrived on store shelves.
In a room with 20-something other kids, I'd share my thoughts. I guess they liked my feedback, because they called me back. 3/

We produce an isoform atlas and identify isoform markers for classes, subclasses and clusters of cells across all layers of the primary motor cortex. 2/15 ImageImage
Isoform-level results are facilitated by kallisto isoform-level quantification of the SMART-seq data. We show that such EM-based isoform quantification is essential not just for isoform but for gene-level results. #methodsmatter 3/15 Image

In the year 1990, India successfully transition from a close to an open economy. My earlier generation, the generation in control of finance & economy now, is master in securing foreign funding. Our nationwide trade ideology, regulations, culture, outlook and trade practices are
moulded to secure foreign funding and serving foreign countries. We fail to evaluate that over the years our standard of living have been leveled up with developed country. Further, US have declared India a developed nation. We now need indigenous production and self suffice

"Abundance" in Design Thinking & Strategy adds a new dimension to UX. Design Thinking has Divergent & Convergent sequences. Including "#Abundance" in the scenario would help to explore a new dimension altogether. Here follow two examples.
A medical device has an alarm. The alarm
beeps in 3 levels of priority. The frequency of the number of beeps increases with the priority of the alarm. Assume it works fine & passes all usability tests with one device. Now Include "Abundance" and think of 20 devices kept in a dormitory room. The difficulty of attention
& call to action multiply in combination.
An email application to read and view the list of emails. Deleting a few 100 emails is fine. Include "Abundance" and think of Deleting a few million emails.
"Abundance" can also be included for processes. Suppose a process is designed

Great discussion of reasons why the trolley problem is not the right discussion for #AI #ethics

"If we want to make ethical AI, we should be... training self-driving cars to work in ways that we, as a society, can approve of and endorse."

Decisions for what an #AI system will do are determined long before they are in use.
If the people making the AI aren't ethical, how can we expect the system to be?
Ethical, diverse teams are need to develop ethical, safe AI systems.
Excited to talk about this topic, self-driving and AI ethics at #WorldUsabilityCongress in a few weeks in Austria!

What is Situational Usability Testing? The Usability Testing carried out under different situations. Under Stressful conditions, our mind and body react differently. Fingers turn sweaty. Touch screen can't recognise sweaty, dirty, food granule sticking to finger touches.
Take
another example of booking Uber Taxi. The Situation influences our Behaviour that influences our Actions. Visualize these three situations while booking Uber Taxi. It is raining heavily, the person is half drenched and he is trying to book the taxi. An employee is engaging in a
sales conversation with his clients standing near the lift trying to book Uber at the same time to take them for a site visit. A person booking Uber from the comfort of his home sitting on his bed.
Let's take an example from Healthcare. Product Features can be

I have stopped providing Wireframes to my clients. This has a shift in the focus and expectations of clients from a #UX Principal Consultant. Now they take a keen interest in Ecosystem Diagrams, Lumascapes, Unmoderated Observational Study, User Journey, improving Operations
before suggesting products to achieve an objective, Macro Economy Behaviour, Individual's Personality, Socio-Political and Demographic Constraints. I learned this by following mature ecosystems like the transaction between Doctor Consultants and Testing Labs.
Similarly, the transaction between Lawyer Consultants and Para Legal Team. So, now I pass all the documentation to the UI designer and achieve the design iteratively, progressing over Kanban or Scrum Agile Framework. Anyway, these days Design Systems have made it easy to follow

I believe usability testing coupled with simulation is a great way to support QI initiatives. The data provides real time end-user feedback followed by an understanding of the decision making that led to certain actions.

Lean Usability Testing Hiring. Usability Testing Landscape is growing with newer and sophisticated tests included over time. One Specialist may not be equipped with the knowledge of all the types of Usability Tests. So Job Portals need to device a way
to separate Specialist by their vocational expertise. This approach will directly impact the relationship between Client and Service provider. It will streamline Investment and make the UX process Lean.

Any #Edutech Company want to develop the following idea? (#LMS #coaching #startup). The goal is to develop a Culture of Collaboration by implementing Focus Group activity driven #Learning over #Orator based traditional #teaching approach. This is also to discourage
the orator based #DesignThinking #Workshops and make it more participatory. The idea is that, one person will use the #app over screen sharing & others will take down behavioral notes. But unfortunately people forget to take notes & stare at the screen following the user. So I
think a timer is required that fades out the screen if anyone is idle beyond 10 sec. Also everyone should write in the same chat window but later should be able to segregate chats by name to view each other's perspective. #investor #usability #ux #product
