In #Kashmir, the importance of structured #Education increases manifolds due to the dynamic nature of this region. Lack of education has a severe cascading effect here, eventually leading the gullible young people towards unlawful activities.

#Pandemic has restricted movement all over. With every public institution closed including schools and colleges, the Govt of #Jammu and #Kashmir have introduced initiatives to help students continue their studies, even in such uncertain times.

#Online classes were introduced as a way of allowing the students to attend the curriculum with the help of their teachers. To ensure not one student’s academic year goes to waste, online and offline exams were conducted following the laid down guidelines for #COVID19.

Admittedly, students of 10th and 12th in #Kashmir need more help for their board exams. In a welcoming step, the state cancelled the exams for both these stds this year, rather relying on a cumulative result to promote the students.

For the students living in remote areas and unable to access the #online classes , the govt introduced #Radio Classes for std 5 – 8 from All India Radio #Srinagar in #Kashmir, from 26th May 2021.

In #Kashmir, for students affected by the death of their parents or only bread earner, Lt Governor #ManojSinha has launched a special scheme for financial assistance of such students.

The Scheme provides #scholarship of Rs. 20,000 per annum for school going students and Rs. 40,000 for those in college. This scheme will certainly lend the much need relief to the distressed families of #Kashmir.

Taking cognizance of the matter, the office of LG #ManojSinha directed the Department of School Education to reduce the duration and workload assigned to various classes.

Under the #Indian Constitution, citizens of this #Free nation have a #RightToEducation. For #Kashmir, it is important that the youth here are educated, so that they make wise and conscious choices. This will ensure a #terror free valley and will help build a thriving #Kashmir.
