So I'm back from a punishing drive back to Texas. Upsides: Got to see family, have decent BBQ again, have decent Tex-Mex again, have decent pizza again, and have @JackBox and @Whataburger again. I have thoughts.
First, it's not fun counting all of these kids constantly to make sure they're all there.
Second, if you honestly think @innoutburger is better than @JackBox or even @Whataburger, having had all three on this trip, you need medical attention.
Third, you always forget how many insects are gonna get plastered on your windshield driving through Louisiana until it's happening in real time.
Fourth, I miss Texas so damned much.
Fifth, I got to watch Fox News & CNN in the morning while my children were making mockeries of the hotel "all you can eat" buffets ("Dad, if it's all you can eat, why don't they have enough food for us?"). Fox News really is Trump agitprop. CNN really is barking leftwing seals.
Sixth, I forgot how much I hate the Mixmaster. I've rediscovered how much I hate the Mixmaster.
Seventh: Yo, @googlemaps, there are these things, they're called service or frontage roads, they run alongside highways, please teach your application how to distinguish them from the highways. Thanks.
Eighth: My leave of absence ran through yesterday. I have nothing on my calendar for Monday. I'm sleeping a lot until then.
Ninth: We are far enough past the last kid that I'm re-discovering how we ended up with the last one and I may have to have an industrial accident to prevent the next one.
