AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR is, in my opinion, half a movie. But pretty good. ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
Maximum serialized TV effect. I sort of think much of it would be impenetrable without having seen the others.
Easily the strongest suit was the new combinations of familiar characters creating new dynamics.

Yes. But also it’s an uninteresting distinction. Some sequels tell one story across multiple movies. Some don’t. The MCU (which I like) leans very hard into the former, with this movie (which I liked) the most notable example. Is my point.
Another thought: Thanos’s psychotic but internally consistent ideal of salvation through mass extermination seems so tailored to draw “Actually, Thanos was right” conservative think pieces, it’s practically trolling. Zero surprise if they’re already written.

I think the Tony Stark/Peter Park dynamic (not existent in the pre MCU era) makes a lot of sense for the movies, and allows really cool character beats. I like it!

Peter Parker is a brilliant young kid, and a big part of his character is that he designed his own tech.
Having him receive a suit with increasingly (admittedly badass) Stark gadgets reduces him to Trust-Fund Iron Man and as badass as those suits are I don’t like that.

Anyway MCU nails almost everything else about Spidey perfectly so when something’s off it really stands out.
Yes. But then it occurs to me that Tony is really in the Osborn role. And THEN I think what an absolutely terrifying Green Goblin Tony Stark would make.
