This is true of city, county, state, etc. unions. When will everyone understand that FEDERAL employees unions have no power. They negotiate the color of the office walls, and add a flimsy layer of protection against personnel actions. That's it.
Membership in federal employee unions is voluntary. But union reps end up representing non-members. Guess what? Most people don't join the unions but are happy to call them for help when they want to gripe.
That's not to say the unions can't be annoying, but 'mild annoyance' is about all it is. This all-powerful monolithic vision of public unions is simply not true for the feds. Reagan broke the ATC union, and that was the end of it.
