There’s a major, fundamental ignorance about all this talk of #TrumpTreason:

Elected officials are meant to represent the body of the people, to whom they’re meant to be accountable.

The intel community is *not* accountable to us. They’re accountable to the Executive (Trump)
1/
There is no reason whatsoever that elected officials should be loyal to the intel community. That’s backward. And *anybody* saying they don’t support the intel community is not “treasonous.”

Nor is saying you believe another world leader is correct over our own IC.
2/
The IC does not represent the people. The IC does not work for the people. The IC does not answer to the people. The IC is not accountable to the people.

It’s actually easier to make a coherent, logical argument that elected officials being loyal to the IC is treasonous.
3/
Because it’s the elected officials - the president, and the House and Senate Intel Committees - who are meant to *check* the power of the IC on our behalf. That’s their job. And this representative, civilian oversight it’s the only way to justify the IC’s existence.
4/
But they have been derelict in their duties. The CIA literally hacked into the Senate Intel Committee’s computers only 4 years ago.

Who went to jail for that incredibly illegal act? Anybody?

No. The Intel Committee just wagged their fingers for show.

5/
Because, even though those committees exist to check the IC’s power, the people on those committees are out there only after receiving a green light from the IC and its big-money contractors.

They don’t hold the IC in check. They don’t even *try*.
6/
Anybody cheering for the IC to take down any duly elected official is actually cheering for a coup d’etat. They’re supporting the open nullification of election results (meaning the actual vote tally) that absolutely nobody has any reason to believe are not legitimate.
7/
Think about that. If you’re cheering for the CIA and pledging your fealty to them, what you’re saying is:

“Whenever the people of this country choose the ‘wrong’ leader, we should trust unelected, unaccountable, secret agencies to remove that person & install somebody else.”
8/
At that point, once we allow these secret agencies to determine who will lead this country, this Grand American Experiment is over. Overnight.

All this talk about Trump being a fascist? The scenario above, that’s fascism. Plain as day. Totalitarianism and fascism.
9/
I honestly thought we were smarter than this. I truly believed that, especially with the Internet, we’d be able to see through the lies and deceits.

But I can see now that I was wrong. Liberals are not smarter than conservatives. They’re just as easily led, if not more so.
10/
The *only* way to achieve a free and equal society is to be willing to defend the rights of our enemies.

Don’t like Trump? Me neither. So find someone who has broader appeal and defeat him in 2020.

11/
The answer is not to get in line behind the CIA/FBI/NSA. The only time they are “the good guys” is when it’s in their own best interest to do what we consider good.

They don’t care about any of us. At all.

If we don’t snap out of this, it’s all over.

Full stop.
