Want to start an online business, but don't know where to start?

Then listen here and listen close.

Because about a year ago I "figured it out."

And in this thread, I'm gonna tell you 90% of everything you need to know to start your own profitable online business.

👇👇
You must sell something. Specifically, a product or a service. Something people want and are willing to buy at a price they're willing to pay. A blog, YouTube channel, etc. won't cut it. You need an offer.
You need people people to buy your offer, and a way to drive those people to your offer (i.e. a source of traffic). An organic social media following, SEO, paid traffic (FB ads, AdWords, etc.) are common examples.
The foundation of online business is traffic + an offer. Targeted people that you're able to give the opportunity to buy your product/service.
You need a specific market of people to sell your offer to. People with similar interests, wants, needs, desires, fears, problems, pain points, etc. (i.e. a niche).
You need to know everything there is to know about your niche. This requires research. Read forums, social media posts, product reviews, YouTube comments — anything where people are telling you about themselves and what they want, need, desire, fear, etc.
You figure out what to sell (your offer) based on your research. Based on what people have bought in the past, what problems they have, what they say they want, etc.
You pick a business model based on your offer. If people want trinkets, you do dropshipping/e-commerce. If people want to make more money, you do consulting or freelancing. If people want to learn how to do something, you do info marketing. Etc. etc. etc.
You learn how to sell. You learn basic copywriting fundamentals. You figure out how to write and speak in a way that's persuasive and resonates with people.
You create your offer and validate it as quickly as possible. Here, you SELL. You take your idea and try to get people to pay you money for it to determine if your idea is good or if its shit. Ideally, you do this before actually spending money to create the product/service.
Once your idea is validated, then you do all the "wantrepreneur" type stuff (building a website, getting logos made, making everything look official).
You determine the best way to sell your offer (look at competitors, copy them). Could be through an email list, a Shopify store, a funnel, phone sales, in person, etc.
You get a traffic source in place. Cold-calling, cold emailing, organic social media, paid ads, SEO, etc. Pick one and go all in.
You get people to your offer and write persuasive copy that converts enough prospects into customers to make the venture profitable.
If you offer is good and people actually want it, you make money. From there you scale things up by getting more people to the same offer, creating new offers, selling existing customers more offers, etc.
And that's 90% of everything you need to know to start an online business. Easiest ways are gonna be freelancing, affiliate marketing, dropshipping, and personal branding.
TL;DR

SELL SHIT, MAKE MONEY.
