/ Finally took the time to switch from aText to Alfred as a text expander. @alfredapp does a lot of things, and I wanted to centralize on one tool
/ Snippets section of Alfred allows you to create collections, each with different criteria for what text to replace and when. When you type the keyword, it replaces it with text you specify
/ I use 4 main groups: Contacts contains contact info for me and team; Forte Labs is all company-related info like social media handles; General is current date, paste in plain text; Things is action verbs for writing out tasks (as shown)
/ I can also export these collections and share with team, so they can benefit from this effort. It's not just about efficiency or saving time. It can help standardize communications, reduce errors, improve standard procedures, streamline admin tasks, etc.
/ I didn't realize how much I depended on this until I bought a new computer this week. It is absolutely bonkers to be typing your email address or phone number or website or anything you do more than once a week
/ Here's more info on Alfred's snippets feature: alfredapp.com/help/features/…

Combining workflows with snippets allows you to automate more complex actions (for ex, adding "Good morning!" or "Good afternoon!" after a date depending on time of day): alfredapp.com/help/workflows…
/ You can even download pre-made collections of commonly used keywords: alfredapp.com/extras/snippet…

Alfred is free with limited features, but using snippers requires their paid upgrade: alfredapp.com/powerpack/
/ To make this even nerdier, here's the text snippets I use for action verbs, in the form of a compressed URL: itty.bitty.site/#Text_snippets…
