Adults gotta adult, or there's just not going to *be* adults anymore.

The intelligence community actually knows this. Rex Tillerson commented, he sure knows this. Adults *know*.

You are what you do. You are what you don't do. We are all what we're all doing, or not.

And if you think adulting is *just* doing the scary thing, like, that's how you know it's a good idea, you're afraid to do it.

No.

Sometimes a thing is scary because it's a really bad idea.

Respect your fears. Face them. Choose them. Conquer the *right* ones.

Or be stupid.

We don't teach this well, people don't know this well, I'm gonna suggest that might not be a coincidence, or a remotely isolated case.

But heh, math scores are up.

None of these tweets are a good idea, according to metrics I no longer care about.

Because, uh, we got problems. Real, adult, problems.

Doesn't matter who you are. Doesn't even matter how old you are. There's a fire. We all can tell.

Please be patient as I figure out how the hell to not just tweet. Don't imagine I think it's enough. I KNOW. And if I was still just doing this, a year from now, well, you'd know I was just tweeting because this is fun and safe.

What changed? I always thought "Oh, somebody's gonna take care of that. We got experts, we got systems, this is all just abstract poppycock fighting. Kabuki!"

Well, baby prisons ain't kabuki. And not being able to stop baby prisons, is the test they failed. Shit.

Adults can't fail the baby prison test. John Kelly is a pretty adult-seeming person. He wanted some deterrence. Something didn't tell him, you don't deter by breaking babies.

So, we have an adulting problem.

He seems very adult. Not enough. I kinda feel for the guy.

Or maybe something did tell him, and he saw what else was going to happen without him.

Systems are horrifyingly powerful. The horrifying truth is some people become terrible because it's the only way to survive.

Hate is manufactured.

People makes systems. Systems make people.

We need working systems.

We need adult people.

They manufacture each other. The loop has to start somewhere. And systems aren't conscious.
