Syllogism:

Republicans want to turn health care and social security over to private industry

Private industry is driven by profit

High life expectancies cut into health care and social security profits

Republicans want to create profit incentives to lower life expectancy
The problem with Republican harping on “death panels” wasn’t that death panels wouldn’t be terrible.

It’s that they were lying about there being death panels, because they wanted to kill the ACA.

We should wonder why they did that.
I think it’s worth noting out that a political movement that prioritizes privitization of health care and retirement logically can’t have “longer and healthier lives for our citizens” as a goal.

The President of the United States has spent his entire public life, which is now in its 5th decade, habitually and repeatedly making provably untrue statements.

That fact is so important that it should accompany any mention of him in news media.
Yes, all or at least most other politicians have lied. I don't think we've ever had a president whose entire public life has been defined not just by specific lies, but by lying.

Lying as strategy.

Lying as lifestyle.

Lying for the sake of lying.

It's relevant.
There should be no mention of his name without the accompanying context.

"Donald Trump (who has told proveable untruths his entire life, and repeats them after they're proved false), addressed the nation today."

Absent the parenthetical, the whole story isn't told.

Over the last 30 years, I've watched America shift back and forth between GOP and Democrat control.
I've noticed one glaring thing:
Republicans rarely roll back anything Democrats do.
It's a constant cycle of Democrat accelerating us leftward, followed by Republicans just coasting.
No brakes.
No turning around.
Just coasting.
Which makes me wonder why we should bother voting GOP.
Why bother voting at all?

You must sell something. Specifically, a product or a service. Something people want and are willing to buy at a price they're willing to pay. A blog, YouTube channel, etc. won't cut it. You need an offer.
You need people people to buy your offer, and a way to drive those people to your offer (i.e. a source of traffic). An organic social media following, SEO, paid traffic (FB ads, AdWords, etc.) are common examples.

It's easy to look at this and just say Trump is a liar. But Republicans constantly lie about health care, and it's because their actual ideas are hideously unpopular. vox.com/2018/10/10/179…
The public wants more generous care at a subsidized cost. Republicans want higher-deductible, stingier care where consumers pay more of the cost and there's less subsidization from the rich to the poor, the healthy to the sick, the young to the old.
This is a coherent policy, even if I think it's cruel and wrong. But as a political matter, it will destroy your political party, and so Republicans do everything they can t achieve it while pretending they're trying to do the literal opposite.

We have a huge credibility problem in information security and it's time we addressed it. We #infosec experts spend too much time asking "How do we get users to care more about security?" - and not enough time asking "How do we get security to care more about users?"
We give security advice without considering the impact to users in terms of cost, time, complexity, and risk of harm. A perfect example is "Turn on #2FA everywhere". It's #2factortuesday, right? I'm a fan. We spend endless hours debating whether SMS-based 2FA should ever be used.
Meanwhile we've spent ZERO time educating users on the risks of harm with #2FA. Namely, the risk that they could lose access to their account. The recovery procedures for 2FA-protected accounts are nearly impossible for average users. How honest are we about this with users?
