The President of the United States has spent his entire public life, which is now in its 5th decade, habitually and repeatedly making provably untrue statements.

That fact is so important that it should accompany any mention of him in news media.
Yes, all or at least most other politicians have lied. I don't think we've ever had a president whose entire public life has been defined not just by specific lies, but by lying.

Lying as strategy.

Lying as lifestyle.

Lying for the sake of lying.

It's relevant.
There should be no mention of his name without the accompanying context.

"Donald Trump (who has told proveable untruths his entire life, and repeats them after they're proved false), addressed the nation today."

Absent the parenthetical, the whole story isn't told.
It's not a single infraction, or a couple.

It's not tying a single lie to him in some sort of vindictive or punitive way.

It's endemic to his character. It's a defining feature. It's THE defining feature.

The things he says are more likely to be untrue than true. Observably.
There would be accusations of bias.

But it's not bias. It's simply an important but damaging truth, which, due to his position, happens to be relevant to any story about him.

But if the truth damages this president, the report of it is taken as bias.

Which tells us something.
When other world leaders deal with him, the fact that he fundamentally lies and can't be trusted is obviously going to be a huge factor in how they deal with him.

So any story about him that deals with foreign relations needs to feature the FACT that he cannot be trusted.
When Democratic party leaders deal with him, the fact that he fundamentally lies and can't be trusted is obviously going to be a huge factor in how they deal with him.

So any story about him that deals with bipartisan negotiation must feature the FACT that he cannot be trusted.
When Republican party leaders deal with him, the fact that he fundamentally lies and can't be trusted is obviously going to be a huge factor in how they deal with him.

So any story about him that deals with Republican policy must feature the FACT that he cannot be trusted.
When *his own lawyers* deal with him, the fact that he fundamentally lies and can't be trusted is a huge factor in how they deal with him. This is documented.

So any story about him that deals with investigations or legal trouble must feature the FACT that he cannot be trusted.
When his own staff deals with him, we know the fact that he fundamentally lies and can't be trusted is a huge factor in how they deal with him.

So any story about him that deals with White House statements or policy must feature the FACT that he cannot be trusted.
When he lies, and the lie is proved, and published, and even when the effects of the lie harm his supporters, he loses no support from them.

So any story about him that deals with Republican voters should feature the FACT that they are observably unconcerned with truth.
How is it bias, when it is observable?

If it's not observable, why can we see it?

If we can see it, how is it now where we are now—right now?

If it's where we are, how is it not news? How is it not THE news?

It's mandatory to stop pretending. We have to demand it.
Imagine, suddenly, and everywhere, it rained potatoes. Nothing but. No more water. Just potatoes.

Imagine the news would only report about potatoes on the ground, and the effects, but wouldn't commit to saying the potatoes came from the sky, even though everybody could see it.
They'd count the potatoes. They'd tell you 6 million potatoes fell last month.

Also, all our windows are smashed. We're not sure why.

Also, we're running out of drinking water. Some say it's tied to the fact it only rains potatoes. Others aren't sure.
There's civil unrest everywhere due to trillions of dollars of property damage. The cause is unknown.

Next up: another 70 million potatoes landed on the Eastern seaboard last night.
40 million potatoes slammed into the Gulf of Mexico shoreline on Monday, 500 are dead. Cause unknown.

Also, in Chicago, a woman threw a potato at her Senator's car as it passed for not addressing the potato rains.

OPINION: Here's why that lady is as bad as the potato rains.
Eventually, the news becomes that the News isn't telling the news.

Our culture of lies are a potato rain, and Trump is its rain king.

We have to insist on facts.

It's a matter of survival.
