Good morning, I just want to talk about houses in Lagos for a minute. Who builds them? Who designs them? And why are they so expensive for nothing?
House rent 2 Million per annum for one miserable looking 3 bedroom flat yet service charge is 900k which does not include electricity. Are you okay?
You will find a house with wide corridor, wide staircase, massive compound but the kitchen go be like toilet, so tiny, so poorly put together.
Let's even talk about the designs and the rubbish tiles they put together. Bright lemon cupboards set again blue flowery tiles. Please no. Colour block floor tiles and teal wall paint. What's this mess?
We are in hot Nigeria, it has not still dawned that Windows should be bigger and there should be cross ventilation. You go see house with big living space and one miserable window.
The poor finishing when the house is presented is story for another day. Paint on doors, paint on tiles, misaligned tiles and un-centered lighting. No symmetry whatsoever.
I found a big 5 bed duplex, 3.5 million per annum 😂, I asked where's the dinning? They said under the staircase... You guys, there was no dinning,you'd bump your head under the staircase. How can you forget to include a dining space and you want 3.5m 😭😭
I've been doing a lot of house touring lately and it is really making my head do gbim gbim gbim because I don't get.
I saw this really poorly constructed house, so bad & the agent said madam people are begging for this house for 3m. The house beside it was better maybe worth 1.7 m but was let for 3m so every landlord on that street insisted they must let for 3m. Property value is a myth.
I still insist that it is wickedness that would make a landlord demand 2 years rent upfront payment plus 20% agency fee, 900k service charge, 20% legal fee, 20% caution fee. This is madness.
Another agent told me that his ideal customer na Yahoo Yahoo boys because den no dey argue. If you tell them the house is 5m they will drop cash and they are a major reason the price of properties increase in an area. Welp! O ti su mi
Please the government has to come in. There are so many young folks/families looking for housing and yet so many empty houses because the majority of the population cannot afford these outrageous prices. We need a regulatory body please because it has gotten out of hand.
